Hey I figure skate :) I was wondering how you jump on those things...? I mean with no toe picks and all. And if you have edges, same names for jumps, do you spin, all the sort :)
@monstersneverfail Roller skaters use "toe stops" which are like round rubber toe picks, all though many jumps don't use any toe stops at all, for example a Salchow (which I believe is identical your Salchow). Many jumps and spins have the same names but they won't look exactly the same simply because roller skates and ice skates skate differently. What most people don't know about roller skates made for artistic skating is that the wheels are attached in a way that allows....
@monstersneverfail ... the skater to use several different edges (for example: right outer back). In figure skating your version of dance is what we call freestyle or freedance and our version of dance uses a dance pattern of a tango or waltz or boogie etc, and each of the skaters have to follow the pattern precisely. In addition, figure circles are skated on black circles that are already painted to the floor, whereas figure skaters have to trace their own circles in the ice.
I believe that is Eduardo; he is a beautiful dancer, and an excellent good coach. Redwood City is fortunate to have him!
