But MMA is a martial art itself, its just more evolved. If it wasn't for traditional forms, MMA wouldn't even exist. You cant disregard older styles as being shit because new ones are better. Muay thai, boxing and wrestling are 1000's of years old, and still dominant forces in MMA. However, this is just a movie from the 80's, and a classic. Not everything has to obide by MMA standards. I love mma, but not many people wanna watch a movie with 2 guys on the floor for half an hour

I know the difference between older martial arts and MMA i practice Muay Thai and love it.

What translates as a good fight in a film doesn't necessarily have to reflect real life, Chuck Norris, world champion, boring screen fighter, Van Damme, early fighter in his youth but translates very well on screen, Bruce Lee, awesome screen fighter, unproven ring fighter. Its not only in the martial arts vein, what translates well on screen is a different count and tbh when i go to the cinema, i wanna see some fly stuff, not be bored
