the new mortal combat looks awsome, but I'm disappointed that it only has 20 characters in it. Mortal kombat Armageddon for the ps2 had about 55 characters. well, at least they will make the fatalitys alot easier.
They should have violence settings. Sometimes people push gore too far, to the point it can offend the audience so bad that they won't play it. Hopefully they either will have violence options or just not go too far. I can't tell yet with all the video footage I have seen so far.

mortal kombat WAS A hardcore fighting idea where "realistic" worlds met they probably chose to make the fighters real so that they could bring in the fact of a " realistic" mythology called mortal kombat
to me mortal kombat was trying to be a 80s martial arts movie with hardcore theme a cross between the 70 80 horror and karate movi
another thing i want to add is that.. in movies and games they make the characters so that they are in team fact is none of the characters are in team in the beginning they all do mortal kombat against each other.. everytime there is a turnament they had to
its not until between the turnament that they found team mates. some of the characters were togheter but mostly they didnt know each other.. in movies they do not really battle .
@TheRogueMonk the kinds of movies that make more sense for this type of movie are those van dame movies such as blood sport, i do not think mortal kombat should be much more different then blood sport. instead of using cheap camera angels and bad choreography.
5 minutes of a jumping ninja and round kicks do not satisfy my idea of mortal kombat , also it has to be mortal that you experience that you can almost not breath while a fight is on it should not be very obvious .

i like the whole fake rivalry between james rolfe and doug walker (AVGN vs TGWTG) when the true rivalry, in the viewers eyes, should be between james and chris. personally i believe that james and chris do not feel like they are copying or ripping off the other, but the fans sure do. but it would be pretty cool to have another cheaply made but still awesome looking brawl fight. you can never have too many of those.

this game still looks cartoony they neeed to step it even further and ake it look real THEN we can say its back to the classic.
the classic using pictures motion and clips to make mortal combat extreme and realistic and ridiculous but this is still not mk to me.

@TheRogueMonk Exactly. First thing I thought was "Cartoony" This put me off. It looked like they made a big gimmick over Sektor being an android, giving him overly robotic moves... when back in the day everyone attacked the same with the exception of some special moves and they only looked different. I think they are just trying to individualise the fighters a bit TOO much.

mortal kombat WAS A hardcore fighting idea where "realistic" worlds met they probably chose to make the fighters real so that they could bring in the fact of a " realistic" mythology called mortal kombat
to me mortal kombat was trying to be a 80s martial arts movie with hardcore theme a cross between the 70 80 horror and karate movi

another thing i want to add is that.. in movies and games they make the characters so that they are in team fact is none of the characters are in team in the beginning they all do mortal kombat against each other.. everytime there is a turnament they had to
its not until between the turnament that they found team mates. some of the characters were togheter but mostly they didnt know each other.. in movies they do not really battle .

@TheRogueMonk the kinds of movies that make more sense for this type of movie are those van dame movies such as blood sport, i do not think mortal kombat should be much more different then blood sport. instead of using cheap camera angels and bad choreography.
5 minutes of a jumping ninja and round kicks do not satisfy my idea of mortal kombat , also it has to be mortal that you experience that you can almost not breath while a fight is on it should not be very obvious .

@TheRogueMonk That's exactly how it started in the Arcades. They were all just martial artists, they are now but... not kung fu or karate, now it's forbidden secret magic jitsu from outworld. I wish it just stayed with the theme of Mortal Kombat 4. (The theme, not the game) but it had to go into this new, fake-like fighting. :(

@phazbla actually mortal kombat 4 was excellent since it was exactly what the 2d games were already only in 3d.
i want to tell you that the mortal kombat that you could choose fighting style was very bad cause the styles were not even real but had real names.
If the make a mortal kombat 4 but with all todays effects and realism and then give them some real martial art base it might satisfy my thirst.
blood or finisher is not important to me if they are not going to be realistic
