  • Nas owns everyone, for anyone to even consider that big l is better are mad!

    Lyrics- nas

    Content- nas

    Meaning- nas

    Best album- nas

    Freestyle- big l

    Punchlines- big l

And for everyone saying big l would smoke him in a battle, we are talking about the geezer who created ether??? Unless you mean freestyle battle

  • This is like voting between the queen, and the king.

Both are important. Just shut up and appreciate them both <3

  • @BlessCodChannel theres no Andre Legacy these two chumps can't rap now i let the hate roll in hahahahahahahaahaahhaha (fran stole my youtube)

  • @OptimusDubstep Lmao Skype?

  • Nas

  • Big L has some lines that go hard, so he wins in my eyes, but Nas is one of the Greats, with No question

  • Dude nas has dope lyrics and big L has dope punchlines and how can you compare?..

  • Big L (Vote here)

  • The second Big L's part please ?

  • Big L would smoke him, and easily too

  • i agree nas could never come with punchlines like Big L

  • most of these were freestyles from L, he wins on that note.

  • Big L

  • The first nas song is called "the set up"... if L dropped one verse over that track i think all you guys would know who the better MC is... no question nas is a beast but can he fuck with L...HELL NO

  • Big L is most def. a better BATTLE mc . . .

  • its a tie

  • big l was punchlines and flow where nas had it all thats what makes him goat

  • @ShookOnes92 well everyone is entitled to their own opinion, BUT i would have to say that Big Daddy Kane and Rakim are the greatest of ALL time . . .

  • what song is at 6:40?

  • @imsonastykidz American Dream

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahaha Nas Better then L? I dont think any Mc on the planet could fuck with L... Biggies my favourite but big L is the nicest.

  • hard to say since L's career was cut short, in a battle Big L could fuck ANY mc up, but overall goes to Nas i guess...

  • I love the Nas, and always will. So for me this is Nas in my opinion. My favorites of all time are KRS ONE, Kool G Rap and Nas just to let ya know. Ya know. LOL

  • NAS. but much respect to Big L one of the greatest to ever touch a mic. I like Big L but a lot of what he said wasn't real conscious on the same level as Nas. A lot of what L said was clowning he was nice with the punchlines but personally I think Nas is better all round.

  • What's the song at 6:13?

  • Even though big L was influenced by nas, big L became better with his flow and punchlines and rhyming skills...

  • NAS...................BIG L WAS INFLUENCED BY DIS NIGGA CMON HE MADE ILLMATIC AT LIKE 19-20

  • big L, nasty nas is still good , but big L is the greatest

  • @bicboi46 I just gave you a thumbs down for that comment. LOL

  • L GOT HOT FLOW

  • how can u say big L? Nas definately wins this. NIGGERS THINK SHIT SWEET I CARRY BIG HEAT WAVY HAIR CHIPPED TEETH UP IN HIS BITCH DEEP QUEENS MURDER CLICK MEET

  • In a rap battle Big L would fuck Nas up the ass

Overall MC gotta give it to the Queens.

  • @flavjuniorgrill That's just it, battle. Battling is only like 1/3 of what a Rapper is. What knowledge is coming from Big L's dome? Nas comes with knowledge like KRS ONE. See my all time top 3 again: KRS ONE, Kool G Rap, and Nas. It all relates back to one of the top 3 that I like. Nas I am, KRS ONE I'm still #1, and Kool G Rap It's a Demo are trademarks on these individual artists. Everyone knows this slogans that know real hip hop.

  • Big L all the DAMN way MANG!

  • Yo what's the third song?

  • Im a big nas fan but i gotta say Big L. Illmatic was probably one of the greatest albums of all time but Life Syles Ov Da Poor and Dangerous nearly matched it. L just didn't have enough time to show his full potential and develop so its not a fair to compare them.

  • @Killmatic96 Lifestlyes didn't nearly match it.. Big L had solid flowing skills but there have been plenty of rappers with more enlightening content to their rhymes, and few (though not many) with a more natural flow, and illmatic is a prime example as well as the fact the content of Ls lyrics after a couple songs gets extremely repetive and monotonous... the last few tracks of the album the quality of the music noticeably drops and it gets to a plain 1-2-4 rhyming scheme which gets old

  • FUCK YOU GUYS BIG L FOREVER

  • @russianrusaln Nas easily better then Big L

Big L is too one dimensional

  • First Song?

