YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

This movie just showed last night at our local library in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I noticed this clip used the song "Planet Claire" by the B52s, which was not in the movie itself. The Gerry Lopez scene at the end was truly the Surfer Nomad way of life of isolation...trying to find that song that was played at that point. It was perfect for the movie (words especially).

The DVD does not include the late great Vicount Ted Deerhurst segment! You must get the VHS version for this, one of the best parts, IMO.

I had this movie back in the 80s! Epic, truly epic.

Fave bits are Sharon O'Neill singing 'asian paradise' while the boys are in Bali, LRB singing Time For A Cool Change on the sth coast of Oz, and the closing bit with Jerry Lopez camping in the bush in Java and the commentator goes 'but he's got all day, there are no crowds here, at .... Garajadan' LOL

I'd love to find it on DVD

This is the best surf movie of all time: beautiful shots 'round the world, great soul surfers, soundtrack, humor, etc. Waited a decade to see this movie until it came out on vhs but it was flawed with an awful narration and cut short right after the end and before the credits. It was supposed to include "Kong Island". Got ripped off! Anyway, watched it on DVD last night(great!)except the narration. Why different narrator here? Love this movie & the music; got the LP, only 10 songs anythng on CD?

wah, so dads resentment has deluded onto to the next generation and is now brooding hate. If you've have nothing good to say... say nothing. I really despise the hate scene, i grew up with it, so i can rip it harder than the rest but i would prefer to keep things cool. Why not grab some of pops old footage and slap up something new... Anyway, I'm sure you're pops ear bashings would seem like piss talk when put in perspective. Enough said, go and root your girlfriend or something.

jack screwed over my old man, he was one of the first surf movie makers and made a name for himself, he worked hard.. jack came along and wouldnt rest until mmy dad was out of business, he did anything from copying my old mans video covers, to hiring guys to smash my dads camera at pipe just so he could get the only good footage... now tell me jacks a good guy.... jacks comes across as a nice guy but when you get to know him he will fuck you over like he does to every other hard working person
