  • Todd Kollin rules! He is my POP-hero!

  • why are people converting derbi gpr's i love ebikes but they are rare already

  • why are people converting derbi gpr's i love ebikes but they are rare already

  • I don't inderstand why if it has 3 wires they call it A/C it's realty brushless D/C moter!!!!!!!

  • how is the site call from todd kollin?

  • ...so u are runing an AC motor, on battery......

  • yea it uses a three phase inverter.

  • yes he is using a Curtis driver = frequency generator with variable speed drive

  • He blinks. A lot.

  • czmn

  • lglkhpokj

  • How about an idea that he could work on instead of downing the work all together. I think it's a great bike; batteries are advancing every yr, so you might be completely wrong. Or, batteries could be outlawed by our govt in a few yrs, never know. Either way, dont put down the idea since he's at least trying to make a difference.

  • where can I find this motor or kit

  • it only lasts 15 miles

  • I love the business. Taking existing things, a little concern for the earth, a little knowhow, a little experimenting and Ebay and you have a business plan. One question however, why do you have to change the current from AC to DC. I don't know much about electricity, what would occurr if you didn't

  • yes you will you will burn into crisp when thunderstorm apraoches. But the fun is in missing the raindrops to the motor and geting home.

  • what are you talking about ?

  • Why did he use an ac motor? What is the advantage? horsepower? The world will convert to electric transportation

eventually, but it will be just as expensive as internal combustion, because the powers that be , be the powers that be.

  • My questions: Is the motor waterproof? What happens when it rains? Am I going to be electrocuted if I ride something like this in a rainstorm?

  • are you electrocuted in your car ? regular motorcycle ? Then why an electric bike ?

  • This is cool!! I started looking up this stuff about a month ago and me and my dad are gonna build one. i'm not building it because of the enviorment, I'm building one so I can ride it to Work for pennies instead of dollars!!! wooo!! Hooo!!

  • By not spending money on petrol, you ARE helping the environment whether you like it or not.

  • Not really - you could shift your spending to another resource destroying concept. I'm not saying keep wasting oil, just saying that no matter what we do we are never going to be 100% efficient and fix what we have done.

  • This is the new rock & roll, the true pioneering spirit, screw those politicians and all their B.S. They are there to slow down everything and keep you waiting, best thing is to DO IT YOURSELF. This guy has the right idea.

  • Your expensive charger is probably ALSO made in China so... lol not everything made in China is "cheap". What ISN'T made in China these days!

  • What is made Taiwan.

  • hehe, so true

  • search electrocross, off road electric moto. best toy to own!

  • This is the smartest Vehichle I've ever seen. GO GREEN!

  • 10min charge my ass. The battery cannot accept that rate and you'll toast it.

  • The fastest car in the world was electric and it used over 1,000 D Ni cad Batteries. I used the 7.2 Volt Ni cad battery which is 6 D batteries on my RC Car. The Charger took 10 minuets for a quick charge. With a 100 chargers, you could charge the fastest car in the world in ten minuets. Would be expensive, but mathematically can be done.

  • The first internal combustion engine cars had top speeds of a whopping 5 mi. hr. now look where there are. A few more years of R and D and who knows where it will take the EV's

  • Absolutely nowhere unless the government supports it.

  • All it take is everyone to support and the government will have to comply

  • Government doesn't have to support it first. People just need to MAKE them support it by creating EV's.

Oh yeah, and you can't charge the batteries in 10minutes. I would say fastest charge would be about 1 1/2hrs for a battery that fits on a bike.

  • I'll let you know in awhile since I'm building one. =)

  • Are you building one from scratch? There is someone here that built a bike which charges in like 2 1/2hrs (not the best charging system) and he made a "Baja" car that charges in 5hrs and drives interstate speeds!

