  • this is so beautiful! something about madlib and med is so perfect for hip hop

  • MED's same lyrics from dudley perkins -" come here my dear", which is nice, but way harder over this Bobbi Humphrey's sample!

  • @BUTTA170 i know what the actual sample is??

  • Jazzzz, funk, chillaxing, mellow, feel good shit, a blend of the ill gritty dope jazz with the uppity hip hop rhythm, madlb feels it. It is seriously A CRIME that this isn't played on the radio.

  • I fucks with this...

    For LIFE bro...

  • dam i jus had a moment......

  • luv this, buenisimo tema dogga

  • My favourite song, it's just perfect. In a way I'm glad that it's not played on the radio, because it would ruin it. Most people just don't like this kind of hip-hop and I don't understand it, it doesn't get better than this for me.

  • Who else thinks MED absolutely flies on this track? I've tried listening to his solo works but this by far is his best I find. His flow is angular as hell on this and just... damn.

  • @tirgula i think he always beats up the track. somethin about his flow is awsome, he just kinda hops around like a boxer and always kills it! and this is purely the shit

  • Man!!! Madlib has so much style.

No other artist can have the same feel from his projects like this, Quasimoto, Yesterday's New Quintet, Jaylib, Madvillain, Beat Konducta, Lootpack, and hondreds of songs he has produced for endless artists.

  • I love the funky groove beat on the bobby humphrey's !!!

  • will real music ever come back??

  • "Im in a maze, cause iant see you in a long time".. that gets me every time !

  • Madlib and Pete Rock are so damn legendary!!!!

i would say JDilla but you already know that....im sure you already knew the other 2 are, who am i kidding...?

  • iLovee 2:07

  • I want to take the closest radio and beat it with a baseball bat for not playing THIS type of hiphop 24/7 instead of cash money/dirty south garbage.

  • I feel ya voodoo

  • *clears throat* DJ Screw, Outkast, The Entire Screwed up Click, GETO BOYS- MY MIND'S PLAYING TRICKS ON ME, Ludacris, T.I. Barry White!! (Yes He was Born in Galveston) DJ Premiere is originaly from Houston, JAY ELECTRONICA IS FROM THE SOUTH!!! FOR GOODNESS SAKES...Granted Madlib is one of my top 10 Producers of all time, but before you associate an entire COAST with being garbage make sure you know to all of whom that statement pertains to.

  • @asdertert12345 5050 twin, cham, rasaq, big tuck, big moe, hawk <-- amazing.

  • Word word, but at the same time the underground heads make music like this because they know it aint well received, why that is beats me, but regardless WE know the true worth of it all!

  • @VoodooRhythmSound I feel you on this man

  • @VoodooRhythmSound I agree with that sentiment full heartedly.

  • @VoodooRhythmSound Sorry that you dont live in the Bay Area, we got those shitty stations, but we also got at least 3 underground stations in each area that know their hip hop

  • @snubbs741 What stations? Where?? All i can ever find is that weak 94.9 and 106 kmel shit!

    even on the east bay.

  • @jsk2131 Really? that sucks man cause the East Bay is where hella music comes from! I'm in the South Bay so I don't know if you get SJ stations but 90.5 KSJS (San Jose State) has like 4 or 5 DJ's that play underground/old school shit. 89.3 has some good shit too from Foothill College

  • @VoodooRhythmSound Dirty South aint bad, some of the best in the game come from the dirty. Some of the newbies are garbage though.

  • @VoodooRhythmSound Why can't they just play both? I love Southern rap.

  • @VoodooRhythmSound don't worry bout the radio man, the radio does what it's supposed to do. once you realize that mainstream doesn't matter, you'll be at peace with your music

  • @VoodooRhythmSound i'd just say lets all give it up, fuck people who wont search for real music, real artists, real hip hop, well too bad, but fuck em, sure, we wont see decent music reign on our radios and tvs, just wont happen, we all know it, if people want to hear some retard talking about his BMWs and bitches, in a sense i really dont want them to share my world, lets just enjoy what we can, try to pass it around for the ones who could appreciate it and leave it at that

  • One of the illest tracks ever people or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Well....... it's up there

  • from italy, love this song and much respect for madlib.

  • that intro was used on Bahamadia's 1st album...for true rap heads

  • Also The Roots Distortion 2 static At Ease Remix

  • Man it's so refreshing to know ppls are up on what true hip hop is! Bahamadia was so dope when she was out.. she need to come out again.. Philly ALWAYZ had madd talent..

  • my people just came back from Japan said shes still large over there

  • CLASSIC SONG!!! if de0ndre was a girl, i would definately have sex with her. haha

  • this song puts me in the most mellow mood. i cant explain.

Madlib always had that effect on me. i always seem to listen to him..when happy, blazed, sad, confused, reminiscin, dazed.....right now im really down and sad about a relationship...all i know is this hits me hard.

  • yea girl i cheer u up

  • Med you Sick with it. "And i ain't hit it in a long time, So i'm a hit it for a long Time"

  • My sis put mw up on this record -i love it! Thx sis!

  • the seconed best is montra (remix)

  • my favorite track from these album!!!

    PLAHHH!!!

    DAMM!!!!

  • hey guys if you go to the wiki for this album it tells you all of the respective original songs for each track in case any of ya'll wanted to know

    one love

  • MED's verse is nice. Fits so well with the beat.

  • why dont they have this cd on i-tunes?

  • That bassline! Damn!

