The dog as usual. I feel bad for my dog, i went crabbing one day. Caught the perfect crab and right when it got out and my dog got to it, the crab snipped at the dog and it went running. I tried to get him but my leash went wild when the crab snipped its claws at my dog. My dog "Mist" is ok, she didnt get hurt at all, but dannys dog oscar defeats snake heads better than my dog does.
Barracuda even smell nasty.I wouldnt throw him a pinfish
or a spanish mack even but he has no probems with jacks or bass. There is something about the bullseye snakehead that he shows a real hatered for.It may be that we dont like them either. He has almost been taken by a gator twice. His ability to jump very high saved his life both times.I do blame myself for that, but gators can be very sneaky.I was lucky. It was in the beggining.I keep him closer now.
@dannymartin66 That my friend, is very dangerous for your dog, I know first hand. A dog can get a spine in his mouth, poison. He can get bones buried in his mouth, or down his throat; you are supposed to be the one to look out for your pal, just as he looks out for you. When and if he gets hurt, he is not the one to blame.
@dannymartin66 Well, you know your dog and the situation far better than I could ever know, sorry if I came on strong. I see so many people who don't watch out for their dog--good to see a good dog guy out there.
I took it as concern for the dog, nothing more.I asked the vet and others about parisites and bones and scales and the problems that can come with them.As it turns out many dog breads still have the enzymes needed to digest bones and raw foods.Dogs in arctic regions like Alaska,Canada and nordic countries eat raw, quartered fish bones scales and all.Oscar is an unusual dog that loves to fish and catchs birds like a cat.He means the world to me and I hope he lives a long time.
@dannymartin66 My dog grabbed a big barracuda--once, he will never do it again. The slime on those fish is sooo thick, it was funny really, he "spit" for an hour, and we had to rag off the slime, nothing that thick on any other fish I ever caught. But watch out for a Sculpin, those spines on their back will swell your hand up double--hot water by the way, is the quick answer. For a dog, I don't know how it would go.
@surfFishingGuy Hes been tearing them up for three years now with no problems and the vet says its not a problem.I would try to breed him and start a fishing breed of dog but hes been sniped.
@954floridaboy I fished along 595 in the g-15 canal saturday.I caught 6 snakeheads and 11 bass.I have caught almost 200 snakeheads in there this year.Last year I caught 2.The year before 1.Thats how fast they take over a canal system.
oscar is like my lab stella she loves chasing fish in our pond and loves eating them except the channel cats she hates those maybe somethin with their mucus
@martin briley This is what you do for fun? Why?This is a fishing video not an English exam.I'm sorry if our lazy language offends you but why don't you take your pet peeve elsewhere and lets us have some fun talking about a hobby we love without being ridiculed by someone empowered with anonymity.
dude atleast put the fish out of its misury before throwing it to the dog.... how would you like it if you got thrown in the water with no way out and still alive with crocs? ugh!
@convictbreeder Maybe your right. But if you have ever fished live bait trust me when i say that the shiner of finger mullet at the end of your hook isnt wonderin if its a dog or a striper or a largemoth eating it,it just knows its being eaten.I think the 3 baby turtles in his stomach had the same opinion.I found feathers in one a couple of weeks ago.
@SmOkiNeLboWs He enjoys the killing part.He hasnt been bit by one yet and we are going on 5 years now.He did get into a bit of a battle with an Iguana one year that was pretty exiting. It ended in a draw. Both sides took their licks.
@brad238899 He can do all the normal things do like sit.stay etc.But he can do a shit load of other things.Ive never realy had to train him as much as i kind of just ask him to do things and he remembers everything he never forgets.
You have a wonderful dog. Just wondering where that boat launch is. I only spend vacation in Florida a couple of weeks out of the year but the snakeheads are starting to emerge here in NY
@spartanlax07 this is in a residential area in parkland. Those are northerns up there.Down here its bullseye snakehead.Oscar killed a couple today, his favorite thing to do.
@ZoomToadCraazy That dog is hooked on the toad more than you and me both.He loves top water fishing and wrecking any fish he comes in contact with.Last year he jumped on the back of a 6'long blacktip shark, the year before he leaped four feet in the air to miss an 8' gator jumping out of the water to take him.I try to be carefull with him but he loves coming with us.I forget hes so small sometimes.Hes very smart and friendly too, good dog is right.
