  • Sigh. Make your drum level what are we in the civil war?

  • The second guy plays more like me, alot of chopping... Flam fives, cheeses, patties .. Yatta yatta! Red shirt wins. Hands down

  • thats a heck of a tilt

  • @drumperson42 Yes... too much tilt.

  • The dude at the beginning is killin that shit

  • just imagine.. the blast beat he would do on a drum set!!

  • My schools freshman are better at improv

  • @Tlong223 It's not improv. They're playing solos that were written. Good attempt to fry, though.

  • Im sorry, But both you guys have horrible technique.

  • @TheMcmarchingband i see what you mean

  • @TheMcmarchingband you took the words right out of my mouth. It's better to play match and be clean, than to have sloppy traditional playing

  • Awesome!

  • i would hate to go against him in all region

    tumbs up if u agree

  • thumbs up for that breakcore rhythm !

  • mark time bro!

  • i am proud to say that my band director wrote this.

  • what kind of drum head is tht?

  • What brand and type of snare is that?

  • what are the exact heads you are using?

  • thats 1 hell of a tilt

  • you better have gone to corps dude. best timing ive heard in a good while

  • sweet dude!

  • that fuckn drum sounds sooo dope

  • what side head are you using. AND WHAT TOP HEAD. PLEASE REPLY

  • @blake111297 Premier Tendura top head and Remo Falams II bottom

  • backstick stuff, not so much. but that stuff is super hard to get consistent anyway. rest of it man. kudos. hope you went into corps.

  • music-great, but you in the red shirt: at risk of quoting "drumline" the drum aint goin nowhere so you dont need to watch it. we all fall into this trap every once-in-a-while but after we figure out that we are watching it, then we have to fix it. make sense?

  • @waresthedoughnuts Lol people who trash that movie are stupid. Do you really expect that a staged movie is going to have DCI quality playing? It's a movie; I don't understand why people expect directors to rack up the best fucking drumline they can find for a movie. If you are watching it for educational purposes, then yes you should stop, but there's no reason whatsoever to veto the movie in general.

  • that was good

  • u killed it.

  • Where r u from in Mississippi i go to Petal

  • Dayyyyynng that was epic.

  • what type of drumsticks do you guys use?

  • @stifler536 MARCHING STICKS DUH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheWesman95 i know but what brand and mark? Example, Pro-Mark DC50,

    something like that

  • where is the love button

  • thats one hell of a tilt you got your drum on there... haha sounds great

  • i know this is an old video but this was really good and next time dont be so mechanical with it. when play drums you are suppose to put some type of feel or emotion into it or ptherwise it will sound you're just playing notes. and this goes for both players, but other than that i give this five thumbs up. im not bashing you guys giving constructive critisism.

  • @TheDragonmaster18 i agree with you so much. btw great job guys on the snares

  • is this chris slater, BD center from 2009?

  • Mississippi? i marching snare in mississppi. what school are you guys from?

  • Whoah he looks like slater( blue devils center snare 09)

  • one of the best snare players on youtube, thumbs up if you agree

  • @nuckalheads13 Keelan Tobia

  • Is that Pearl Competitor High Tension snare?

  • @Denshoukiro Its a pearl championship marching snare drum .

  • Nice singles.

  • i love the end when he goes "yeahhh,.."

  • jus awesome man

  • what type of drum is that

  • @Thesuperblack22 pearl

  • @ybsorc9 Thank you kindly.

  • if only he could act....then they could have cast him as the part in drumline haha actually have quality drumming >.<

  • where did you guys learn how to play like this? i gotta be taught by them!

  • One Word ...DOPE! :)

  • Can someone explain to me what exactly having chops mean? I'm a freshman and I just started learning about more advanced drumming.

  • @drummer1995100 having good hands

  • @MeAckRoB Thanks

  • Work on your Technique but other than that, that was bad ass

  • COOL YOU GUYS

  • that would take me a life time to learn

  • Im from Olive branch. Two of my friends are playing take it for granted.

  • @BlueandGoldQB7 Who is this? and are you talking about Nic and Kirk?

  • @sag8t Jake South. And yes i am. Nic Reir or whatever and Kirk Deshazo.

