  • i use ubuntu with gnome 3.2 i can't stand windows now and mac i feel almost in home

  • @Reallush you know you can use Adobe CS5 Photoshop on Ubuntu using Wine. I use it now on Ubuntu 11.10 when I need some extra features that GIMP doesn't have.

  • @webDes33 Ubuntu is derived from Debian Linux. No their Linux is not the same as the others. It's like saying Mac OS X is the same as FreeBSD, because they referenced off of it. Ubuntu's development team has done a great job at making Ubuntu it's own OS and it's definitely my default now. Ubuntu to me is more professional than any other Linux available. It's definitely the only ProAm Linux out that competes against Windows and Mac OS X.

I'm developing premium C++ software for it now using Qt :)

  • Linus is a great backup/web browse OS but for other things I'd choose windows or mac since those 2 OS's are able to use Adobe's software.. I heard Gimp was so great.. I installed it.. and after opening.. I was like.. how the hel am i gonna work with this..and there goes Ubuntu's graphic editor..

( On Ubuntu right now though^^)

  • I can't believe you can download ubuntu for free, awesome.

  • Ubuntu 11.10 is awesome and premium softwares are now making their way in.

  • @yanike linuX and Ubuntu is the same? or is it a version of linux?

  • here it is 10-7-11 about 1.5 years after this up loaded and Ubuntu has grown tremendous and it is still what i consider a power user os if your going to do any thing more them web and email and chat over the Internet but it has come a long way and the only thing i can not do on Ubuntu is watch netflix and high end gaming other then that is is a very good and solid os

and correct it works so much better then xp on older systems like this amd 32bit xp2100 with a 9600xt video card and 1 gig ram

  • IF WINDOWS SLIPS AWAY OS X WILL TAKE ITS PLACE

GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE CHRIS YOU MAC LOVING WHORE

  • windows doesn't need to go away for linux to get popular. they can coexist. linux isnt about pwning the competition its about having a choice and being free.

  • @cokacutter agree with you 100% i use Ubuntu

  • Well, I dual boot Ubuntu and Win 7 on my laptop. Whenever I have an issue with Windows (say, a corrupt file just shuts down my system), I boot up Ubuntu, and it friggin auto fixes the file (in Windows) before it does anything else.

I use Windows for Media based tasks, and torrenting (it's hella easier to torrent on Windows).

I use Ubuntu for virus free web browsing....basically, there is no porn I cannot watch, as there are VERY FEW viruses that can even come close to affecting Ubuntu.

  • @ChannelingusXIVC I think they're just being fucking hipsters lol...

  • I think the scope of this Ubuntu Review was somewhat limited and shortsighted. Linux as a platform represent's a whole different philosophy on software in general compared to Windows/Mac and proprietary software. Free/Open Source software has proven itself to be highly successful using peer review and a decentralized development model giving the user not free as in price but free as in freedom software. It's only a matter of time and Linux will develop and be highly successful on the desktop.

  • This is how i see the whole situation

Windows - For average computer user's (any where from kids to adults)

Mac - For Moderate people who are trying to maintain more upgrade ability on their system's(teen's to adults')

Linux - For the Inovated user who is interested in learning programing and/or is interested in open source editing(teen's to adults)

  • Linux / Ubuntu good or bad for 3D / Compositing applications? Such as Maya, zBrush, Final Cut Pro, etc?

  • @depletable Linux is BAD for most media based programs. Yeah, people will cry that WINE works, but really, try running Premiere Pro, AVID, or After Effects on WINE w/o it crashing. Damn near impossible.

Also, Final Cut Pro will ONLY work on a Mac (unless you severely hack it)

  • archlinux frw.

  • @nuobus wtf have you smoked?

  • I think that if you don't care about gaming THAT much, then Ubuntu is my #1 choice for Linux. Fast, simple, awesome looking, I'm using it right now.

Sure it's the easiest but still, would you want EVERYTHING to be command lines?

  • why does he state the obvious

  • linux is perfect for non gaming laptops

    windows perfect for gaming

  • Let the guy talk. I mod things and do all kinds of electronic mods, repairs but when talking to someone I at least let them talk.. Dude kept trying to talk and you were just rambling.. So much you had to stop and say "I dunno" and he kept trying to talk and you went on and on... I like your videos, and wife used to watch you on techtv, but pointer to let the other person on the other side talk a little more

  • will you decipher the OnyxCode at onxcod.com

  • Chris - Watching you on Ubuntu11.04. Computer was Win 7 dual boot 'til W 7 crashed, restore discs got lost and Ubuntu still runs like a Train.

