The Brawdy Hunters were a tiny bit slower than the F6s at RAF Valley as those didn't have the nose radars installed and were consequently a bit lighter. I flew the Valley F6s and the Brawdy F6/F6A/FGA9 between 1974 and 1975 (3 Sqn at Valley and 63 Sqn at Brawdy). The Valley F6s were capable of 615 knots at low level which equates to 707.7 miles per hour. At high altitude it could do Mach 1.05 in a dive (a pretty steep one at that.....!)
@abeba18 Hunters could break the sound barrier but they had to go high and dive, so yeah, roughly 1100km/h under its own steam but 1200km/h with a bit of help from gravity. :)
