good thing he did the safety check after he would have shot his hand off lol, nice review though, been looking at getting one for awhile now, this helps
@NeverEnuffAmmo - First off, let me say I think your reviews are fantastic from a utilitarian point of view. Very concise, just like I like it.
That being said, sometimes I feel like I'm listening to a review by an airline pilot. The ... uhhh... the gun is... uhhh. really nice. I ... uhhh... I really like it.
I have an early 90's PT92 with the lanyard ring with the safety on the frame. I purchased it used and spend about $125 getting it back in reliable shape. I had to replace the recoil spring and the ejector as well as a little machining. The factory trigger is amazing and it is wonderfully accurate! My favorite handgun by far. (NeverEnuffAmmo) I am glad you know your history of the gun and the company in this review! Makes for a more reliable review. Thanks for your uploads!!!
Man when I think of this gun or 92FS style pistols, I always remember back to the days of when I wanted one of these so bad after seeing Lethal Weapon and then going to the gun store and actually being able to hold one.... good times. But my first love will always be the 1911... I guess im just too American or something! lol
was set on the beretta px4 in .40 but then noticed the 92 and loved how schmexy it was. now im set on this as my shtf pistol. =) great review thanks. gonna grab this after i purchase my lower for my ar
@Hadhock I know officers who've carried this as a duty weapon, nowdays of course things like Glock & M&P tend to be the first choice but this is a fantastic pistol, it is a better version of the Beretta IMO, it has features that I perfer over the Beretta and is an extremly accurate pistol, u could do alot worse than using this as a duty weapon
@NeverEnuffAmmo Good information. I am looking for a semi auto for self and home defense, Being a geezer I am use to wheel guns though I am familiar with the 1911 from my army days. Looking for fairly light recoil but enough stopping power to do the job if, God Forbid, I ever have to use it. I believe I can conceal it fairly well as I have concealed a S&W 29 with a four inch barrel for years, but age is catching up with me it seems. Would you rate this the pistol for me?
@MrJake985 Well in my opinion this design is to the 9mm what the 1911 is to the .45 ....... it is the standard for 9mm, its going to afford u alot of the things u may like about the 1911 and a few extras like a decocker for carry and 17 rounds instead of 8. All in all if u believe u can conceal this pistol then its going to work for u in every other area u mentioned. I personally would rate this very high for someone used to classic pistols like the 1911
@zombie8210 I know people that carry full sized pistols for their CCW, but for the most part it wasn't designed to be worn concealed like many pistols on the market are
Best review ive seen for this gun yet. good job for real. thank you. I plan on purchasing this for christmas.I dont think that you can go wrong with this one. Life time warranty for the gun not the owner gives me a hard on lol.
@brokenChair1 I didn't say it was better than Beretta, I said I chose it over a Beretta, it is better for me, it has features I perfer over the Beretta, and as far as quality goes, its made by the same people, in the same factory, on the same machines, with the same materials and by the same designs as beretta so outside of a couple features like a full length guide rod, a picatinny rail & a frame mounted decocker safety instead of a slide mounted one, they are identical
Just let me get my Glock 22 that im gonna convert into a glock 17 with the WOLF berrel and i will get with you so you can check out my 1911 and Springfield XD
excellent video! im getting my friends 92 for 350 bucks. oh and a differnce in the Beretta also the beretta has a marker on the side to let you know when a round is in the chamber.
I was in a gun store yesterday looking at this gun. They had it on sale for $399. I'm going to buy it. With the money I save, instead of a "falcon", I'm going to get my wife a Heritage 22LR/MAG 9 shot revolver :))
I almost bought one of these to accompany my Beretta until I realized the mags are not interchangeable between the two guns. Also the slide mounted safety just felt very different.
@datguy781 Yeah changing the mags was because Taurus changed over to a standard 17 round mag with a traditional mag release instead of the Beretta's 15 round mag back in '92 at the same time they changed the safety to a frame mounted safety because of their military contracts and consumer requests because it's a more traditional 1911 style safety compared to the Beretta's safety. If your used to 1911 pistols the Taurus feels better, but if your used to running a Beretta it will feel different
I use this pistol as a truck gun, when I see it I automatically think of military issue, just like the 1911. I love it for what it is, a friend of mine paid 700 $ for a used marine issue 92fs... I just snickered and shook my head
I do not know but to me the handle is what makes a gun a consealed. If it is bulky forget it.But to me the lenght is no a issue unless it isover 9-10 inches. When tucking a weapon in the lenth does not matter It is the handle to frame lenght.
@GunzCoty This pistol is lighter than a steel framed 1911, but is wider than a 1911 because of the grip and the double stack mag. So it depends on what makes a bigger difference to u, weight or size.
agreed,im not a big fan of the finish either, i plan on getting my pt92 duracoated, gonna go flat tactical gray or maybe a dark earth color.. other than that, great gun for the price and lifetime warranty... cant go wrong with that.
my grandpa is about to buy me one but im worried if its to small for my hands im only 14 could you check out one of my videos and tell me what you think
I just picked one up off gunbroker. Its gotta be a older one because there is no decocker and no rail. However the safety is on the frame. Comes with 4 mags and upgraded grips for $401
@NeverEnuffAmmo do you happen to know if it will still fit in the blackhawk serpa holster ? I only ask because right now I'm carrying my kimber custom 2 in my dads shop and i want to get the leg rig and swap out the guns when i feel it .
@NeverEnuffAmmo well i'm a little pissed right now cuz i just got my gun home and it doesn't fit the holster...unless i need to fix something but the trigger guard lock wont lock !?
@pray4chicken The only way it wouldn't fit is if the holster was made for a different trigger guard than what the gun had since some Beretta's have the rounded trigger guard and some have the "hooked" trigger guard for your support hand index finger, (beretta M9 = rounded M9A1 = hooked) and the Taurus is the same way, some of the older ones had a rounded trigger guard where as the newer ones have a "hooked" trigger guard. Other than that the 2 guns are identical as far as a holster is concerned
@NeverEnuffAmmo well both the holster and gun have the hooked trigger guard...only it looks as if the trigger guard on the gun is slightly thicker and it wont close over it/
@pray4chicken Have u tried adjusting the tension screw and loosening it up to open the holster a bit. I can't really think of anything else, all the holsters, including the serpa should fit both models the same.
@chrismc410 Any gun can be concealed, I know people who CC full sized 1911's, but the pistol wasn't designed to be a CCW, and it's not a pistol the most people would recommend for a CCW.
If you don't already know there is a Taurus forum called Taurus Armed that has alot of info on the PT92 and what fits and what works and doesn't work.(great memebers too).
I have a 1994 built PT92(no rail w/decocker & lanyard loop)in blue that came with checkered wood grips from Taurus that I love! Finding a holster for mine was easy, but the railed PT92's are harder to find. I got a custom from CC Holsters thats fantastic. They do the railed PT92 now too. Very good prices!