    -S-

  • I'm starting to use Ubuntu more often now as a development machine.

Although I'm thinking of getting Mac OSX

  • Youtube ate my comment. This happens so very often. Wow, Google has made youtube SUCK!!!!

I which there was an alternative. I would go with even an MS-driven one, if it had more users. Nothing can be worse than youtube.

  • @MsPwain microsoft will never by youtube and even if it does it would suck because they would probably never let mac videos come up haha

  • @mrcoolguy678910 Haven't had this problem for some time now, so well... maybe Google has corrected the problem. It was quite irritating though, every third comment eaten by an invisible comment-monster, not funny at all.

I don't know what to think about Apple. If I had the money I think I would buy a Mac, but why the h.. does it have to be so expensive. It's way more for a Mac than a PC. Is a Mac faster? Or more reliable?

  • @MsPwain well i would say theres no viruses but there is but only a select few also depending on what u do a mac is more reliable and faster but if you just sit there and download shit ofcourse its gonna go slow so yaaaaah

  • @MsPwain google Lazarus form recovery. And IMHO, I like what google has done. Sure, there are ads, but we get a great service for free.

  • @weezilla OK, thanks for that.

  • There is better distros than Ubuntu, but that's my opinion.

  • @Darkteammadfiz Thank you so much. Though I do use Bodhi, an Ubuntu derivative and all, I still have Mandriva on another system. Been using that one for 10 years (not the same release of course). I'll even take openSuSE over the main Ubuntu.

  • 3. Security issues - with ubuntu, the security issues are virtually non-existent unlike what he says in the video - "every os has its share of viruses!" Well that is the case only if you sudo any executable without understanding what it does! Unless one explicitly approves a virus to wreak havoc on their machine it WILL not...

  • @poolla2007 I believe he said "every operating system has its sexurity issues". That's a bit different.

Linux has some advantages that Windows do not have security wise. But in my opinion, it is possible to set up Windows just as secure as Linux. It is just not done from the start because it is not user frindly. And almost noone does it, because noone on Windows really care about security (unless it is something that can be "fixed automatically without the need of the user to think").

  • @poolla2007 The users are really a very weak link on Windows, because the OS has to go with the lowest denominator.

On Linux, it follows the highest, because it is not main stream, people do not demand it to be user friendly. Which gives an initially far more secure system with Linux.

  • @MsPwain A few years ago I would have agreed with that. These days though it seems people do want Linux to be more and more "user friendly". We can see this in the distro releases these days. They're all becoming easier and easier and even easier to the point where they're beginning to hold users hands, it seems.

  • @SeaofInfinity32 Both right and wrong IMO. Linux itself is still rock solid. Even PoppyLinux which runs as root... is still built on basic securiity model. It is just tampered with to make it more like Windows (I guess). But it is still possible to set it up like other secure Linux systems.

IMO you can not build safe systems, if security is not build in from the very start. What you will get is just patch on patch on patch. Security is build in from the start in Linux, not on Windows.

  • @SeaofInfinity32 ...though I agree with you, still, that Windows can be set up to be secure. Thing is, almost no Windows user does this. I do not know any wndoows user, who actually use time on making for example an everyday account. My bet is, that more Linux users know about the systems security than there are on Windows. Just from my everyday experiense.

And to be honest... UAC is a complete joke compared to the password prompt in Linux. Just my opinion, of course.

  • @MsPwain Now That I will agree with 100%. The world of Windows would be much more secure if more users of the OS would use non-admin accounts. I think even "techs" that install Windows for people probably intentionally set up admin accounts just because that's what everyone uses.

I don't have much experience with UAC but have no problem with the password prompt on Linux distros. I'd miss it terribly if it were gone.

  • @SeaofInfinity32 What I mean is, that UAC popups a window with an OK and a Cancel button. And then the rights for whatever program is elevated with OK.

An OK-button is not security, and it has nothing to do with security. The problem is, that an OK-button does not give any hint as to why is is there in the first place. So the user will think, it is not very serious, and always just press OK. A password prompt on the other hand is a clear signal, that there are going to be made major changes.

