I have to disagree with the ppl that say the yelling is distracting or not appropriate in Zumba - there are many places that require that you use a mic/verbal cues and in order to be heard over the music you have to speak loudly. Do what works for your class because ultimately if they don't mind it, that's all that matters. They are the ones paying for you to teach them, and from the looks of the size of your class you aren't hurting for students.
the traditional zumba cueing. I make sure2stay true2what my participants want, bc after all... as a group exercise insturctor/personal trainer we want2 do what makes the workout the best for our participants right :). Been dancing since i was two and choreo/teaching since I could remember so I do have a diff way of teacing. But thats what makes each Zumba instructor so much fun to go to and the variety in classes. Thanks for all the comments, show yall know and love ZUMBA and thats what i LOVE!
hola peeps! thanks for all the comments and for compliments on the choreo! sorry ive been mia, got into a doctoral program for physical therapy and took a shift from fitness to school for a while. haha the yelling in the vid is awful huh? im filming with a digital camera and the sound quality is awful, music is actually lounder than my mic. and this vid is at a university with 100+ppl who "perfer" the talking and cueing during class. I also have classes that perfer no cueing and (next post)
Hi there.... it's ZumbaRose (on under my other name). I have to agree that the shouting/yelling is unnecessary and distracting. I'm wondering if you teach turbo kick? Chalene cues a lot like that. Really not appropriate or necessary in Zumba. Other than that, I really like the choreography.
Fun routine, but what IS with the yelling? I have taught several zumba (and other dance classes) of up to 60 participants, and I have never shouted. Tends to be very 'drill-sargeant like'.