  • @iLov3Hiphop nas live nigga rap

  • @StreamerVideo Thank you

  • @iLov3Hiphop oh ye also u can just google like one line from the lyrics of a song and it could pop up

  • big l dope though

  • NaS

  • NaS

  • NaS

  • NaS

  • NaS

  • Big L

  • Big L

  • Big L

  • Big L

  • nas but its its close

  • damnn yo this is really hard decision. Lets say they even lmao

  • You guys are all fucking faggots saying " oh the big picture wasn't a classic, illmatic was" fuck you mean a classic you moronic fucks, big l and nas where friends, and if Big l was still here he'd team up with nas to pull a heist on your bitch asses.

  • damnnnnnnn toooo hard man! if big l was in it longer then BIG L.... but right now NAS soo TIE!

  • ayo u can compard deese niggaz wit cass and papoose nas and cas believe n god papoose and big l roll wit satan

  • NAS

  • their both sick, but nas is better styll.

  • L destroy's everyone on the face of the earth theres no competitiion its just L

  • nas

  • God's Son VS Devil's Son???

    depends on the battle

the battle in hell (freesyle) goes to L

the battle in heaven (lifechanging lyrics) goes to Nas

but overall they are almost equal

  • In a freestyle battle - Big L

In a true comparison - Nas

  • this is HARD to choose lol

  • i'm gonna go for L

  • all i can deterime are these are the best of the best

  • Big L has VERY clever lines in freestyles, it almost seems impossible that he can think of them on the spot. Nas can paint such pictures with lyrics ( the Message, Represent, Take It In The Blood, nearly all of his songs on Illmatic and It Was Written are masterpieces) that it leaves people speechless.

They have completely different styles. It's impossible to compare. But, we can all agree on this:

They're infinitely better than anything today.

90's Hip Hop >>>> newschool "swag" hip hop.

  • @ecModern big ls freestyles were pre-written

  • Its a hard 1 but i think nas is better but if big L was around longer then he may of edged it

  • Nas destroys Big L lyrically. Big L punches are overrated, yes he does have skill, but Chino XL & Copywrite did it way better than Big L. People will deny this because he got the name King of Punchlines. Seriously open your eyes Nas >>>>> Big L and it's not close. Nas isn't even one of the best lyricists. If he was still alive he would be with rockafella who all fell off and he would probably be like Jay-Z.

  • @MidlandKruiskade thank you thank you thank you, imop chino xl and cassidy and papoose are better punchline artist then BIG L.. and Big L may have solid flowing skills but there have been plenty of MCs with more intelligent and enlightened content to their rhymes than Big L. There have also been a few (though not many) with more distinct delivery--and perhaps one (Nas circa "Illmatic"?) with a more natural flow, and I h8 it when Big L be dissin god and claimin satan.. dude had issues

  • @StreamerVideo First of all no one gives a fuck about your religious beliefs fool... secondly there are probably plenty of better punchline rappers than L who gives a fuck Cassidy, Papoose, Chino XL, whoever u wanna throw out there they aint overall better than L. Yes you can say some rappers are better than L but that comes down to opinion really... any1 who thinks L doesnt deserve to be compared wit Nas or any of the other rap heavyweights does not know shit about rap

  • @miked3790 okay that doesn't change the fact everytime Big L moved out of the catagory of gangster rap his flow dropped to punchlines @ best just look @ the lyrics of the song Street Struck or How will I make you

and yes you're right that was exactly what I said in another vid there are plenty of better punchline rappers then L.. and there are plenty of ppl who are overall better then L, and I think he can be compared to NAS but once again he is mediocre when he moves outside gangster rap

  • @miked3790 ye I guess ur right

  • @StreamerVideo fuck you and Jehovah

  • @ATENakaATON I find that comment funny because I recently found out Jehovah isn't even the real name of God but a tetragram placed in the name or it's a guess name or something like that.. not 100% sure though, but my God is Jesus

  • @StreamerVideo do you know what the pentagrammaton is yet? If you want to know after a while your going to realize the whole bible is nonsense, but so it's understood Jehovah is Satan in the bible I just find it amusing most Christians think he's the same God Christ was referring to. I assumed like most Christians you would have thought Jehovah was the God of the bible and I wanted to mock you for pressing your silly notions of the Bible being literal.

