I remember that you said that this one sounds like the one I recorded in JTown back in June, which Trocks797 also recorded back in August. The one in JTown sounds worse, but they do sound very similar, especially at startup. The JTown Tbolt sounds like it has bad chopper brushes and bad ring brushes, but this one sounds like it only has bad chopper brushes. There's also a 1003 in Grand Island, NE that sounds like this.

@SSAirsoftowns yeah. the 1003 is at the FD off i think its Main Street. and if you stand just northeast of the 1003, you can see both sirens.

@Branden2732 thunderbolt is used for tornado warnings and the 3T22 is used for firecalls

poor Thunderbolt sounds like it has a cold...

you know what would be a cool video - if the Tbolt went off in Alert, and the 3T22 went off in Attack (or Alert)... both at the same time!

@timeslip325 i have quite a bit of pictures of these sirens, and i saw the serial tag for the 3T22, and the last 3 read "C63" so im guessing it was manufactured in 1963. i couldnt see the serial tag for the bolt, so no idea how old it is, but it does have the modern "FS" logos on it

Could you ask the Fire Dept if they could do a special activation of both sirens during the next monthy test

@garyhstorms10 whenever im there, there is no1 there to ask, but im still trying. i may return to this thunderbolt when they resume testing

Uh oh. I hope this one gets fixed instead of finding the fate of the US 20 2T22. I wonder if the 3T22 sounds in hi/lo?

@mohkfry i don't believe it does. from what it sounds like from the FD they dont know what high-low is, he said it only wavers, so i assume he meant attack
