the shoulder roll isnt some unbeatble strategy unknown to boxing before mayweather. its at least as old as archi moore. james toney was the master at it...and he lost often enough. freddy roach also trained james toney, he is very familiar with the shoulder roll and its weakness. mayweather has a 50% rate, and fragile hands. his power wont trouble pacquiao.

My prediction is completely unbiased because I really like both fighters especially Manny but for me my boxing knowledge and assessment of the fight combined tell me that Mayweather has this one to lose. Of course the shoulder roll isn't unbeatable but its also the dodging ability he possesses combined make him extremely hard to hit. I don't believe that James Toney is as defensively sound as Mayweather for a second. I agree that his power won't hurt Manny but he will hit him enough to tire him.

hmm, I don't think the shoulder roll will work against Manny's flurry which is 5-8 punches within 1 second. If Floyd wants to do the shoulder roll against a flurry, he would have to do 5-8 shoulder roll within that second or a split second difference can make a difference and he will get caught, especially if he falls for a quick faint, he will roll into a punch. I like both fighter's style. I think Mayweather should keep Pacquiao off during flurry. Forget shoulder roll.

Manny changes gameplans fight to fight, what happens if Manny doesn't charge in? De la hoya gave Floyd a good fight and some people had him winning albeit he needed to win clearly to deservedly take the title. Of course Manny changes his gameplans to suit certain fighters but at the end of the day Manny usually goes back to old school fighting like he did against Marquez in both fights and like he did against Cotto. Given enough time I'm sure he would have done with Hatton. If manny doesn't charge in, it becomes a boxing match which in my opinion Floyd wins even more comfortably by using his slick skills to catch manny without his guard up, which was seen far too much against Cotto.

Trust me I love manny, he is pure class but this one is going to be very hard. I predicted him to beat barrera, del la hoya and cotto and made a few pounds on the way. You have to remember how badly mayweather beat Hatton as well, both fighters schooled him. Manny in more devastating style though.

I think Pac is not the same fighter since he fought Marquez. Pac seems to improved in the later stage of his career ... his a "student" of the game as he said.

As for physical attributs (speed/power/endurance) I don't like to look back to far ... I gauge on the current fight. Fighter's years are different as they go through wear and tear. FM gave JMM a clinic, but FM also looked rusty. He does lunches too on his hooks/rights, and his speed wasn't like when he was a few years back.
