@lisamconveyness when people are recovering from addiction, it doesn't help for them to be around someone who consumes alcohol and drugs. Gerard probably had trouble dealing with it when he was around Bert. we'll never really know because they're very quiet about it, but that would be my guess.

Gerard let the fame go to his head.
he was so unkind to me and i didn't jump on him or stuff like that.
he treat me unkind with no reason for that.
on the other hand, Bert was the most sweet guy with me and also Quinn, Jepha and Dan.
They're amazing.
im not saying that MCR( the band) is bad, but Gerard is not how he used to show in the videos.

well, he didnt let us ( was a meet and greet and i was with my friends) hug him, we barely could touch him. he didnt let us take photo. and he looked at me with a nauseous face.
