I took the advice of a respondent and sent the camera to a Nikon Repair Center in NY (that's where Nikon directed me) via FedEx. After 1 week in was returned. At first I was very impressed with the speed of service. However, after I opened it I found it had not been repaired and the service slip was stamped " Non-US Product" - Grey Market.
Thanks for the info. Just as a word of caution, I purchased my Coolpix S3 while traveling in Hong Kong last year, I dropped it recently and there was no visual damage however the screen would not show an image (just like your video).

There is no need to call in advance for any approval or authorization; simply send the product in. Nikon Tech Support can not provide any turn-around time or estimated costs (if it is out of warranty).
If you are still within the warranty then you can send the camera to our repair facility and you would pay for the shipping to and from service. I don't know what repair facilities would be local there unfortunately.
Alternately if you have an address in the USA you would prefer us to return the camera to we can do that instead and they can ship it to you.
Can I still send my camera in to that address?