  • when i bought this record, I played it atleast once a day for a year. I just recently downloaded and listened to the origial song. Honestly, I like the original, but madlib's uptempo version is better, I wish i could find a version of this remix without the rappin, just so i could vibe to it real chill like

  • where did you find the original song? whats the name of it?

  • Man that beat at 4:00 was tight

  • Damn, sick ass shit!!

check out the new videoclip of Dope DOD sick ass shit as well:

    ***Dope DOD - Double Jeopardy***

    Aight!!!!

  • it jive alright

  • You know what I hate, just the fact I find it hard to find Madlib and other incredible producers and artist in stores. Maybe, I'm not searching hard enough....anybody got any suggestions, where to look?

  • I wouldn't look at bestbuy or barnes and noble etc. I would try checkin like a local underground record store. You can also order madlib cds from most places.

  • Well,I live in the Bronx,so I guess I have to probably google those undergrounds stores just to find him.Anyway, thanks and good looking out.

  • np good luck

  • I havent shopped at a best buy for cds in a minute but i tend to remember them being some what indy friendly. Theirs allways itunes they have loads of madlib and his alter ego's on there.

  • I feel you Craz, it's just like sneakers, u can't find all the hott exclusive shit at Foot Locker, they only got all the mass produced shit, u gotta go to the boutiquey type places, u gotta go downtown, it's better to support those places anyway, or like some others said u can try itunes or other places on the web like Stones Throw of course.

  • its sick to support your community

  • Anybody care to dispute that the natural (out of time) side effects of weed and syncopated hip-hop beats don't go hand and hand.

  • Some serious, very serious synchopations of percussions and bass on this track. I love it. Natural high!

    Personal philosophy;

synchopation frees us from the groove of the rigid, to ultimately fly. Whether you be high or natural.

    Peace.

  • one of my favorite madlib joints crazy off the wall

  • Xcellent vibe , madlib did the real on this one .

  • yo i love madlibs ear...dat boy got one of the best musical ears of any producer in the game for sho...and this ix is flawless

  • This feels like Madlib took a hit of acid and a fifth of vikoden before putting this shit out. Fucking Incredible.

  • HalSamuel, I agree with you.

Madlib sets himself apart from the pack of hip hop producers by sampling some of the finest records known.

Others may have also sampled these records, but only Madlib can create an original beat and mix, while still channeling the seemingly limitless emotion that the first artist put to wax. He may paint with many colors of sound, but he needn't leave a signature.

Because of this, Madlib stands alone as a superior hip hop producer.

  • Well said

  • this song hits the spot

  • Where can i get this album?

  • bestbuy or borders

  • the beautiful mind that is Madlib

  • Sorry, but he might actually be my favorite hip-hop producer ever. I think the music he makes goes further down a certain path than anyone has gone before. It's such soulful music. Truely soulful.

  • My favorite, too.

  • I wish Madlib would bestow me with his powers.

  • masterpiece

  • This is an Incredible track...

What IS this??? Chillout hip-hop? Or is this hip-hop how it used to be before it was evolved into today's hip-hop?

Anyways, Great stuff you can just sit back and kick it. Chillin' to a clean, mellow beat and instrumental. Like a saturday afternoon, you just kickin' it and don't got nothing to worry about because the music is so damn fresh and chill and it goes deep inside your mind and relaxes your spirit.

    Thanks for the upload.

    X

  • No doubt. Definately something to vibe to on the plane.

    Peace

  • I dont know what you mean by todays hip-hop, you probably mean commercial Hip-hop, because this has always been the real genre, todays rappers are just a disgrace to the beautiful culture of hip-hop. You know theres a big movement of Hip-Hop through out Latin America,Spain,Middle east,France,Japan,Some northern countries of Africa,Portugal and Australia and they really take Hip-Hop as a life-style, living for what really R.A.P stands for Revolution Attitude Poetry. We need change in this world.

  • I used to play this joint to death. I liked the ending w/ the piano solo.

  • A little West Coast beat from the Beat Konducta. I gotta give Stones Throw it props for the indies they put out.

  • Med really spit a hard verse on this..

  • there is a second verse on the "Dudley Perkins, 2012 ad"

    which the lib produced

    sicc spiritual benevolence shit

  • the lady voice at the back really set me at ease. i was selling this where i was working from luv it to death infact i will collect every asset from Madlib, MED,etc.

  • This is incredible.

I wish Madlib would do a colaboration with Aceyalone, that'd be intense.

  • "Custom fitted and wit it.......And I aint hit it in a long time....So, I'ma hit it for a long time".........I know I'm not the only one who felt that shit.........

  • man, i am feeling u on that. always one of my fav lines in this song. ive listened to this thousand times and still get the same feeling

  • I love this

  • i knew i heard this sample before

  • definitely prefer madlib to 9th wonder

  • SHIT yeaH!

  • for all those that want to know, Its medaphor mcing on this one.

  • All of Madlibs songs put me in a good mood. I would basically buy anything this cat puts out cuz I know its gonna be hott. The only other cats I can say that about are Mos Def and Common. Mos Defs album TRUE MAGIC is sick.

  • i still need this album...the 1 "retail" album that i dont have and im a HUGE fan...around here they dont sell it..and the only copy at 1 store..has a cracked case all around it...it looks like someone wrestled in for hours so fuck that...

but everything else of his i either buy..or if i cant find...i find online.

  • you can buy this shit on cd or vinyl off the internet.

and Im pretty sure if you go to you local cd store (independently owned) they will order it for you. They ordered it for me...

  • I love track 10 on this album. I forget the name, but DOOM is in the intro.

  • stepping into tomorrow. check the original too, very similar.

  • one of tha sickest beats you'll ever hear...