@azlester Yeah I've been to Taurusarmed a few times, it's a great site. My PT92 is my favorite pistol, I love it more than my Glock, Sig, 1911 (both of them) and my S&W M&P, it's a fantastic pistol!
@futuresolider96 That depends on the situation, I actually have both, I love the PT92 more overall, it's more accurate, a better looking pistol, and feels better in my hand, but the Glock is what I would grab if I needed a pistol that would keep putting rounds down range even in the worst conditions.
@McMichaelb420 You can pick 'em up new for around $450 to $490 which is around $100 cheaper than the Beretta. Used I've seen them as low as $200 for some of the older models
@HeroCasey They're built at the same plant, by the same machines, and by the same people who used to build Beretta pistols. They were contracted to build Berettas before Taurus bought the building, machines and employeed the people, and officially bought the rights from Beretta to make a 92 pistol. with the exception of the position of the safety (which Taurus moved because consumers liked the 1911 style safety better) it is identical. Some just like Beretta better because of the name.
@LoveTechnoHateRock Thats weird, not sure why, this definitely ain't no airsoft. But They do make an airsoft version of the PT92 so if u just typed in Taurus PT92 without the airsoft, then this would pop up
my 1993 pt92 ss when i got it came it the one mag i need aother mag gotta be ss i cant find them anywhere ? anyone know where i can pick one up for thr good price
@x16 Does it have the safety on the slide or on the frame? If it has the lanyard ring chances are it is one of the earlier models, either late 80's or early 90's when they were identical to the Beretta.
@NeverEnuffAmmo the safety is on the frame. and yes it has the lanyard ring. its a very great gun i have put well over 1000 rounds and not once has it jammed or failed to eject. another thing is that the taurus emblem is following the title
@x16 If the safety is on the frame and it has the lanyard ring than it's probably a mid 90's model after they moved the safety to the frame but before they got rid of the lanyard.
Nice review. I have one for home defense weapon with tactical light. Had it for over 2 years, shot over thousand rounds thru it. I Had no problems to ftf or fte. Have a tight grouping at 25yrds. Well made firearm for being a copy of a Beretta. Saved half the money for another gun.
it's very nice see you talking about the qualities of this pistol beacuse here in brasil we have only a few options,so taurus is one of the best but in your country you can buy everything your money allow and is allways good see some quality with good price.(here a pistol like the 92 but in 380 ACP is about 1000 dollars or more, because we have a very restricted market) greetings from brasil!!
its really not a clone.Taurus bought the Berretta factory in Brazil along with berretta 92 parts and patent. The only thing that is really different is the decocker on the frame which most say was a good idea(more sturdy build).i think Taurus did just as good of job if not better the berretta did on there own gun, and its cheaper.
*sigh* why did Beretta want to make an alloy frame gun with slide cuts?
Why is the us army so concerned about weight yet equip infantry with unneeded biohazard gear, electric gadgets and 20+lbs ceramic armor that fractures??
What should I get pt92 or sigma? So many questions.
@elgalan812 Well thats a little tricky, I have seen some specialty compensators out there that are made for the Beretta that will fit the Taurus, but they're usually custom, best thing to do is get with your local gun shop and have them find one for u, the easy part will be getting the threaded barrel for the compensator to thread onto, u can just do a google search for "PT92 threaded barrel for sale" and you'll get several results. I know it's not much but hope it helps
Awsome Review ! i got my taurus pt92 in stainless steel, did alot of research b 4 buying it, this review was the turning point in my purchase, got also the "NC star" cost efficient tactical light that is VERY compatible with the Pt92. THANKS !!
@nolanhistory77 Hey cool, and congrats on the new pistol. It's a great gun, alot of fun and a quality pistol. Thanks 4 watching, and glad the vid helped u out!
Great review! Folks kept on telling me to buy Glock handguns and no doubt they're awesome handguns, but I've always wanted something like the M9. I'm an Air Force vet and I know the M9 is the gun we use. I had a tight budget so I didn't want to purchase a brand new Beretta so I researched and saw a Taurus PT92, along with looking at your review. I shot both at a range (M9 and the older PT92 model I bought for $325) and they both shot great. Thanks for the review!
@bo7451 Glad the review helped, I love the M9/92 style pistol, I thinks it's the ultimate platform for the 9mm round. Glad u liked the Taurus, they're great guns, and $325 is a great price for one!
I agree this is a great model. I had a PT99 and traded it in on a stupid Springfield XD. I never did end up liking the XD but it was the hot new thing and I thought I needed it. I still kick my self for get rid of the 99. I will however say that Tauruses Millennium Pro's are crap. I have the 140 and 145. The 145 has a issue with the slide catch, it will pop outside the frame and not catch the slide on the last round and the 140 had a broken safety and a weak firing pit issue.
@scb0421 Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of the Taurus polymer pistols, had a couple, and they just didn't seem to be as accurate or as well made as their steel and alloy framed semi-autos or their revolvers. And good luck with the 92c, those things are hard to find, and usually end up running as much as a new PT92. They're rare, and I'd love to get my hands on one. Thanks 4 watchin bro!
@caninecoach Yeah they've been around for awhile, and every one I've ever run across worked great. It's a great gun to own, especially when u factor in the cost!
@TEAMHONDAUSA Yeah I tried to be as detailed as possible, this was one of my older reviews, but I think it came out pretty good, thanks 4 watchin bro!
Are you sure? Because I'm Brazilian, and I have some Taurus too, and I don't thinks that PT stands for "Pistola da Taurus". You probably already know the translation to English, but in case you don't, pistola da taurus means "Taurus' Pistol". And that's kind of idiot. I still think it means that the pistol is made in Brazil. PT stands for Portuguese, which refers to Brazil. Everything that has PT on it is refered to Brazil, has something to do with Brazil (it's made here or something).
@NC77583 I only know what I've read on Taurus forums, and found on the web, haven't actually called and asked someone from Taurus. The consensus on the web is that PT plus a number means Taurus Pistol plus a designation which makes the model number, the same way that Smith & Wesson names alot of their pistols SW plus a number to make up their model numbers. S&W & Taurus used to be associated until the late 80s (both owned by the same parent company) so they may have gotten that from them.
Yea for sure man, when i think 9mm i think of this style. Fucking love beretta's :P i actually just bought one last friday, can't wait, get to pick mine up in 5 days :D
@hshadow86 The Taurus and the Beretta are practically identical, in most ways, with the exception of magazines, finish & safety/decocker position. I have however heard that some of the older model Taurus PT92's had a significantly lighter trigger pull due to that being the perfered way to have the trigger by the Brazillian Government, who were at the time the company's biggest client & the PT92 being what the Brazillian police & government agencies used, of course this was in the 80's & 90's
good thing he did the safety check after he would have shot his hand off lol, nice review though, been looking at getting one for awhile now, this helps