  • 2. Linux, or Open Source is going at an extremely stable growth pace. This pace is not being matched by either windows or mac. Windows share is reducing slowly and that share is being eaten by Mac, then again Mac, with its Lion OS cannot go any further. But on the other hand Ubuntu surpassed itself with 11.04!

  • 1. He does not seem to know what he is talking about. No offense, but he is just another run of the mill techie, who has a great experience with Windows and Mac platforms and completely no knowledge what so ever or little as knowledge as possible about any other environments.

  • Linux has a hard time taking more market share, this is not due to a fault in their function but more lack of 3rd party developers coding commercial applications for it. For now at least OpenSource software can only take you to a point, from there you need paid solutions to achieve business goals and aspirations.

  • @ajamison3 I do believe that Linux users (myself included) would buy the Linux version of any wares to the windows counterpart. But I can't be mad that they don't exist in the mainstream. It's like getting a brand new car that is completely customizable right down to the hardware except you have to drive it differently so people freak the hell out.

  • All Linux Distros are better than Windows anything!!!

  • OSX is never going to take over and neither is Linux. Windows is the big daddy box. Apple and Linux have a better chance at taking over in the hand held device market. I say this as a Puppy Linux user.

  • lol my mom is goin to by us an abunta this week im so excited,

  • @heaheaheaa its free ....

  • I think I am the average person due to the fact that I'm not a computer literate professional. jest a month ago I jest learned how to open my disk tray. But as far as Ubuntu .vs. Windows being that this my very first time using any type of Lynix . Ubuntu takes a SH!7 on Windows. Jest yesterday I installed Ubuntu and I'm loving it. and whats make it better I dont have to buy any Anti virus software any more

  • @cliftonmaurice Just make sure tha automatic update manager is working, and never use the Admin account exept when installing apps (from SoftwareCenter). Then you do not really need AV.

People are usualy taught some very good security best practices on Linux. SoftwareCenter is one of them, password when managing the system is another. Some Windows users might find that annoying, but it is quite effective.

  • Ubuntu is the best OS, I have ever used. I used to be a Windows fan, now I hate Windows and ditched it for Linux, free, super secure, very customizable, user friendly and very well organized OS.

  • I tried Linux Mint but got kicked off of their community. Fucking douche-bags.

  • @da006 what did you do to have that happen?

  • I'm using UBUNTU 10.10 right now because my Win XP fucked up installing Ubuntu.

I had great expectations about UBUNTU an OPEN SOURCE OS (OMFG REALLY COOL ISNT IT??) I read a lot of comments on the internet "UBUNTU FUCKING ROCKS, JUST HAVING AN ORGASM WITH IT" But all my expectation went to the trash, or at least the recycle bin, because I'm trying to install XP again, but I have to admit it, UBUNTU IS REALLY FAST AND COMFORTABLE FOR WORK

If you want to have UBUNTU, have WIN in another HaDis

  • O.k

I'm a huge hater of "not-opensource" companies... But for me Ubuntu 10.10 have been only a headache.

First of all, I installed it on my PC, I wanted to have Win XP and Ubuntu, I follow all the steps of an official video about how to install it, and guess what?? I fucking lost my Win XP

I can't install nearly everything, I mean 7 steps just for install a fucking program?? and I need other programs that require another 7 steps to install them??

Damn, I was simply dissapointed with Ubuntu

  • @XxFaKyouxX Another thing... My PC is builded for playing games, and guess what?? Linux has no fucking compatibility with any games, at least you have WIne HQ, and you have to do at least 6 steps to install them and know how the programs works...

OK Uubntu doesn't have virus, and you have to buy a antivirus for windows... Jus download an antivrius from the internet, and the cops won't come to your house to arrest you.

  • Trying it out now ;-)

-Right now, I'm watching this video on it, and I have to say so far, it's a good OS. But next time, I think I'll boot it from USB, as my disk keeps making this funny noise like it's going to blow up from all the software which is boggling it's brain. :-)

  • i man i have to ask

if i were to use and make ubuntu and make it into somthing new and kick ass if

would i be able to make money on it and license it and make it maybe on par with windows or somthing like that would i able to make money on it ? ?

would you be able to tell me if it is possible or not

if any one is able to help

  • @oldlyswansea You can always make proprietary and closed-source software to make money out of, it has nothing to do with OS. And if you have to ask that question, I highly doubt that you CAN make "something new and kick ass". If you really have an idea of making something new and kick ass - make it free and open so all the humanity can prosper from your creation. Making money is a fucking lame motivation.

