@gyarreto I took about 7 hrs on it in the middle difficulty for the single player, but maybe I'm just really noob. Its not open world and you can play the game again when you're done to earn achievements that grant weapon and suit upgrade points, so you have better weapons for multiplayer.

@killerbumble the single worst stealth action game ever. people say it hits a nice mix between action and stealth but it doesn't. it constantly tries to get you to just kill everything and the stealth is so toned down. binary stealth is shit... either you were completely hidden or you werent. the M&E was a gimmick to get action lovers to buy it and the B&W made the game unplayable in the shadows. the levels and most other features in the game were designed to emphasize M&E

@815StoneCold if u were a hardcore fan of the originals you would hate this one. they put the bare minimum of their effort towards stealth and focused far too much on a hollywood story and jumping the action up to 11. they took the established characters and made them look unrecognizable from how they should and changed their personalities. Sam said in an earlier game that he doesnt enjoy killing and would only do so if it was unavoidable, but this game says hes a badass killer...

Good review, don't agree with you at all though. The game was a slap in the face to fans of stealth. They sold out and made it action, since most gamers prefer shooter action. The story was a fuckin joke too, throws everything that happened before it out the window. It's obvious they went the easy way and scrapped the original game for this. They didn't even have the decency to let gamers know the original game we saw previews of all this time, got scrapped. A 4hr single player. Fuck you fans.

Very disappointing game this...nowhere near as good as previous installments especially Chaos theory and Double Agent. DA was MUCH more polished, had proper stealth and body hide/removal and fantastic story and characters. Conviction played like a ps1 game, very limited environments and interaction, poor visuals, awful pointless swearing and way too easy even on hard. It's almost like Ubisoft turned all their best developers over to Assassins Creed and Conviction was simply the after-birth.

I can't believe some people talk about this game having a good story, the only good story arch the series has ever had was Sarah's death in Double Agent, and in this one you find out that she's alive and Sam becomes another Jack Bauer. Watch 24's 7th season they're nearly identical, and at least 24 has less cheesy dialogue and some good acting in it. I was hugely disappointed with this game.

@ScarletSnake Yes i agree! Went i heard she was still alive i went "WHAAAAA?!", that was the main setup for both this and Double Agent!. Made me not really care about the story, i felt cheated because that was the big emotional plot point of the series.

I hated how they completely revamped the gameplay mechanics and smooth controls from the earlier games. It did not feel like Splinter Cell at all. I liked the "mark and execute" concept though.. I just wish it was in a better SC game!
