Lombardi tends to rely on his speed more then Grabo and has a smaller field of vision as well as less creativity. Lombardi tends to drive around defenders, while Grabo tends to make short passes and try to get to the slot.

Calgary does not want Matthew back ... he should have been a speed skater, He couldn't play on the first line, couldn't play on the second, couldn't on the third. Lombo is top ten fastest in the NHL man I've never seen someone get up to that kinda speed in only three strides! He can deke and kill penalties, easy one of my favourite flames. Hope you tear it up for the Coyotes! maybe a future trade in the works for ya to come back and wear the Flamin C again! I'm gonna miss that little guy!

Todd Bertuzzi's like poison though. He's like -10 and he's the reason iginla hasn't been a + player this season and is right now Even in plus/minus.

Bertuzzi's role should be like a 3rd line tough guy and maybe put him on the powerplay from time to time, but he sucks at the defensive aspects of the game.

The Cammalleri, Lombardi, Iginla line I think is the best fit for Calgary's top line right now.

I still don't get why Lombardi doesn't get more ice time. He is consistently one of the hardest working flames, he has great defensive skill, and his speed creates nothing but opportunities. The only problem is his currently 3rd or 4th line wingers aren't able to keep up most of the time so the defense knows just to go right for Lombardi.

With Conroy playing how he is right now, the flames should at least try Lombardi as first line every once and a while.

I think he means that by instituting the instigator rule Bettman in effect took away fighting as a deterrent for cheapshots. Now if some agitator is taking liberties with a player the goon can't jump in and straighten them out without taking an additional 2 minute penalty for the team in on top of the five minute major.