  • @brujahelder

A that's how western society thinks

B if you'er good at something "Never do it for free"

C i'd like to make a little money of it ok just so i can say "fuck you to a socialist pig" like you

    hahahahahahah ]

    hahahahahahahah

oh and it's not soly about money thank you ok

  • hi good work

  • Is that a Ipad on your desk?

  • How about the new 11.04 "flavor" smart guy?

    sudo apt-get remove lockergnome-channel

  • This kid talks ridiculously much.

  • linux mint FTW

  • Linux Stickers Here

google -> redbubble rob brown stickers

  • Hi

I'm a Mac user, but; I'm also a Linux user, the first Linux system I ever used is Red Hat 9 then Fedora 3 to 12, then I migrated to Ubuntu, man this is something else! I've installed it on my power-end high performance HP laptop and it screams!! I run on Ubuntu (v10.04 LTS) almost 10 guest OSs!!! Fedora Core 4/8/11 with Autodesk's Maya and OpenBSD, Linux Mint 9, Mint Debian, Ubuntu Server (v10.04.2 LTS), Debian Squeeze, Windows XP Pro and Windows 7... Can't be happier...

  • @benghaith awesome idea thanks

  • Kubuntu has a better user interface

  • @Koran90123 WHOAAAA where are you getting that from.. i mean im no gnome fan but kubuntu for new users

( like my mom, sister, and friends) it is really confusing. They try to hard to make kubuntu look nice but to configure it , it as not as simple as you think. Gnome and some times xfce are much simpler. Then again anything different from windows or mac is complicated for most people.

  • openSUSE is still better :D

  • ubuntu is ok, but it comes with it's own set of problems. don't think it's any better than windows. but it depends on what you're doing. sometimes windows is better. sometimes ubuntu is better.

  • DUDE. I want your screensaver. LINK!

  • @Cocoa2442 well that's just the thing, windows 7 pretty much IS vista. the biggest difference is the memory requirements. without the new aero features and the big icon and hidden titles taskbar mode (i actually tend to go back to the normal taskbar anyway) windows 7 and windows vista would be pretty much identical. even so vista itself did bring some nice features like getting drivers through windows update (which is pretty helpful to be honest). even so xp will always be windows holy grail.

  • i believe ubuntu is starting to pick up. more and more users at least high school and college age are starting to play around with freeware and open source software. most of my friends, if they haven't tried ubuntu on their own machines, have played around with it on mine. i think ubuntu is getting to the point now where it's getting maybe a little...too mainstream, but hey whatever brings open source to the masses you know? no point in trying to help a community that doesn't exist right?

  • can u use itunes on this site?

  • NOOOOO!!!!, chris dont know shit!!!

  • Unfortunately people know knothing about "free software" or at least about "Open Source Software"; all they care about is usability. I thought this guy knew at least a bit about that, but he certainly is an i*i*t.

  • Say you're looking for the best quality/price ratio. If you get Linux (any distribution) then it's infinite. Awesome, huh?

  • I wonder how much CRIS got pay to endorse windows

  • using ubutnu. alaways say adobe flash plugin has crashed when trying watch youtube. it used to be fine but now i can't play youtube vids. what's the deal?

  • @digitaldown I use to have that problem, google it, its a easy solution.

  • Wait until the economic crash comes to the US in 6 months or so. As that depression lasts for years, people in the US will not have the money to keep buying new computers with the supplied Windows OS. People will drive towards Ubuntu and other Linux distros.

  • FUCKING ADS, THEY DIDN'T LET ME WATCH IT

  • Ubuntu is fabulous. Easy to save vids, plays about all movie formats w/o trouble, got a cannonical library where you can download over 30,000 apps for free. It's awesome I love it. My Ubuntu computer shuts down in 3 seconds! My vista takes just over a minute. Ubuntu loads quicker and your surfing quicker. NO DEFRAGGING at all w/ UBU. No registry to screw up!

  • I have ubuntu and windows 7 at the same time ;)

  • Yeah this guy is a misinformed Mac fanboy. Most of this shit is sponsored. He's saying it because he's getting paid to say it. I love how he states that Linux is to be used for the bare minimum of computer use. Yeah cause you know NASA using it to operate the space program is bare minimum and all.

