  • I keep raving about Dwayne Croft, but I can't help it -- he's one of my favorites. I remember listening to the radio broadcast of this, when the Count entered and sang his first line (you can hear it in this clip), Mr. Croft's voice had such presence. I still remember how it sounded on the radio well over ten years ago.

  • Is there a DVD of this particular production? I Want it.

  • @JPM2875 Sadly no, but they air it no TV sometimes, see if you can catch it and tape it! =)

    Parlo d'amor con me"

Does he mean he masturbates? LOL

  • Glad to see catfights werent a modern innovation

  • I love Cherubino's portrayal, typical page who's love for women is in the right place. His hands, however, sometimes stray at the wrong ones hehehehe!!!

  • Fake politeness turned into an opera!!! What genius!

  • i love the duet via resti servito its hilarious and it is amazingly written and perfectly performed

  • BARTOLI THE BEST!!!!!!!!! See 9:20

  • @jaitower83 Haha thats the best scream ever. I also think Bartoli is the best :D

  • This is how opera should be - well-acted, great chemistry, fluid choreography, stunning costumes (apart from the Count's mullet and baby-olied physique that gives him a vague resemblance to Fabio). Who is Cherubino in this? She's fantastic?

  • Susanne Mentzer. :o) A marvelous Cherubino indeed (I think that was one of her signature roles).

  • How can they memorize ITALIAN???? They are SOOO GOOOD! :-D

  • That's 300 years of tradition passed down to the present opera lovers. I can only imagine how much pressure the singers has to go through to live up to the singers of olde!!

Cherubino was performed exceptionally well! Bravo!

  • Im going to see this opera live for the first time in april this year (2010) My only opera experience is Die Zauberflöte and that is more of an operett (Singspiel) Im trilled to listen to it!

  • THEY ARE SO FUNNY! I am Playing Marcellina in college right now its tough I DONT KNOW ITALIAN GRRRRRRRR

  • I love Wendy White! She's such an amazing "mezzo".

  • Oh... "we didn't know this" this lady who sings Cherubino is amazing. When you turn the volumne all the way up it still isn't piercing!

  • The chemistry between these two is amazing. They show the barbed, needle-y politeness so well. What beautiful performances!

  • I love their fake politeness lol.

  • +9.2

  • Absolutely superb, thank you so much. Where did you get it from, is it possible to get it also? Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • This is marvelous! What a Susanna, what a Cherubino! Superb! Thank you a hundred times!

Heh, Cherubino was always one of my fav Mozart boys. You can't help but love the little rascal. ;)
