ARGHHHh! i love the original. the trailer to me offends the original. the original to me was scary b/c spirits are somehow in the photo, not b/c they somehow are omens to the death of the ppl in the photo. I'm going to watch it tho just to see if the trailer maybe misleading. (but i do hate it when they americanize original horror movies. it just ruins them. ju-on scared the shit out of me and so did the shutter)
Only thing I liked about this movies was how hawt rachael taylor was. This movies wasn't really scary and it could've been 10x better. The fact that they wanted to keep it PG-13 so alot of people can watch it is probably what made it like this.
@Steven205 Giving a movie an "R" rating doesn't, in ANY way, increase it's value or quality. Plus the movie is PG13 because the original was without "R" content.

It is meant to be a compliment when they make an American version of it. They are paying Homage to it, but they are trying to make it American so there is no cultural confusion with the significance of things.
That being said not all American version of things arethat good. They ocassionally need to recognise that some things do not translate well.
The Asian Version is much SCARIER!!! the white version looks stupid because white people think ghosts are fake and dumb. Ghost does not look like that in the picture or etc... NOOOOo, noo, nooooooooooooooo
Wassup with America especially HOLLYWOOD? that jewish media. First off, they copy One Missed Call from Japan. The Eye from Hong Kong. Twin Sisters from Korea and now The Shutter, one of the most scariest movie of all time from Thailand. Almost every Asian saw the Shutter, the original one.