  • ubuntu is fucking amazing

  • my god this guy is stupid

  • i was looking at his screen saver the whole time lol

  • @TheCompGame I think the screensaver he is using is "electric sheep". They have a Linux, Windows and Mac version. Search Google for "electric sheep" it should be the first result. You can install it in Ubuntu through their Software Center or Synaptic package manager. It's already in the Ubuntu repositories. After you install it, you will have to enable it as the screensaver. Once it starts it will start downloading a lot of mini videos, so you might see a black screen for a couple minutes.

  • i am watching this though ubuntu 10.10 and im liking it although i need to lurk on a couple forums for a fix because i cant get my shared folders to mount

  • I can't get Ubuntu to connect to the internet....

  • @1111GENESIS Have you got the correct drivers for your wireless/ethernet card?

  • @sillychicken599 geeze I dunno , I was unaware that I needed special drivers ;If I needed anything special I would have that the Ubantu download would have came with the drivers needed to connect to the internet., yes as far as I know I am able to connect to windows with my wireless internet drivers so I believe I have the correct drivers :)

  • @1111GENESIS You may have the correct windows drivers but not the correct ubuntu drivers. They are different operating systems so you will need different drivers

  • Ubuntu Linux sucks ballz

  • Wait, what? You're using "every operating system has its share of security issues" as an argument for Linux supposedly not being more secure than Windows?

I suggest you test that. Take two computers, install Windows on one and Ubuntu on the other and hook them both up to the internet and see how long it'll take one to either get a virus/trojan/worm/whatever or get hacked.

Chances are that the Windows machine will get compromised within 24 hours while the Ubuntu machine will stay safe "forever".

  • Awesome Chris, keep up the good work :)

  • Ubuntu Linux has more customizable potentials. If you are really a pro, Linux is the way to go. It's an operating system geared towards developers. Computer science department at many universities uses it.

  • I've always changed around the os on my dell mini 9 running on an ssd. Windows 7 kind of lagged and so well, I switched back to ubuntu 10.10, really enjoy it, responsive, boot up takes literally seconds, doesnt make it run as hot as windows did.

Coming from windows, I find ubuntu fun to learn, just takes alot of reading.

I'd love to try Android on this Dell mini 9 now too... always wanting to experiment.

  • Are you the key Master?

  • Oh, something major is happening. Linux-Android has virtually taken over the smart phone market. Android is going to be a major player on the tablet market. Google - a really big player - is pushing linux hard. All major hardware vendors are supporting linux. This used to be the major drawback of linux. Apple does not sell low cost devices. Therefore, I think linux is going to be a major player on the desktop.

  • @bhigr I'd love to see that happen, but users are locked in to Windows. Most new computers come with Windows installed, most people think this is what they want. People are blind. My mum, my dad, my wife, my friends, everyone uses Windows. I've love to see this change. HP is apparently putting Linux on desktops and servers this year, WebOS or something (Just what we need, *another* distribution, they obviously haven't heard of Ubuntu), hopefully this doesn't end up like Ubuntu on Dells.

  • I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and I love it, but it need to be more than awesome and free to get the recognition it deserves.. I'm a c# programmer and Monodevelop is nothing like visual studio. Just some minor things have to be fixed before people will start using it. Well I think it's fun to learn monodevelop, I hate it when everything is the same all the time, most people don't like to learn new stuff tho......

  • Trying Ubuntu 2 years ago, it wasn't ready for mainstream. Now, however, it is. It's fucking fantastic.

  • @RJTamm93 same as for me. I didn't like it before but 10.10 is awesome

  • @RJTamm93 i just got ubuntu love it only thing i regret is not giving it anymore hardrive

  • I believe Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and later is a great piece of software. the operating system is quite stable. I haven't crashed it, and my machine is outdated in every way. It does show a lot in quality. There are a lot of programs to use. The only reason people use it (linux) is because nobody codes popular programs for it. There are fabulous programs for linux, but none of it is problem. My computer has never been faster or stabler. No more constant crashing and slow downs on start-up.

  • I recently switched to Ubuntu after using Windows for over 10 years. It's a great OS.

  • I can download a mega-shit ton of apps via the internet. I hate this dudes impartiality to everything.

