Domestic call centres in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand are much better that's why at least one of the Australian banks has reverted back to a domestic call centre. Indian call centres are just awful and the Bangalore call centre service that CitiBank was using was responsible for leaking literally thousands of credit card account details on two occassions.

The CitiBank data theft case was major and with no comparison in any First World call centres. The ring operating in the Bangalore CitiBank call centre was stealing literally thousands of CC accounts and selling them to brokers -- and it happened twice. In terms of rates yeah you get what you pay for.

I know people are sayin that this is not how indian call centres work (which I agree with) however the out sorced Orange call centres in india are usless. I used to work for orange here in the UK and the indian call centre caused loads of problems on customer accounts. They have more training then we did in the UK abd still couldn't do there jobs!!! Hopeless!!!!!! Need to bring it all bck to the UK.

@panxdaisy I know there are probs with accent but the Industry has matured a long way....i was on a training for Voice and accent for more than a month....and believe me it was way to ahead....i have been there and its the toughest job on earth. Night Shifts forever /Split off's and to hear the company's problem with a Smile is way too much...yet it gave money so lasted for 3 months.I would love if u cud take these jobs back and enjoy ur guys talk with u....why don't u ask every company....

Call center generally recruits college pass out guys who have very little time to get voice and accent right.Training for it is very fast. There is a perception that people get it after they into production. Lines are scripted and worst part agent leaves his company when he is really good due to changing night shifts,bad timings,continuous work and bad words coming for no fault of theirs.I wish you could hear all of it automated.
