There was a much better documentary done a few years ago by a Pakistani, he got actual video of snow leapers, not just photos. Including one hunting and chasing a sheep down a hill. The sheep fell in a river and escaped when the leaper didn't jump in after it.
I'm proud that my country -India has 2 of the most beautiful, endangered animals! The handsome Snow Leopard and the fierce orange Tiger! Only 1400 tigers are left in India and about 300 Snow leopards.
People of that region shoot those animals and skin their pelts to make money. Many of those people live in complete poverty and the luring price tag of the animals pelt is very enticing to kill such an amazing creature. I don't approve of what they are doing, but i can understand why they decide to shoot the animal. They care about feeding their families rather than perserving an endangered species. Don't agree with it, just playing devil's advocate and seeing the other side.
These animals dont harm us. We harm them. We steal their habitat. We kill them for simple things like clothing? I would take a bullet for any of these snow leopards or any animals endangered. I love animals more than people.
hi i am from hunza and i able to film snow leopard in my backyard he killed my 11animal in just one night but i do kill him and i make film of him every year 5 snow leopard killed by local people . so help me to give awareness to the people

I would love to take this job, volunteer available.Lucky u guys, getting paid too.I was in Nubra Valley where locals told me many stories and how dreadful this animal was, nightmare for shepherds.Excellent work.
@ArBiTeR0000Tactical Yes, why is it so easy for me to love animals, and so difficult for me to love other humans? Sometimes I'm ashamed of being human - we suck so hard.
for the last picture they show, they should have put it on a poster saying: i'm going, going to be extinct if people keep on killing me,only you can save us all from extinction
well done steve for putting the camera spotlight on this beautiful endangered cat. I hope she has a long and happy life in this freezing remote habitat. Local people and Snow Leopard Conservancy are doing great job protecting this special cat.

They have one of these beautiful creatures in Dudley zoo England, it's enclosure is no more than 40feet square, far smaller than the penguin pen, I'm not ashamed to say I cried for the first time since my nan died after leaving this zoo. The only other person who knew this was my girlfriend, iwas 26 I'm 31 now. Makes me sad still now.
haha for all you people who say proudly that you have snow leopard on your macs: Apple never thought that through very well did they? Let's name our OS after a cat that is going extinct! haha
@bodaggin maybe thats exactly what they did. Earlier OSXnames: kodiak, cheetah, puma, jaguar, panther, tiger, leopard, and now snowleopard. all endagered species, theres always a predecessor. and also, i think it gives somewhat awarness of these species that should be protected. And yes, you should be proud having a cat on the mac. You just dont understand it ;)

@EpicHawk Bunch of crap? Why else would it have white fur to camoflauge into the snow? Why else would it have canine teeth to tear meat from prey? Why else would it have pads on its paws to be stealthy so it can hunt? God snapped his magical fingers and it all happened right?

3:22 okay, that cat wanted to fuck that rock, it's a retarded animal that's hard to find, why would anyone give a shit?
(Just kidding, snow leopards are beautiful animals, we should clone some and try to increase their population... well, when we have the technology... I know it sounds far-stretched... but there are scientists working on it, in 20 years, maybe we'll be able to fix some of the shit caused by humans).
please, PLEASE take me along next time. i am serious. i am a journalist and have worked for a conservation agency for 20 years. my greatest interest lies in making the public aware of the threatened and endangered feline species. oh, and by the way, snow leopards happen to be my favorite species. thank you for sharing your story with us.
They can hunt with their peripheral vision, stalking a false prey while the real victim doesn't realize they are being hunted, making a kill without making eye contact.
you can obtain 2 of the pictures the showed here by installing the new snow leopard on the mac....just wait until someone uploads them or search google images

@gtclaan I don't know if it was produced in Pakistan, but the guy who was tracking them was a Pakistani who had quit his job to study snow-leopards.
In another part they visited a village to hear stories from the locals and a snow leopard was suddenly right there near the village.

4' long with a 3' long tail I think if it had wings it could fly. Sphinx!? Is it's tail actually larger than it's body?

please, PLEASE take me along next time. i am serious. i am a journalist and have worked for a conservation agency for 20 years. my greatest interest lies in making the public aware of the threatened and endangered feline species. oh, and by the way, snow leopards happen to be my favorite species. thank you for sharing your story with us.
sincerely, barbara dematteis

The Leopard is the greatest of all big cats.
They can hunt with their peripheral vision, stalking a false prey while the real victim doesn't realize they are being hunted, making a kill without making eye contact.