The Beretta 92 series and their clones can be concealed, the right holster and apparel make all the difference.
chrismc410 9 months ago
@chrismc410 Any gun can be concealed, I know people who CC full sized 1911's, but the pistol wasn't designed to be a CCW, and it's not a pistol the most people would recommend for a CCW.
NeverEnuffAmmo 9 months ago
Great review.
Very good prices!
azlester 10 months ago
@azlester Yeah I've been to Taurusarmed a few times, it's a great site. My PT92 is my favorite pistol, I love it more than my Glock, Sig, 1911 (both of them) and my S&W M&P, it's a fantastic pistol!
NeverEnuffAmmo 10 months ago
would you take this over a glock
futuresolider96 10 months ago
@futuresolider96 That depends on the situation, I actually have both, I love the PT92 more overall, it's more accurate, a better looking pistol, and feels better in my hand, but the Glock is what I would grab if I needed a pistol that would keep putting rounds down range even in the worst conditions.
NeverEnuffAmmo 10 months ago
i like them, my dad has one never had any problems with it except when we ran poopy aluminum case rounds through it

how much can i get these for in california or in vegas?
chrisfur2 11 months ago
@chrisfur2 New you should be looking at around $450, used anywhere from $250 to $400 depending on condition and age.
NeverEnuffAmmo 11 months ago
What's the average price on one of these??
McMichaelb420 11 months ago
@McMichaelb420 You can pick 'em up new for around $450 to $490 which is around $100 cheaper than the Beretta. Used I've seen them as low as $200 for some of the older models
NeverEnuffAmmo 11 months ago
@HeroCasey They're actually better, because of the safety.
Grubbernaut 11 months ago
Great review! Nicely done! I found it professional, objective and insightful. Keep it up man! :)
TheAgeOfExploration 11 months ago
@TheAgeOfExploration Thanks alot, glad u liked it bro!
NeverEnuffAmmo 11 months ago
@HeroCasey They're built at the same plant, by the same machines, and by the same people who used to build Beretta pistols. They were contracted to build Berettas before Taurus bought the building, machines and employeed the people, and officially bought the rights from Beretta to make a 92 pistol. with the exception of the position of the safety (which Taurus moved because consumers liked the 1911 style safety better) it is identical. Some just like Beretta better because of the name.

