  • Aha! It's called a shank. Thanks for the video.

  • Love how she always says 'shank'. Reminds me of hanging with puerto ricans in prison..good times!

  • Thank you very much! You're the best!

  • Thank you so much. This was extremely helpful :)

  • Video is too blurry.

  • hi.. how to sew a button on bag but i don't want the thread to show inside the bag.. i want it to be in between inner and outer fabric. because sometimes, after sewing done, i suddenly think of add on a button on the fabric.

    pls help..thx :)

  • Thank you so much for this! I like my new button better than the original that was on my shorts. Very helpful tutorial.

  • Thank you, this was very helpful!

  • thankyou so much. you help me sew two buttons back onto my favorite jacket.

  • Very good, helped me. Thank you very much.

  • Thank you for the time and help! You have a nice voice too, I know voices as an audio engineer, your voice is soft with a mild crack (nice touch). The twat who said your voice is annoying was suffering from withdrawals that were crack induced. Keep up the great vids!!!

  • You have a high-pitched tone through most of the video. Quite annoying.

  • Thanks Grandma! you're rock-tastique!

  • Thanks for this. Clear and concise exampled with black thread on white, FLAT (obvious you'd have thought!), material. No matter how many times Mothers, Sisters, etc will show guys this, we will always need to come back to a resource like this.

  • Lady, many thanks, I sewed it for 10min which is nice, I hope I didnt mess anything but seems pretty good to me. Great video!

  • Thanks Grandma! You save this poor student's shirt!

  • Really wanted to see the 4-hole button. Also, there are better ways to thread needle and to tie the original knot in the thread.

  • Thank you, very helpful.

  • dido!

  • Thanks. This was very helpful.

There was a time I had to either give up my shirt or go to my mom to ask for sewing. For a man at 29, going to mom is hard:) Thanks for making me independent and feel under control.

    You are a true hero!

  • Whatever happened to the 4-hole button? :P

  • Thanks for your video. I do have problems at the end when tying the knot... the knot itself never ends up close to the fabric. How do I prevent that? My knots always end up higher than I want no matter what I try. :)

  • I NEED TO REPLACE a four hole button on a shirt and also a pair of pants, so why do you sew the shank button? i watched this video and i just dont get it! what is wrong with me?

  • First, I have to say that there's nothing wrong with you. My sister can't sew on a button either and she's watched me replace them in person. I bet you do something I can't do fabulously.

With a four hole button, you push the needle from the back of the fabric and into one of the button's holes and then back down through a different hole and through the back of the fabric. Repeat this for the other two holes. I always do the whole process at least four times.

  • @whitepinek You're so positive! :) Love your videos!

  • Thanks for the video. Very useful way to tie off the knot at the end.

  • hey I have a punching bag and it riped. can u tell me how to fix and repiar some thing like that. I put tape on it put i want to repiar the rip because I think it could rip more with out sewing it. please help me
