What you watch is about the hmong people ancestors back in the old days how they live their life like and it's a hmong traditional music that you're hearing it now.
This work is "Hen ho" (love dating) wrote by a famous Vietnamese flute player Dinh Thin. It was played by Vietnamese Hmong flute (improved from Hmong flute)
This is quite possibly a Hmong flute melody. Hmong have different types of melodies. Hmong-Laos, Hmong-Thailand, Hmong-Vietnam, Hmong-China, Hmong-American, etc. We adapt and adopt other cultures as our own, so we can't rule out the possibilities.
not bad at all... i think these are the hmongs in veitnam? because their clothing are black. who knows if i'm right or wrong but that's just an educated guess.
Who can verefied that this is really a Hmong Flute? Sound so much more like a Vietnamese Flute to me. It could be a Vietnamese flute with Hmong pictures on. I may be wrong, but if someone can claimed and proof that this is a real Hmong style of flute playing. I kow wherever we (Hmong) are, we adapt to that cultural. But I have to say that the Hmong flute we all have always heard Hmong from Laos play are more authentic. Just my personal opionion!
Demon, I questioned about this is because both my parents were born in Vietnam, but raised in China. I've been to both countries to meet and trace back my family trees. I've learned most of them adapt to Chinese/Vietnamese cultural just like we do here in US or Laos & Thailand. I feel this flute is 99% sounding Vietnamese style. To me the original Hmong flute should be sounding like what we all have heard (which is the ones from Laos). Of course this is just my own opinion.
If this isn't Hmong's flute, it is certainly not vietnamese flute. Or maybe it is but is heavily modified. Because it's notes are different, which makes the tone and melody. THere are many notes that doesn't exist in Vietnamese/chinese flutes. vietnamese flute are similar to chinese but without the Vib hole. Who ever this flutes belong to doesn't really matter, but it does sound real awesome.
This is the song my grandparents and great grandparents would play in my dreams!
