  • Its rare to find an nes music that last about 2-3 min before looping. Had this artifact when I was little.

  • Amazing how they could squeeze such an amazing tune out of that NES sound chip :)

  • This music is epic!

    Silius forever!!!

  • God, this music is fucking great! Soooo EPIC!

  • this whole soundtrack sounds like it was written by Judas Priest it's awesome. either Judas Priest or Iron Maiden (Somewhere In Time era)

  • awesome music :)

  • I remember in the european version that I had the main character wore blue armor and a helmet. In the US version he had a big blonde hairdo. I also remember the fantaaaaastic soundtrack.

  • @Fistwagon, yeah and the character was smaller too. Jay looks like this in the US version because it was supposed to be a Terminator game, but Sunsoft lost the license.

  • SO FUCKING SICK!!!!

  • One of the top 10 best NES themes ever

  • Sunsoft were good at music! My favorite: Gremlins 2!

  • Yeah all games seem to be about anymore is graphics and absurd features. Gaming is officially, 100% commercialized.

  • Even Final Fantasy has become a fan feature... I miss the days of instant classics and buried gems! None of the games from these days will live on...

  • You might want to check out the Mass Effect games.

    Fucking amazing games they are.

  • I will sometime.

  • Oh well. Guess that's why freeware games are for in these days to make up for it.

    Awesome song though.

  • You do realise Silius was originally a Terminator game, right?

  • no. it was originally a japanese game with a different main character. when it was brought over to the US it WAS going to be a Terminator game but Sunsoft lost the rights.

  • @grapenutsrbt

I wonder what changes they made to make it a Terminator game, obviously the boss but also the background in stage 1 looks very fitting.

  • @RojerWilco

I consider this game loosely based off Terminator, just so I can call it a Terminator game whilst being somewhat correct.

  • @tarrker

Maybe not quite 100%, at least every once in a while we get a few gems on Xbox Live/PSN/WiiWare like the ReBirth series and MegaMan 9, made in 2D and built from the ground up like the kickass games of the past.

  • @Jacob9k1 And now Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Don't care what the whiny purists said, it's on par with the Genesis originals in every way.

  • one of the greatest

  • hey 8 bit boys used this in there late gamer song XD

  • I still have this game and the music just keeps amazing me all over again! Great!

  • This game had THE best music out of any NES game.

  • I AGREE DUDE

  • I will not agree 100% JUST because he said "music" instead of "set of songs", because for me, the best one still is the first level of Batman. But there is nothing like the set of Journey to Sillius. It is amazing to see all the details, like the drums and the bass...

    Cheers!!

  • @Pyro2022 what about the mario and megaman series, and you just cant leave legends of zelda outside

  • probably the best 8-bit music i've ever heard.

  • probably? it IS the best 8-bit music

  • Today's developers overlook the power of a good soundtrack. They should look back to this era for guidance.

  • No kidding, they to make music for games nowadays Simple, catchy and effective. The last memorable soundtrack that i heard from a game was Mega Man 9...Wario Land Shake it!, Super paper mario and maybe World of Goo!

  • every time when i play this game, hear this song in 2nd level always get me pump up and go kick some ass

  • Sunsoft had it goin on back in the day.

  • Yeah they did, they were the best company IMO when it came to the original NES, but once 16 bit era came.. they fell over..

My god they put there heart and soul into the music and graphics of there games though. such as this one, Batman, Gremlins 2, and Blaster Master.

  • This is Van Helsing's theme song in ACWL.

  • Really, does there exist another NES track that goes on as long as this one without looping? Seriously impressive.

  • There were only few NES tunes reaching this length (Action 52 music where same patterns are played in different times don't count). Most notably Codemasters and Tim Follin made a few-minute songs.

  • Probably my favorite song on the game here. I remember having a challenge from one of my friends to go through this stage without getting hit once and I did it.

Oh man those where the days.

  • Thanks for uploading! I used to pause the level just to listen to this tune.

  • hahaah so would I... I had a Yamaha PSR410 and would turn it on to play along with it! those were the golden days!

  • track sound tight

  • One of my favorite 8-bit tracks!

  • Wow! Length of this track is impressive!

  • hey man,, do this for the genesis game midnight resistence, ill love ya forever,,,, i love what you did here with these stages, its great!!!! thanks alot, matt,,, savannah GA

  • man you guys are right all the stages are great music you should here the music on the genesis game midnight resistence it has to be the genesis though its even better than the stand up arcade game thats the muic i am after. guile stage from street fighter 2 is also a good one. man thankyou for posting this all hail youtube

  • Right, that's it, I've been a slave to these uploads for far too long - where can I find som decent mp3s of these tracks?

And, if possible, where can I find some of other great game themes?

Most VGM albums only seem to have about 10-15 different games (but a shitload of tracks from the) and none of them are from the games I'm after.

  • google galbadia hotel

  • Best music in the game right here.

  • A man after my own heart.
