The Chief is lying about the blade size. You can clearly see that the handle is about two-thirds the length of the knife. So if the total knife length is 8 inches then the blade can only be 3 inches.
That blade is only 3 inches which means it's not a deadly weapon and can be carried legally.
That said, don't rush the cops with a knife and you won't get shot.

Go to PoliceLink....they (police) are proud of the fact they murdered a drunk man in need of help...They see it as the guy brought a knife to a gun fight & got what he deserved.....I see it as a coward with a gun who shot a man that was unarmed....granted he threw the knives, which may have scared a child...but, if that scared the officer to the point of taking the drunks life he deserves to be relieved of his duties as he is clearly too big a coward to have the authority to kill.