  • "wet" deep cycles can be charged very very quickly but the quicker you charge them the more water is lost, they boil, in the electrolyte so you have to refill them with distilled water and if you repeatedly rapid charge them some of the sulfuric acid will evaporate and adding the correct amount of sulfuric acid is a black art. I agree batteries that size shouldn't be charged at more than 15 amps so that they don't boil. But if you want a GREAT lead acid battery charger check out schmacher on ebay

  • lazzer408 said "Absolutely nowhere unless the government supports it."

If the US Gov't doesn't support it, some other Government will and get the jump on the US for the technology, brand awareness and early market penetration.

The US's love affair with oil looks like being their economic undoing. It has already begun.

  • What I was saying is there are no "revolutionary products" being manufactured that compete with products that were already manufactured. Batteries would be a good example. Any high capacity battery comes with a high price. Why? Because you can do more work with it. It doesn't have a thing to do with production costs. CPUs would be another example. ...and on and on.

  • Other countries have EVs all over the place. Why not here? Ours were crushed because the government wanted to push hydrogen (so they claim)

  • Bullshit...the free market will decide...it always has and always will...

  • I dunno what country you live in but in the states there's too many politicians with oil holdings.

  • Yah, So? Politicans didn't stop Henry Ford.

  • yer they did they stopped him making cars from HEMP in 1941

    and using HEMP for fuel

    wake up America

  • Hemp? isn't that the shit they make rope, and pot out of?

  • Dope and hemp are actually different. They make rope out of all sorts of stuff - even metals. While i do think its stupid that hemp isn't used more often (the fibre in fibreglass/carbon fibre is a killer) - i don't think its the greatest thing of all time like the guy above.

  • what would you have to do to hook up a123 batteries to an EBike? how many would you need? series parallel? and what would be the best motor for these batteries?

  • man i have a nice bike with a broken engine!!! i wanna do that! but i live in the dominican republic.. i can get the batteries and the motor but dunno about the other stuff.. is there somekind of plug and play you can order with the voltage changer, charger and accelerator?

  • respect

  • respect

  • I live in the bay area, and went by his shop. This is an old video and lately has coveted an R1. This guy Is great. Actually you can order a book and learn how to do it yourself.

  • Guys, a little patience, please! 5-10 years ago almost NOBODY was doing this stuff. Now there are people all over the world getting in to it. Can't help but feel that we're in the first days of a revolution.WATCH! LISTEN! Support the dreamers and tinkerers! We're ALL gonna win.

  • i bet soon the future will come very fast

  • Hey i ride and i got to say this is the future. Eventually all bikes will be either hybrid or complete electric and to top it off clutch less.(with optional finger shifter) google killacycle and see how fast that bike takes off, performance improves 100 fold with electric b/c no combustion is involved.

  • how far on a charge ?

  • With respect to everyone that's calling this bike weak: Development's gotta start somewhere! You can't just wave your hands and make perfect motors or superconductors appear. R&D needs to be done to make better batteries and better motors. Don't expect perfect stuff to come out of the blue!

  • sacrilege. im down with the green movement & cats like these 2 dudes will save us all after the apocolypse. but putting 18 horses under a beautiful machine is just WRONG. i got 60 in 1st or 2nd. dont desicrate a 'cycle. some things must be left sacred

  • this is bomb. innovators are totally respectable. sweeter than a scooter....be chillin while you pay for gas...hook it up to a solar relay charger and then you are truly innovative

  • i love electric everything! but i thats weak! only 60 mph??? weak!

  • have fun gettin squished on the highway

  • for cool stuff go to bikers inner circle

    internet show

    big7productions

  • This is a great bike!

You can find a link to the Electric Motorsport company website, along with many other electric motocross and electric motorcycle company links on EVtransPortal dot com

  • only goes 70!!!! ill never buy 1

  • WTF!! Die

  • how much for 1 like that?

  • Have you thought of using a snowmobile belt and pulley and clutch set up? Like having an automatic transmission. Hooah!

  • how much would you charge to make me one?

  • Current production sold out... :-(

  • You're ace man. Save the planet.

  • Great work Todd but you need to set pipes trumpets to get full sound effect on this hybrid...