  • @BlueandGoldQB7 okay. this is Sawyer, I taught there over the summer.

  • this is so awesome!

  • 2nd one destroyed the 1st one

  • the guy who played Ice looks like Chris Slater, the center for A corps in 09. xDD

  • Are there any exercises that anyone recommends for getting precise and fast drumming skills a boost, my main weakness is chops.

  • I want to join your band :D

  • SICK!!

  • Wait maybe you're from Hillcrest? You might be the guy Lauren Develle showed doing a snare solo.

  • You from Southaven? I forgot if that's where Mr. Sanders works. Did you make it into Lion's band. I was a trumpet this summer on the Australia trip.

  • @123kendrick and @thecalitree It can handle a kevlar head, cause thats what is on it . I used to have the same head on my snare but we just switched to the black maxx Kevlar heads instead of the white maxx Kevlar heads.

  • nice chops

  • kicks the shit out of that faggot travis barker

  • god almighty he rules on the snare

  • this is the kind of choppin i wanna see when i lookup snare drum on youtube

  • Not bad writing at all! Your playing is pretty good, singles are nice. I'd work on making cheeses, inverts and flam-flams. Your sticking on these rudiments is very undefined (stick heights the same on grace and accent notes). You probably know that, just my two cents. Keep up the good work. Oh, and take out the backsticking until you can play the passage clean without it. (This is all from watching "Ice.")

  • Speechless........

  • Very Cool solos and nice truning of the drum

  • that was great

  • 5 minutos and only 10 segundos interesting, your video is boring

  • I just love all the drums you got in the closet

  • fuck man you have some good chops.. please tell me you marched somewhere

  • shit is hot son!

  • what grade are you in?

  • 1:59 is amazingly clean. Great Job

  • can i get sheet music?

  • ICE FTW

  • first guy looks like blue devils snare player

  • Your double stroke-rolls were B-E-Utiful

  • Wow...How long have you been playing?

  • i havent seen that much tilt on a drum since Oprah sat on it

  • thats wierd they both use their thumb in traditional i think we should try it at our school

  • @rikuantu lol, ur supposed to use your thumb, your thumb and index finger are the main focus in your traditional fulcrum as well as being the smallest muscles in your fulcrum, same concept as matched grip, ur back fingers are the smallest muscles in your grip and in turn can move faster

  • @rikuantu huh? u dont use ur thumb at your school? the pressure is supposed to be coming from your thumb and your pointer finger.

  • @rikuantu You shouldn't just try it, switch to traditional. Colleges don't play matched grip

  • D4MN....D4T SHiiT iiZ CL34 4S H3LL

  • WOW! AMAZING MAN! JUST WOW! How do you do those paradiddles so fast?

  • very good drumming i think i could do that if i practiced

  • If I could name what they just played, I would call it "Chopped to Death". Excellent job

  • Is that an old school Premier Tendura head I see....if so that explains why I love the sound of this drum so much. I hava a tendura from the 93 Star season at my house and another one I actualy use to play on. Great chops and well written solos great work guys.

  • very nice solos,

this is coming from a snare player

  • Drum sounds so good. Fantastic tuning!

  • what kind of heads do they have. they r making those pearls sound like dynasties

  • i like how the second guy is wearing marching shoes lol :}

  • that was so beast

  • the second guy would get laughed off the field if he tried out for a core lol technique! pound it in your head. learn how to play traditional. god damn spagghetti grip.

  • @dukk8349 second guy plays tenors =P mainly i think

  • @dukk8349 C-O-R-P-S.

  • hahahahah you crack me up. the second guy marched phantom regiment!! his name's nick manton. lol. he marched tenors for them.

  • @dukk8349 what exactly is spagghetti grip?

  • that "second guy with spagghetti grip" as you called it marched tenors for phantom regiment a few seasons ago. And the word is spelled C-O-R-P-S.

  • @dukk8349 learn how to spell before you critique someone.

  • sloppiest left hand on the first guy :D plus... fuck snare tenors is where its at :D

  • @dukk8349 stop making bs calls on these guys. they are way better than you. you're not impressing anyone

  • Doubles need work on the first guy. But VERY good!! 5 Stars.