  • this dude asked about ubuntu actually why you come out with the whole linux thing

  • by the way you can install ubuntu on removable hdd windows thinks everyone is a pirate so blocks it`s os from working on usb drives while you can hack this why should you have to become a criminal just to use something you bought how yo want too and windows will not let you use a flash drive with multiple partitions also ext4 file systems are on readable on windows while linux reads all windows file systems all linux file systems are unreadable on windows without software not just ext4,ext3

  • game on linux with wine no need for cedega or crossover and popular prog like rosetta stone and photoshop also work some game don`t but alot do you will find most needed ones work well i could not get xna to work so i still use windows on my desktop but dual boot it with mint and have ubuntu on 5 year old laptop multitasking like crazy really have you ever noticed how windows extracts zipped files slowly try that on linux you will be amazed by the speed

  • but that`s only because the os give you the respect that you know what you are doing windows is a fine os for elementary school children but for advanced users you will find it totally lacking mr perillo answer was so simple and the 2 os he mentioned do so much hand holding he is really the wrong person to ask i say give linux a try don`t like it switch back or better yet dual boot and learn a small step at a time when you become comfortable with linux it will be well worth it also you can

  • ge about it that as me at first i`d install linux but as soon as i had a problem would run back to windows but as your knowledge start to grow so does your want to make programs work for you like they should and the os is just as prog and you should be able to make it do what you want windows by it`s nature does not trust the user and shackles them expecting the user not to be anything more than a five year old child linux boxes can be broken easily by inexperienced users but

  • this is why no one should pay attention to this guy as he said windows just does everything for you and he truly is not a advanced user of os in my experience ubuntu

i`m running on a 2.13 ghz pentium m laptop and running windows 7 on my desktop for gaming 2k11 and the ubuntu box is much faster my desktop specs: e5200 oc 3.8 ghz 2 9800 gtx sli 3gb ram laptop has 1 gb of ram go 6600 2.13 ghz pm and truly as other have stated why people will not switch to linux is because they lack knowled

  • LOL glad I didn't have to yell at you

  • i know why other people doesn't switch to linux because they lack knowledge about it.

  • Technically nobody uses Windows, Linux, or Macintosh. They use programs and programs use the operating system. Unless you use the terminal that might be considered using the operating system sense an operating system consists of a kernel and a shell. (I might not be 100% accurate about this though)

  • Linux Mint. :D

  • UBUNTU IS WAAAAYYY BETTER THAN ANY OTHER OPERATING SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  • If you are using Vista or XP: Switch. If you want to keep your hardware or don't want to pay for more use Ubuntu. If you have the money or desire to have new hardware, get a Mac. I leave Windows 7 out, only because I have never used it.

  • i also doubt that linux will ever make it as the most popular desktop OS (though i don't completely rule it out as android, jolicloud, and chrome OS become more popular and start bridging the gap between mobile devices and desktops)...

but if OS X does overcome windows in the desktop OS market (highly unlikely), i think linux may also grow, since it's easier to port mac apps to linux than windows apps to linux and since compatibility is probably main reason people use windows right now, i think.

  • @sleepee11 Why does one have to overcome another. Users now simply have a choice, they should use the OS which suits their needs rather than just accepting what they are given. There is no best OS, users should just use what they feel is most suitable. This isn't always Windows, it's not even always Linux. It changes from situation to situation. If companies stick to the standards rather than make up their own thing then Linux WILL work. Or if they work with a project to get drivers, it'll be ok

  • Comment removed

  • @ShadowEater120880totally agree... the problem is, commercial OS's won't want open standards. they want proprietary standards to make money. it only makes sense.

b/c if the OS's with proprietary standards have 98% of the market share, it's a little difficult for OS's that use open standards to compete. people won't use them because they're not compatible and they'll never be the best option for the majority.

hopefully that'll change though.. i think it has been changing little by little.

  • One more thing, i am running linux on a quad core with 4GB RAM and it runs better than any mac i have used and any pc i have ever used.

  • i hate this annoying lying little shit. he even said a load of bullshit about android, he must be a die hard cunt, sorry microsoft / apple fan i meant

  • I fucking own this Iamthefag loser for laugh. I made him revamp his entire channel from the severe and unending ownage that I have been inflicting on this retarded loser

  • lol oooooboto

  • Iamthefag (Frankie the fag) got destroyed by me ever since the lunatic decided to cross paths with me. The dumb fuck had no idea of what he was getting himself into. Other retarded bigots quit a long time ago, to be never seen again.

