where is this, I'm from Texas and we hardly get these kind of thunderstorms, this is just beautiful, good job capturing it. Please let me know where this is.
Awesome vids, we had some great thunderstorms here in Southern California mountain area a few weeks ago, its was very similar to your video...Awesome again!!!
i wish i could see a storm like this... in southern california we havnt had a direct storm over us since october of 2010... so ya 10 months... so three weeks is nothing lol... but anyway great shots dude!!!
@SDThunderstorms I know you wrote your comment like three months ago but I remember those thunderstorms of October 2010, it was pretty epic for So.Cal standards.
@StormsFishingNMore I even say 'frame by frame'...but at 30fps, that's 30 frames per second...you advance 1 frame on the editor...but does it really advance 30 frames in 1 second< don't think so. The there's playback rate...slow it down, save it, add that to the editor, then do frame by frame...I like to do that. And yet there's another way I do it..a secret ;)
@Tstormer just for some reason when i put a video on the editing program and then make it into a movie it misses the fast stuff like that first bolt. that bolt has 2 strands and the program only gave it one. watch my "lightning bolt" video thats the same bolt as the first one on here. the difference can easily be seen.
@StormsFishingNMore You want to see a super fast frame rate? I'll send you a link, it's really cool. Dont know if you seen it and the accompany link for super fast fps cams..I would love to get one.
@StormsFishingNMore I think it depends on the frame rate of the cam...30fps is the usual, but I think lightning is too fast for it so it doesn't really capture all of the lightning...no what I mean? A much faster rate, like 1,000fps or more, you will see more. So you see that one stroke with multiple leaders only once, while the main bolt fades. Then there's aberrations too.
@StLouisStormSpotter man i know why the frame by frame images dont look like the actual real speed images, for some reason when i edited this my dumb program didnt get the whole flash in there. when i watch the real video you see the whole strike that looks exactly like the frame by frame then when i watch it on here it didnt even capture the same strikes. weird i dont know how the program misses it. i guess its so fast that the program dont capture 100% of it.
@StormsFishingNMore Just read this after i commented...this too. Dont know what editor you use...I use several. I can toggle frames, or advance frames..but if i use the buttons to advance, i notice i miss some action, so I do frame by frame manually. (sliding the advance) Then there's another way I do it. still very cool bro!
@StLouisStormSpotter everything is real. just the way the clouds were and the lightning was so fast you cant see all the branches coming out from it until i did it frame by frame like that.
beautiful video, thnx for uploading

Tstormer 6 months ago
@Tstormer yeah didnt realize going frame by frame like that would make it look fake. not sure if i like doing that or not.
