@MrAspect5 you musnt b a great welder so. have 2 welger 220 and a mc560 welger is a better machine.always had mc hale wrappers have a hs 2000 the last 3 seasons brilliant machine
if you have the room for it tube wrapping is the way to go, your cost per bale is lower cause you don't waste plastic on the ends of the bale so you can put it around the edges and it keeps better
Yeah i've seen a couple of videos of tube wrapping on here and it looks to be a great idea. I've never seen it used here in Ireland though and I'm not sure it would catch on. Most yards here tend to be fairly tight without enough room for a tube. One thing i did wonder about though was how do you stop the opened end of the bale from going bad when the tube is opened in winter?
when the tube is opened it's time to start feeding it so it doesn't spoil cause we go through it so quick, we do feeders and we put in about 500-600 a year and also have about 180 brood cows so there's bales coming out all the time and going to the field
thats a shit way of stacking. you should place the bale on top of the back row of bales rather than on both rows of bales and also get that seat tended to
I'm not 100% sure how much it cost but i think it was around the €2-3k mark (+ VAT). We saw a lovely twin cylinder Lombardini powerpack at the ploughing last year so that will be on the wrapper this year. That was more expensive though, heading fo €5k i think. I'll see can i get more details at the weekend
I've found Visqueen polywrap to be pretty good plastic. We usually use Winner net, but have also used edge to edge and tama net, both of which are good
thats a fair bit. i work wit a contracter in kerry an we did 10000 last season but it was an exceptional year. dont think we will get another 1 like it. is the McHale the only baler u have??
before this year he always used John Deere balers. 578's for the last few years. THis year anyway he went for the mchale and i'd say he'll stick with them for a good while yet. Because it had been wet for so long last summer the work just piled up so to get through the backlog he hired in a second hand JD 578 from the local dealer. But in a normal year he'd just run the one baler
I suppose in good conditions we'd bale around 8-9 mph. Not 100% sure but it would be around that. And its not too fast really cos it picks all the crop and makes a good bale! Plus when you have a big day's baling to get through you can't afford to be crawling around the field!
The brackets that held it on were only maid from light tubular steel and they didn't last very long. I suppose the vibrations from all the road work caused them to crack and that was it then!
Big enough as far as baled silage is concerned. I suppose around 13,000 bales a year. Depends though, it can vary from year to year. We don't really do anything in naas though, sallins, bodenstown, kerdiffstown, kill are about as far as we would go in that drection

them mchale bailers are highly overrated. i have a 560 and a welger rp220 profi and the welger is a far better bailer .