  • @fishcity100 just a bit of info, the middle finger is always suppose to out but not so far strained as to flip someone off... if u ever watch the Blue Devils all of their middle fingers are off of the sticks

  • @littletaterdumplin just a bit of info, thats just BD's technique

its not "always" supposed to be off the stick

    some people wrap it around

  • esse mulek tem futuro poha namoral

  • good job!

  • i think the socond guy won, he was alot less sloppy

  • nice... very clean

  • y he looking down?

  • "Playing drums its like making love. You cant be looking down seeing whats going on trying to get the flow right" -Drumline (movie). Haha

  • @bryan770 You must learn how to follow before you can lead Mr. Myles...

  • Nice Vid

  • was this by any chance before or after a performance?

  • Both we're awesome. The only thing is the first guy kinda lost left hand wrist rotation towards the end and used his arm a lot, and the second guy has his middle finger off the stick in his left hand a lot of the time. Either way, great chops/solos

  • alot of people when doing traditional grip will have the middle finger off the stick, it doesnt, or at least isn't supposed to, serve a purpose in traditional grip unless you use it for speed sticking

  • Actually, it's essential for stick control. It's the first thing a staff will notice, shortly after your lack of sound quality. Everywhere I've auditioned/marched, it's been praised to keep the middle finger on the stick. As for drumset, that's a whole other ball game.

  • this is amazing

    just quietly

  • At my school, the entire drum core is white but one bass player. All the cymbals are black, though.

And it's not a low-black population school, either, probably about 1/3 or 1/2 black..

  • like the first guy but both are great :P

  • very nice, pay attention to the approach to grace notes. sometimes they are open and meaty, then sometimes they are closed and flat (Which is also a good choice) If you chose to have both interps, make it more apparent. other than that, nice job!

  • the second guys solo was cooler but he was staring at his snare the whole time thats a pretty novice mistake

  • man alot of cheeses and singles, very nice

  • sweet single strokes man... do you march drum corp?

  • sweet.... did you make it? and what school do you go to?

  • what kind of snare and head

  • oh....no......its a pearl 14x12 championship...i have one! the head idk, but the evans hybrid head is the newest one out...blue devils use it...thats a great one i just bought it.

  • nope pearl

  • lol so off

  • hahaha its pearl man

  • It's a 2000 model Pearl with a white Premier Tendura top head and a Remo Falams II on bottom.

  • @PJMSnare04 if u get a kevlar head for that it would sound much better

  • @PJMSnare04 wait nevermind..that snare cant handle a kevlar head on it :(

  • @123Kerrick

Haha what the fuck yeah it can

  • Casey claws at the very end. :D

  • what type of head is tht? cuz its sounds good!!

  • sweet

  • damn thats pretty sick

  • thts preatty cold right their

  • wow backsticking waz really clean

  • all thats different with his hand is he pulls his pinky finger in to curl it up and pulls his ring finger in more.. its a lot harder to play with it and harder to do its a dci style some corps use it.. i cant do it but my instructor told me about it

  • cool

  • why is the guys left hand so wierd?

  • not bad...

  • the first guy's left hand looks a little funky.

  • thats what im sayin

  • but it doesn't seem to affect his playing. the stick height and speed looks the same as his right hand. i'm sure if it was an issue, his instructor would've corrected it.

  • o my goodnezz

  • Serious playing all around. And Pearl snares sound killer with Tendura heads. Nice.

  • Is that a tendura head?

  • Looks like it to me, especially during the zoom around 3:00. I thought it was an Evans @ first, but on closer inspection it appears to have the two logos characteristic of Tenduras. Sorry, I'm a an equipment geek...:)

  • well that and also the other kid is amazing to

  • bro got to say..i made ms lions band twice now and go one more year left to make it..im a trumpet i dont no if we met or not maybe but your freaking amazing at the drums im sure you did but you can so go to a hugh college..berklee or something dude

  • way to whip it

  • daammm

  • What kind of batter head is that?

  • first guys ok, less elbow action, more wrist. the second guy is better though, good technique.

  • thats vanguards style.

  • both of those are beastly

  • take it for granted too!

  • can you send me the music for ice

  • dude where are you marching?