This donkey jockey will either die first, or will end up with brain hammer-age by the time I am done owning the fuck. Hahahahahahaha

  • @Iamthelaw1526 For work we use a lot of Microsoft stuff such as Microsoft Project. I've used a lot of stuff for project management on Linux, but its not as powerful as MS Project sadly :(. But if I were a dedicated programmer for non-MS stuff, I would for sure jump to Linux and never look back.

  • @dkchen Lenucks software is mostly shitty. Fuck open source, nothing but bug and exploit ridden piece of shit.

  • @xyz98741 Wow get a life retard. Go wank to your shitty win 7.

  • @Iamthelaw1526 You dumb piece of shit. Lenucks is a fucking virus and exploit ridden piece of absolute shit crap ware that has less than 1% share in the world.

To everyone else, this Iamthefag is a cock sucking douchbag that has no fucking life. He has trolled all kind of videos on youtube for the past 2 years non stop. The fucking douchbag lives in his mom's basement and he's over 40 years old. Be afraid, he might actually be a pedophile cock sucking monkey. I'd watch out if I were you.!!

  • I love linux. I wish that most of my business apps that I use would work on it :(

  • @Iamthelaw1526 Because it isn't. Linux is security through obscurity. When hackers attack something univeral like Java then "secure linux" is affected.

  • just installed it and it looks nice.... more glamorous than windows thats for sure lol

  • Ubuntu < Arch

  • I definitely think that Ubuntu and Linux Mint (ubuntu derived) are the two best distros. And everything you can do in Windows, Linux can do it. It may be different, or done with other programs, but you can do everything. Not just "basic tasks" like Chris says. Linux has come a LONG way.

  • I would have to disagree. Ubuntu now has a integrated app store much like that of the one Apple will be implementing in OS X Lion. With this store users can now browse add and remove apps right from one place with no terminal. At preset apps are free, but there is talk of developers adding paid apps. I truly believe all it would take is a solid suite like iLife to make it competitive. And with a free OS one could charge the $ of windows or less.

  • Linux > OS X > Windows

  • @Chintendoeddman Linux > Wins > OS

  • 3:33 that's funny... I thought you said in one of your previous videos that there's nothing wrong with Vista and Vista is very very good and reliable?

  • A remarkable collection of mis-informing, ignorant, mindless, commentary. Another clip had him saying that he uses linux only with a CD, and then lectures people that Linux should 'standardize' on one GUI, etc. etc. He doesn't even realize how much of today's Windows functionality was copied from much earlier Unix/Linux advances. Linux will not displace standard use Windows, but already is, and will remain, the OS of choice of the more flexible and creative minds; and that's just fine.

  • @historatia Thats where I prefer it :)

  • @historatia are you one of those creative minds?

  • @zederish Not particularly 'creative' only somebody who has experience fro the RT-11 days of DEC computers through to Unix/Solaris HP/UX corporatately and with Ti 99-4A, Amiga 2500 as Hobby stuff. Tried DOS and Windows occasionally, now readying TI-OMAP with Pandaboard for corporate appliance use as well as future low power desktop. The comment was elicited because the "depth" of knowledge on this vid is abysmal. The judgments are born of ignorance and the comments are mostly misinformation.

  • Linux could run on DVR, DVD and VCR menus, try doing that with Windows.

Linux is a universal tool, that Windows will never be.

  • OSX and Windows = Expensive OS's that will go obsolete.

Linux = Download New Versions without Paying.

Microsoft charges a flat-fee for extended support.

  • Ubuntu is, hands-down, the best distro for everyday use, programming, ...pretty much anything besides servers and hacking/pen. testing. For servers, get CentOS and for security, get BackTrack Linux

  • this guy is such a Dusche

  • @H01001000 so what ? whatever the philosophy, that name suck just as much as your youtube name.

  • @zeblezeb

Don't worry, Linux Mint is the same thing and has a better name and site.

  • WTF Mac OSX taking Windows place?! NO **** CHANCE! Linux Ubuntu or any linux distro is going to take over Windows. No fucking way is Mac ever going to take over with that bullshit of an OS. I am no fanboy of anything, but I do hate Mac OS X

  • @Mantua64 that's because you don't think different.

  • @zeblezeb Yeah you're right:)

  • @Mantua64

Legally OSX can only run on Mac, so there's no chance at all.

I've tried OSX, it lacks alot of things, that Windows and Linux have.

  • ubuntu = great fuck apple and windows