  • @ATENakaATON No i'm not completely sure what the pentagrammaton is yet, but yes I have heard that you shouldn't call God by the name of Jehova or any other of the guess names because that would mean you're not reffering to the same God or that's what I've heard... I'm still not 100% sure though.. all I know is that my God is Jesus, and I don't really like to call him by the so called "guess" names like Churches occasionally do and ya

  • @ATENakaATON but ye I recently ran into a long internet page not too long ago saying that jehovah isn't the real name of God and the pentagrammaton n stuff and there are many other fake "guess" names for God etc. it took me through a whole History lesson etc.

So tbh i don't know much of this stuff all I know is that from what I've heard the King James version is most accurate Bible translation and that if I accept and follow Jesus Christ teachings I'll be with him in the after life

  • @bigbaconburger17 Paid in Full*

  • @bigbaconburger17 Lyrics of Fury, My Melody, Don't Sweat the Technique. Even some of his more recent stuff is good: Hip Hop, New York to Cali, It's Been a Long Time. Just a few there, just start with the albums Paud In Full and Follow The Leader.

  • Stop comparing emcees... They're all ill in there own right... They each excel at different aspects of emceeing, they're all dope. Cut that him vs. him shit out.

  • @young128 And of course that isn't Nas only good verse, I don't need to tell you he has many incredible verses. This is a stupid debate, I realized when you said L's discography is better than Nas'.

  • @MrCommenterguy Its just opinion

  • @young128 Lifestylez as good as Illmatic? LMAO, I'm done, it had nowhere near as good lyricism, range of concepts or productions as good as Nas' debut. Stop it.

  • @young128 only dropped one album alive, another after death and half of it L didn't even know about. The Enemy was taken off DITC discography, the rest were his acapellas on beats, Ebonics and Size Em Up were the only tracks on there made alive. It's far from a classic, most call it a weak album. Nas has had Illmatic, IWW which is an arguable classic, Stillmatic is also arguable, and other good albums.

  • @young128 I never said a rapper needs to cover all aspects, I agree with you that it's how a rapper uses the categories, but a rapper who relies on punchlines mostly does not have as much skill as a real lyricist skilled in straight lyrics, storytelling and Nas has had a few good punchlines. Undying Love was far more creative in it's story than Casualties and extremely captivating, not saying Casualties wasn't. How are you gonna say Nas doesn't have a better discography than L? L only dropped o

  • @young128 this might look confusing/ the firsts comment starts off 'as i said', the second starts off 'these are displays of real lyricism...', the third starts off 'glob/ when I'm deceased', the last starts off 'sorry young...'

  • @young128 These are displays of real lyricism* (start from there!) 'From the lights cameras action, glamour glitter and gold/ I unfold the scroll/ plant seeds to stampede the...'

  • @young128 Sorry young, L was not as great a lyricist as Nas, thought you were better than that.

  • @MrCommenterguy thats ur opinion.

  • @young128 globe*/ when I'm deceased/ by then the beast arise like yeast/ conquer peace/ leaving savages to roam in the streets..' I do think that there is categories which exceed each other, depending on difficulty because that shows more skill, punchlines aren't that difficult. And Nas was far more creative, in Rewind he tells a story backwards, and he has a better discography if we're counting who's the better MC, not rapper.

  • @young128 As I said, the greatest lyricists don't rely as much on punchlines, because they're simply not that hard to pull off. Even these new mainstream artists can have nice punchlines (not saying any of them are as great as L). Now I didn't mean L could ONLY do punchlines, I meant all he has on Nas is punchlines. Are you really gonna call Big L a better than Nas? How is Casualties better than Undying Love? How were any of his verses as good as Nas' verse in Verbal Intercourse? These are disp

  • @MrCommenterguy Anything great is display of lyricism, you cant say ONE thing is displays in lyricism. And IMO Dice Game is a bit more captivating than Undying Love even though its close. And I never said Ls a FAR better lyricist, only far better in flow but lyrically L only by a hair. You dont look at how many aspects a rapper covers, you look at his overall verses and flow ofc. Its how well a rapper puts shit to use to create nice stuff. Its not who got most aspects, etc.

  • @MrCommenterguy punches are diffic. if they are great but it wont mean shit if the verses overall aint great. and how can ONE verse determine a rappers skills as better? Verbal intercourse is nice as fuck but IMO not as nice as danger zone, da graveyard, etc.

  • @MrCommenterguy Nas dont have a discography like L. Only real CLASSIC album of Nas is illmatic while both of Ls albums are classics and Ls debut is better than Illmatic, IMO. Or at least as good.

