  • i think it would look better if there was a t-128!!

  • Honestly I think theses sound better than the 130s. These arent quite as high pitched, kinda in the middle :)

  • there going to be sounding in a litttle while!!!

  • The only way I am able to navigate to my college everyday is by counting the 5 2001's on the way, not including the one right on campus that I visit quite often. :D

As lame as this model is compared to others, the 2001's are beginning to grow on me. Nice video!

  • dude great video dan! that is exactly the pitch 2001's should be

  • This is a 2001 SRN the early versions of the 2001 series. I like them alright. The new 130's are too high pitched. They also have the same rotator motor as the thunderbolt.

  • I think the 2001 DC is the best kind. That's what I thought this one was.

  • These are one of the best 2001 sirens.

  • i like the sound of this siren , this is the type they have at the town i live in , its a lot better

  • Where i live i'm in between 3 FS 2001 sirens, and i can hear the out of tune sound as son as i hear all of their sound waves meet up at my house.

  • theres a fs 2001 dc in lincoln city oregon

  • why would they get rid of perfectly good working sirens. If i was you since living there do you you realize your tax money got wasted on new things not needed, anyways your vids are awesome i enjoy watching them from time to time.

  • This siren here actually got moved to a different location in Livonia that replaced a 3016. When the new 2001-130s came, the West Shore Service Crew did the siren locations. Some of the locations are in the same spot to where the old sirens use to be and some are in new locations to where there has not been a siren there before. They did that to make certain areas in Livonia have more siren sound coverage.

  • yes it is

  • is that the siren that replacded the thonder bolt

  • Was this the siren by the fire department by a park?

if so i remember this one:D

  • There is no park right next to the Livonia Fire Dept but the Police Dept is right behind the Fire Dept. This is in the downtown section of Livonia.

  • i want a whelen...so i can BLOW IT UP >:) F##K YOU WHELEN!!!!

  • That has nothing to do with this video.

  • When was the first 2001 introduced?

  • I believe 1988 is when they started to make the 2001 ACs which were the origanal roundbacks.

  • That siren sure does sound like a STH-10 or a Model 5/7!

  • That's kind of dumb that they replaced a 2001 with a 2001. All they really needed to do was update the controls. That's what they did to the 2001 at 10 Mile and Beck Rd. It's one of the old ones like this and they replaced the controls when I lived there like 3 years ago.

  • Okay, so some older 2001s do have round backs. Are the 2001s with round backs the 2001 ACs and rectangular backs 2001 DCs?

  • i think that the 2001 DCs were manufactured in the 90s and early 2000 if i'm correct.

  • Well this kind of model is somewhere in the early 90s.

  • oh o.k. thanks dan.

  • Nice siren. 5/5

  • Federal signal stopped making those!

  • Federal Signal has stopped production of the DC and SRNB models but are currently producing the 2001-130 models.

  • They stop making the DCs but not 2001-130s.

  • the 130s by my house suck I like srnb's and dc better

  • how long was it there?

  • Well I mean is a 2001-130 in the exact spot as this siren?

  • Actually its close by. Right now there is no siren there.

  • That sucks. I think they should have put the new one right there.

  • That's too bad. It's such a good siren.

  • You're welcome.

  • I love how this 2001-DC sounds, Dan. Awesome video.
