yeah these guys are cool and doing this stuff is cool but the problem is with this line of profession all it takes is a wrecked knee and your greetin at walmart
At age 26, Johnson died skiing at his home mountain, Squaw Valley Resort in the Light Towers area.[23] Witnesses said he caught his ski on an exposed rock which caused him to fall several hundreds yards down a ridge.[24] The medical assistance showed up several minutes after the incident but pronounced him dead on the scene.[25]

Very sorry to hear this young man has passed by his own doing; it seems stupidity and/or ignorance cost him his life. I guess one nasty blow to the head wasn't enough! Young people think they are invincible - they're DEAD wrong!! Others should learn from this man's mistake. I don't wanna die when I'm 26!
Good, stay off the slopes. You'd have to love something enough to take the risk, i'm not surprised that you don't understand. And I doubt after recovering from total paralysis he thought he was invincible
@dianaysimmons yea dude we should all just curl up in front of the tv, or in a cubicle. GO FUCK YOURSELF, your pissing on a dead man, he died doing what he loved, listen to him in the video, its what he wanted to do, and im sure that if he could relive his life he wouldnt change a thing
@HAHAHANOFX curling up in front of TV is boring but sticking your neck out risking is death is ignorant! I'm 45 yrs. old & when I was younger i did crazier things than I do now because when you get older you understand that taking death-defying risks is unwise because you value living more than living dangerously! I don't mean any disrespect to him... i was just trying to tell the younger crowd to calm down and be safe!! that's it. My only brother died @ 17 recklessly- HAVE FUN &BE SAFE PLEASE
@dianaysimmons we risk death every day just driving to work, freak accidents happen, ill take my chances while skiing, if i die i will die happy, heres to you CR
@dianaysimmons I'm sorry you live your life with no enjoyment. people live life by taking risks, if your not than its not much of a life, is it? CR was one of those people that understood the risks and decided to live life and continue to do what he loved best! He shows his love in this clip and will always be remembered for he's perseverance not his failures! If you fail to see that, I'm sorry. I hope you can look at it in another way... I said it before, run the risk and live your life!
R.I.P. C.R. u will live on and be a positive example for everyone who loves the sport, save some freshies for those of us who are waiting to get there
Anyone in this industry knows someone or someone who knows someone that has lost someone in skiing. I feel sad for those of us who are without them. They are in a better place and we are blessed to have been with them. I feel for his friends and his family. My thoughts and prayers go with them but he died doing what he loved and what was most important to him and what made him happy and what most important of all gave him a sense of self. God bless you CR we will see you again.
YOU get to spend Eternity in "ski heaven", we'll miss seeing you and your innovative poetry in motion moves on those majestic mountains, BUT your legacy lives on forever: to live EVERYDAY as if it's your last, live ever so PASSIONATELY and doing what you love!!
RIP CR! Like you said, at least you were able to recover and actually LIVE regardless of how long. Everyones heart is aching and it is amazing what an impact you had on so many people. Id like to think you finished what you were made to do here and we will be with you some day soon. You were such a sweetheart and will be missed more then you could ever know
at least he died doing what he loved and with all due respect, i gotta say - no one should should do expert ski runs, let alone aim for a career doing expert tricks with a severe brain injury...its just not a wise decision no matter how you slice it.
CR was built to be a risk taker. It's why he was a great, inspiring, important person. His inner need to overcome fear and push his limits is the reason that you and I have heard of him and are having this conversation. The concept of whether or not "risk is worth it" misses the point that being a skier was core to his own self-worth.
CR died in an accident. Thousands of people die in accidents every day.
I worked up in tahoe at northstar,cr,tanner, skogen, were in all the time.-cool cats-Mike Laroache is a douche bag and he sucks at skiing!-Lost his chance-cause he blows and has shitty karma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!redgreenyello420allday
I broke my neck this season and CR's story encourages me to keep skiing. We all know about the risks and that is one of the things that makes it so fun.
no, i'm pretty sure it wasn't caught on film. they were practicing for a film and it was a total freak accident. They were all going off a jump and something happened and he didn't get out of the way in time and his friend crashed into him. His skis hit him right beneath his helmet. i was hanging out with him the week before at a ski competition. it was so crazy when i found out. i'm really glad he's doing so much better!
RIP CR, you were a god to the skiing world