  • @young128 lol l only had 1 classic album. nas had 2 possibly 3

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang it was written was good but i cant call it a classic at least not yet. the rest of his albums were good but not classics overall. hiphop is dead has one notable track, untitled has none, nastradameous has none, i am few, it was written quite some, ...etc. thats it. ILLMATIC was FROM START TO FINISH AMAZING AS FUCK!! thats what a classic is.

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang imo big picture is classic. filled with great, classic, memorable tracks. and keep in mind its not even a real album that he 100% finished before he died it was like Yeah baby

  • @young128 every song in big picture sounded the same. it was written arguably had better lyrics than illmatic except 4 1 or 2 songs like street dreams. i think it was written was actualy better than lifestyles ov da poor and dangerous and it was way better than big picture

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang how did every song on big picture sound the same? ebonics sound nothing like the heist, the enemy sounds nothing like size em up, games sound nothing like dice game, etc. it was diverse especially the lyrical content and ok i respect ur op. but i dont think so

  • @young128 nah the production was bad and bland big l basicly just had punchlines except 4 a few songs. the only things that realy made the songs sound different from eachother were the guest features.

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang lol sounds like someone is hating :P

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang I'm done with the dude, he just said Lifestylez is better than Illmatic and Big Picture is a classic.

  • @MrCommenterguy same as how hooks is skillful if u do it really well but that wont mean shit if the song is overall not good

  • Two of the greatest MC's to ever pick up a mic.

  • @craigapriliaracing LOL at you not even replying to me. Jay Z slaughtered Nas? Check again. Again you don't tell me why nAs doesn't come close to L, Nas is an incredible lyricists, Im sorry you can't realize that. L never dropped an album as good as Illmatic, as I said, he had punchlines but not the lyricism of Nas. Also, it helps when arguing if you try being more literate, just a tip.

  • @MrCommenterguy Big L had far better flow than Nas. He had also better lyrics than Nas. His verses on songs like Danger Zone, You Know What Im About, Casualties Of A Dice Game, etc. are better than anything Nas ever done. But I love Nas and he aint far away from L lyrically.

  • @young128

better lyrics? you don't even have a grasp of what lyricism is, how can you say that. nas, rakim, g-rap, jay, ghost face, raekwon, biggie, common, mos def, etc... all better lyricists than big l easily. danger zone isn't even worth mentioning, it's a freestyle song.

  • @RelaxednCaIm how dont i have a grasp of what lyricism is?

  • @young128

because you think danger zone is better than can i live lyrically.lol

  • @RelaxednCaIm lol thats like saying "u cant have an opinion in rap". what makes Can I live better lyrically? danger zone has far better rhymes and shit. the verses are overall far better.

  • @young128

which rhymes are far better? "ain't no food in my fridge, just body parts"? lol

and you probably missed a lot of jay's multies on can i live because he didn't rhyme them all on the snare or put emphasis on them like big l does.

  • @RelaxednCaIm lol ima listen more properly but its not about how many syllables u rhyme its how well u put em together...

  • @RelaxednCaIm just cuz can i live had content and some witty punches?

  • lad if he was not working in mcdonalds it would have been in kfc cos he dont come close to L you just ride nas dick you punk not arsed about who drops what albume first L would slaughter nas little fake nigga jay z slaughted nas mobb deep would shoot the cunt lad you vote nas all day BITCH and your the dicked ya little nas lover !!!

    RIP BIG L

  • People, don't dickride L cos, sadly, he is gone, all L had was punchlines, the greatest lyricists don't rely so much on punchlines. I lovecboth tough.

  • @MrCommenterguy Big L had amazing verses. Thats what makes a lyricist great. Its not if he covers many aspects or not, its how well he can use them to create nice verses. There are many skills in rap so you choose one or some to exceed in. And if Big L could create verses filled with amazing punchlines then that is as skillful as filling it with amazing multies or storytelling or whatever. But for the record Big L had amazing verses cuz of his multies

  • @young128

big l didn't have amazing punchlines, he just had a lot of them. he's not that great. lol at comparing any l story to undying love. not even close.

  • @MrCommenterguy Because Ls punchlines were only good here and there but he couldnt fill verses with amazing punchlines. It was how he could fill verses with amazing rhyme schemes and mix that with some great punchlines and all around mix that also with great storytelling, imagery, content, etc.

  • @MrCommenterguy He had all around amazing verses that were amazing in different ways. Some by multies, some by storytelling, some by both, etc.

