Look a nationalized healthcare system doesn't work. Yeah we all get access to doctors but it comes at a cost. Even longer wait times, fewer doctors, quality of service goes down. I've seen the German national healthcare system myself, those doctors are untouchable because they are backed by the government. Canada's healthcare is not much better. The answer is to stop the silly ass lawsuits so malpractice insurance reduces which reduces doctor's fees.

Because someone will pay for it. When Obama let's the corporate tax rate rise back to 39% from 35%, the business WILL be paying for it. Also, should Julio or anyone else be successful with their carers, they too will be paying more in taxes, thus they pay for their health care in a way that they can't dictate the level of care they receive.
Honestly, with all the mismanagement of existing federal programs, would you be comfortable putting your well being in their hands? Bureaucrats != Doctors

National healthcare is not a stupid idea and its not a handout, its a taxpayer-funded service that would end up saving money by eliminating advertising and overhead and administrative expenses from the backend.
It's also only a matter of time and THE plan that makes the most sense economically right now, because the private sector can no longer afford to shoulder the burden of skyrocketing expenditures for commercial coverate plans.

Internet isnt controlled by any government aside from communism which means you wouldnt be able to read this until the government looked at it and edited it. Just because it doesn't happen in DC doesn't make it not socialist. State intervention is still a type of mild socialism, so state funded roads, schools, are still "social programs".
Secondly I said gov't invented ARPANET, leading to the internet, not that gov't owns or controls it. And communism is an economic system, abuse of it (like democracy) can have dire consequences, but it's just a tool.
Maybe your state's schools sucked. That'd explain it.

One last reason I can think of off the top of my head is it drives prices up on healthcare and doctor costs which leaves those who do pay for their own healthcare end up having to pay even more because of the government. Also it sure doesnt help the SPENDING costs of the government as if they didn't spend enough money already. As I said socialism sounds good in theory, but every time it has been implemented it has failed in numerous countries.
