People who use marijuana for a long time are twenty times as likely to develop psychotic disorders - specifically schizophrenia. I once had to be put in a mental hospital during a very horrible time in my life. The guy in the room next to me had tried marijuana just once and ever since then has been schizophrenic, delusional, and unable to work, socialize, or enjoy life.
This reason alone - the danger of becoming insane - is enough to justify keeping marijuana illegal.
Just an aside: anyone who believes in free-speech has no business on Facebook (which is most clearly against freedom of speech), if you do not understand what I mean by this, it just hasn't happened to you...YET!
@Hootons The only reason nicotine is addictive is it is adherent to the substance its self. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has practically no physical and/or psychological addictive properties. No one is going to (in the case that it gets legalized) buy laced weed from federal providers if they can just grow it themselves for next to nothing in their homes. Pot changes people. It turns them into happy zombies. Ever read Brave New World? The leadership controls everything, and people don't care, because they're all on the perfect happy pill, called soma. Pot makes people happy with their situation, no matter what the situation is. On top of the government-is-chasing-me paranoia and psychosis. And don't try to call me on that. I've seen it. @Hootons You know how you can buy corn from the farmer's market or from the grocery store? Philip Morris won't be producing all the pot if it gets legalized. You'll still be able to buy locally.
@Hootons any hedshop, just ask for synthetic pot. It doesn't smell good or taste good but works, k2 has been reported to cause headaches and some others as well. It's herbs that are treated with a chemical. If you want to get a buzz, this is a way to do it, but you are smoking chemical..
@TrooperCX no, no. It's "not for human consumption". They aren't supposed to give it to you if you're going to smoke it. It's "loose incense". I've tried 4 different kinds that work pretty well. The guy behind the counter will understand if you tell him you need the "effective" "loose incense".