i found a soft air gun on a website called Taurus PT92 so i "youtubed" it and this came up ._.
LoveTechnoHateRock 11 months ago
@LoveTechnoHateRock Thats weird, not sure why, this definitely ain't no airsoft. But They do make an airsoft version of the PT92 so if u just typed in Taurus PT92 without the airsoft, then this would pop up

ok update my pt92 has a lanyard rind and i have to de-cock it by pulling back the hammer and pushing the trigger.
x16 11 months ago
i have an older model of the pt 92 possibly one of the first models
x16 11 months ago
@x16 Does it have the safety on the slide or on the frame? If it has the lanyard ring chances are it is one of the earlier models, either late 80's or early 90's when they were identical to the Beretta.
NeverEnuffAmmo 11 months ago
@NeverEnuffAmmo the safety is on the frame. and yes it has the lanyard ring. its a very great gun i have put well over 1000 rounds and not once has it jammed or failed to eject. another thing is that the taurus emblem is following the title
x16 11 months ago

NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
its really not a clone.Taurus bought the Berretta factory in Brazil along with berretta 92 parts and patent. The only thing that is really different is the decocker on the frame which most say was a good idea(more sturdy build).i think Taurus did just as good of job if not better the berretta did on there own gun, and its cheaper.
aklane666 1 year ago
@aklane666 Yeah I know, at about 8 minutes into the vid I explained the background of the pistol and gave all the details on the factoty in Brazil.