  • @craigapriliaracing Nas came out with Illmatic, one of the greatest albums ever, before Big L was even heard of as a rapper you nut bag. People need to make an educated point when arguing which artist is better, Nas, one of the greatest lyricists ever, working at McDonalds? Nas probably inspired L, L used his voice/quoted him in two songs dickhead.

  • Nas > Rakim > Big L. In my opinion Nas is the greatest.

  • @cohlinb16 Duuude that's riight! Haha I forgot about that! :)

  • IF BIG L WAS STILL ALIVE NAS WOULD BE WORKING IN MACDONALDS

LISTEN TO HIM HOW CAN ANY 1 SAY NAS IS SICKER

  • big l would destroy him no doubt

  • nas overall but big l is a better free styler and has better flow

  • big l the best ever on the MIC his flow gets ya belly turning and hairs start to stick up

    illest MC ever lived

    more than just harlams finest

    R.I.P BIG L

  • ONLY PERSON THAT CAN BE COMPARED TO L.. STILL NOO COMPETITION

  • Big L.

  • Big L easily

  • god son vs devil son

  • @cohlinb16 Fuck yeah, love the description.

  • Nas > Big L....but damn, L is fuckin deadly

  • Comment removed

  • nobody wants to get ethered :))) respect to both

  • Comment removed

  • i think people are forgetting L got shot young, he still had some good years to develop himself.

  • Rakim eclipses both in terms of limber lyricism, flow, erudition and off-the ropes dopeness! But, quite honestly, if Nas went against Big L, he'd be shredded! No doubt whatsoever. Big L had an immaculate ability to blend words, punchlines and phrases - he was an impeccable brother off-the-dome. So, Rest In Peace Big L! Nas is sick, but Big L was disarmingly on-point.

  • @MrJazzHOP dude i love both Nas and Big L but i dont know much by Rakim. can you recommend me some songs to listen to by him?

  • Nas easily but respect to big L .

  • Nas easily...Big L never even did anything so great and is only dick rided for his punchlines

  • @wolverine668 maybe cause he got killed in the middle of hsi career bitch! you respekt the dead legends you stupid kid!

  • @ShookOnes92

Naaa nas, pac and big are equal its just what you prefer and big l doesnt come close

  • NAS

  • Big L and Nas inspire how iRhyme so i'd say both tieee

  • nas, big l> biggie 2pac

  • Just because Big L rhyme over some instrumental, it doesn't mean he's freestyling. His lyrics are written. He's reciting lyrics from his own fucking album for god sake.

  • People who says Big L is better than nas are delusional. They live in their own world.

Or they just don't know shit about hiphop and mcing.

  • @SlimRikkosz

Wat bout pac, em, biggie, kool g rap, scarface, gang starr

  • Nas can't freestyle for shit. L would destroy him, but Nas' songs are better

  • Ask Beavis I get nuttin But hEad

  • Big L, Big Pun, Nas, Immortal Technique, Rakim, KRS One,

those are the ones that stand out for me, no order really,

  • Lyrics - Nas

    Flow - Tie

    Metaphors - Nas

    Freestyles - Big L

    Delivery - Tie

    Concepts - Nas

    Wordplay - Nas

    Punchlines - Big L

    Overall - Nas

  • @Eziokilla9595 are u retarded? nas wins in metaphors? big l made a whole song using only metaphors. its called ebonics bitch. plus hes better flow too

  • @slimshadyftw97 It's not about how many. It's about how well you can incorporate them into your message in your song. In NY State of Mind, when Nas makes a metaphor about the hood being like a mouse maze. That's genius.

  • @slimshadyftw97 Oh, and Ebonics isn't a song full of metaphors, and if you think it is, you're retarded. Ebonics is Big L translating slang words to english. That's not a metaphor. Get you shit straight.

  • Nas is the best!

you coulda chose better nas verses

  • Doesn't really get better than Nas.

  • Rakim devastates both!

  • @MrJazzHOP No, i truly don't think Ra could hold up in a beef with Nas or Big L he'd get murdered.

  • Talentwise nas pisses all over him

nas and pac - the greatest to touch the mic

  • Nas overall is better

But Big L has a better flow and i like his more energetic style.

  • @TruMaster Live Nigga rap feat. Mobb Deep

  • whats the Beginning song??

  • Comment removed

  • Nas: lyrics, a lot of stuff you can relate to, delivery

Big L: punchlines, flow, hardcore rhymes
