@awesomepants18 That's her or his job to walk on the mat and tap the ref on the back with the stick . The ref can't always look up at the time so they use the sticks that have a foam end to tap the ref on the back to let him now that the time for that period has ended.
I dont know if you know this or not, but yesterday a female wrestler placed sixth at state, first time in history that a girl has placed at Iowa Highschool State Tournament.
Wrestled a girl a couple of months ago. DL lift and sat her down on her back as gently as possible. Pinned in about 20 seconds lol and when I stood up I accidentally kneed her in the face. I felt pretty shitty for the rest of the day

One high school boy forfeited his senior year title to a female because he refused to wrestle her. Good for him but of course he was mocked and called a coward. 1) Allow the girl to compete anyway 2) Ban girls from doing anything that's easier for boys to do, even though the girl wants to take on that challenge.

Many college wrestling teams had to shut down completely because they couldn't afford the costs of catering to the few females that wanted to wrestle. Kids should all have equal opportunities. I've trained in Judo with women and men, and sex doesn't make much difference. It is the spirit of hard training and the want to be there that is important. This is the reality,. wrestling for 14 years and every-time I went to a youth tournament on two occasions where I saw girls with flagrant fouls that where ignored mostly it's slapping or clawing at the face to set up a shot or push off and escape. Only a few female wrestlers do this but the point is no decent human being wants to see a female get hurt in a coed match accidentally or otherwise. There's always that chance in wrestling making wrestling coed completely takes the fun out of it.
I wrestled for years and had guys do all of that stuff to me then add to it, eye gouging, head butting, scratching with a stubble... I know plenty of girls that have wrestled that were bad ass too.

It seems to be fair since both wrestlers are about the same weight and girls are sometimes as stronger if not stronger than boys at young ages. But it's actually unfair because boys involuntarily tend to suffer more psychological trauma if they lose. Inexplicably, it's my understanding that only Hawaii and Texas have had the good sense to ban mixed wrestling in high school.

At the National Duals, I knew some girls wrestling for Oklahoma City. I can honestly say that the best move I saw the entire tournament came from a girl from that team. She hit a duck-under right to a body lock and tossed the other girl straight over for five. It was glorious. Women's wrestling has come a long way in the last few years and they are progressing quickly. They'll never be on the same level as men, but it's all relative. Give them a chance.
I am a girl and the only senior on my team. I weigh 145 and wrestle up in the 160 class. Sure it's really hard to wrestle guys bigger than you but I still put up a pretty good fight most of the time. I am probably going to wrestle at the college level at the University of The Cumberland's on the girls wrestling team. I think because I have wrestled guys bigger than me wrestler a girl the same weight as me will be a lot easier!

Girls and boys should NOT be wrestling against each other!!! The boy has nothing to gain from it and will be called a loser in either case. It's easy for females to compete against males because they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. They are considered winners in either case. That's why it's wrong. It's also wrong because we teach boys to never hit or harm girls yet we contradict ourselves and say it's OK in this case just as long as it's for her personal gain at your personal loss.

1) Allow the girl to compete anyway 2) Ban girls from doing anything that's easier for boys to do, even though the girl wants to take on that challenge.

This is the reality,. wrestling for 14 years and every-time I went to a youth tournament on two occasions where I saw girls with flagrant fouls that where ignored mostly it's slapping or clawing at the face to set up a shot or push off and escape. Only a few female wrestlers do this but the point is no decent human being wants to see a female get hurt in a coed match accidentally or otherwise. There's always that chance in wrestling making wrestling coed completely takes the fun out of it.

@justicerupe You've pretty well summarized why boys and girls shouldn't wrestle each other. It seems to be fair since both wrestlers are about the same weight and girls are sometimes as stronger if not stronger than boys at young ages. But it's actually unfair because boys involuntarily tend to suffer more psychological trauma if they lose. Inexplicably, it's my understanding that only Hawaii and Texas have had the good sense to ban mixed wrestling in high school.

dude, its just that this girl is a little brat... theres a girl on my wretling team, we were partners for 1 practice. I didnt think she was good so i took it easy on her for about 10 seconds then she quickly droped me to the ground. I wassurprised. not all girls r like this.

It is really pointless. No one is stopping girls/women from doing anything, I mean ANYTHING! On the contrary, women are constantly shaming men for everything you can think of. Just look at movies and commercials. Sure, there are issues from both sides, but my concern is how society treats women and men differently for the same action! When women get raped, men go to jail, when men got raped? Oh, no one believes him anyway! End of story! Shelter? What shelter?

yes we can say anything we want and for 6000 years society has not allowed women to fight men or has openly discouraged it. most of these super girl wrestlers are taken under some special coaching. I can see it over and over again. people assume that boys can naturaly fight, fighting is not natural and a person needs special coaching to fight. were being given a dose of stupid propaganda and when the boys do get their proper coaching later in life, the girls disapear

im a female wrestler. the better wrestler is the one who gets the pin. no matter if its a boy or girl. end of story. so in this case the guy is better but that doesnt mean I havent seen plenty of matches where a girl has kicked a guys ass.

Not sure why this was titled "why girls shouldn't wrestle" I thought she was pretty good before she was pinned. She showed good heart and decent skills. BUT she did wrestle dirty and I noticed that when gals get mad they may have a greater tendency to cheat....not that some guys don't do this also...just that gals can't seem to control their temper.

woman better etc. and i dont really have a problem with girls wrestling but 95%+ of the time the girl is over powered and pinned within the first period. This is also pretty bad on the girls fault cause it doesnt matter on the experience level you dont bite you dont kick or claw.

At the National Duals, I knew some girls wrestling for Oklahoma City. I can honestly say that the best move I saw the entire tournament came from a girl from that team. She hit a duck-under right to a body lock and tossed the other girl straight over for five. It was glorious. Women's wrestling has come a long way in the last few years and they are progressing quickly. They'll never be on the same level as men, but it's all relative. Give them a chance.

I am a girl and the only senior on my team. I weigh 145 and wrestle up in the 160 class. Sure it's really hard to wrestle guys bigger than you but I still put up a pretty good fight most of the time. I am probably going to wrestle at the college level at the University of The Cumberland's on the girls wrestling team. I think because I have wrestled guys bigger than me wrestler a girl the same weight as me will be a lot easier!