Holy fuck thought this was a airsoft review! Until u said home defense :P
Piraka1997 1 year ago
*sigh* why did Beretta want to make an alloy frame gun with slide cuts?
Why is the us army so concerned about weight yet equip infantry with unneeded biohazard gear, electric gadgets and 20+lbs ceramic armor that fractures??
What should I get pt92 or sigma? So many questions.
dukenukemthreed 1 year ago
What type of compensator can i get for it and where? Let me know.
elgalan812 1 year ago
@elgalan812 Well thats a little tricky, I have seen some specialty compensators out there that are made for the Beretta that will fit the Taurus, but they're usually custom, best thing to do is get with your local gun shop and have them find one for u, the easy part will be getting the threaded barrel for the compensator to thread onto, u can just do a google search for "PT92 threaded barrel for sale" and you'll get several results. I know it's not much but hope it helps

NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
Great review! Folks kept on telling me to buy Glock handguns and no doubt they're awesome handguns, but I've always wanted something like the M9. I'm an Air Force vet and I know the M9 is the gun we use. I had a tight budget so I didn't want to purchase a brand new Beretta so I researched and saw a Taurus PT92, along with looking at your review. I shot both at a range (M9 and the older PT92 model I bought for $325) and they both shot great. Thanks for the review!
bo7451 1 year ago
@bo7451 Glad the review helped, I love the M9/92 style pistol, I thinks it's the ultimate platform for the 9mm round. Glad u liked the Taurus, they're great guns, and $325 is a great price for one!
NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
But Sunday I am getting a 92 again. I am getting a 92c the compact version. I am pretty excited about it.
scb0421 1 year ago
I agree this is a great model. I had a PT99 and traded it in on a stupid Springfield XD. I never did end up liking the XD but it was the hot new thing and I thought I needed it. I still kick my self for get rid of the 99. I will however say that Tauruses Millennium Pro's are crap. I have the 140 and 145. The 145 has a issue with the slide catch, it will pop outside the frame and not catch the slide on the last round and the 140 had a broken safety and a weak firing pit issue.
scb0421 1 year ago
@scb0421 Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of the Taurus polymer pistols, had a couple, and they just didn't seem to be as accurate or as well made as their steel and alloy framed semi-autos or their revolvers. And good luck with the 92c, those things are hard to find, and usually end up running as much as a new PT92. They're rare, and I'd love to get my hands on one. Thanks 4 watchin bro!
NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
I owned one about 15 years ago and loved it.. I traded it for an old car. I plan to get another one as soon as I can. Never had a problem with it.

PT 100 is a .40 cal. Just a question: What does the PT stands for? Does it mean it's made in Brazil? PLEASE ANSWER!!! Thank you.
NC77583 1 year ago
@NC77583 Pistola do Taurus, that's where they get PT
NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
Are you sure? Because I'm Brazilian, and I have some Taurus too, and I don't thinks that PT stands for "Pistola da Taurus". You probably already know the translation to English, but in case you don't, pistola da taurus means "Taurus' Pistol". And that's kind of idiot. I still think it means that the pistol is made in Brazil. PT stands for Portuguese, which refers to Brazil. Everything that has PT on it is refered to Brazil, has something to do with Brazil (it's made here or something).
NC77583 1 year ago
@NC77583 I only know what I've read on Taurus forums, and found on the web, haven't actually called and asked someone from Taurus. The consensus on the web is that PT plus a number means Taurus Pistol plus a designation which makes the model number, the same way that Smith & Wesson names alot of their pistols SW plus a number to make up their model numbers. S&W & Taurus used to be associated until the late 80s (both owned by the same parent company) so they may have gotten that from them.
NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
Yeah, now that you explained it, I think you're right. Thanks for the answer, and btw, great vid! "Keep up the fire!"

hshadow86 1 year ago
@hshadow86 Well that's the most important part of any gun, is getting your hands on it cause not every gun is for everybody. Thanks 4 watchin bro!!
NeverEnuffAmmo 1 year ago
@NeverEnuffAmmo Absolutely. Just out of curiosity, do you know if this model has any less of a double action trigger pull than the Beretta?
Subbed, btw.
hshadow86 1 year ago
@hshadow86 The Taurus and the Beretta are practically identical, in most ways, with the exception of magazines, finish & safety/decocker position. I have however heard that some of the older model Taurus PT92's had a significantly lighter trigger pull due to that being the perfered way to have the trigger by the Brazillian Government, who were at the time the company's biggest client & the PT92 being what the Brazillian police & government agencies used, of course this was in the 80's & 90's
