  • I love how the parents said, "If you want it changed, it's on you." Day 1; Step 1 in being independent ;-)

  • LOL......kids today is SOFT. You should have seen the dorms at Tuskegee! AC? Microwaves? Not even an option. Hell ladies, if you hooked up a hair dryer, there goes the fuse, no power! Then there's a search of the rooms to find out who killed the fuse! HBCU's will kill that sense of entitlement QUICK!

  • Welcome to college boo boo! Your room is DOPE compared to some other HBCUs I've seen. Shoot...I would love to have had AC and a bathroom in my room! Remember you are there for the education and the experience! Soak it up! (Shout outs to my Hampton University Pirates!)

  • Representing the "old school" (A&T Class of 92 & Grad Class of 95), I felt the exact same way upon arriving to Scott Hall, the oldest dorm on the East Coast at the time, in the Fall of 88. I felt much better when I met my roommate and we started tripping on what the dorm didn't have. That conversation was as comforting as my mommy & daddy's house that seemed so far away, though it was only 100 miles. I just reconnected w/ my roommate recently & we laughed for hours like that first day at A&T!

  • Smh, it looked like she was about to cry when she saw that room though...this is a great series. I will be a freshman at A&T this fall, it's nice to see others experiences before i get there.

  • Again, very well done. LOL @ her face after seeing the room... Jeez. She was perturbed to say the least.

  • This series - especially this installment - took me back to my first days in college. As Kaiya walked into her dorm, I recalled walking into my dorm (Drew Hall, Howard University). Still wouldn't change anything about it. Plus, Kaiya's room was not that bad! Heck, they had air conditioning and a refrigerator - luxuries! I look forward to part three. Great work, Alumni Roundup!

  • I will be a FTIC Freshman at NCAT Fall 2012 and I really enjoyed this project. The whole process is nerve racking, but looking at someone that will be exactly like me, gives me a little bit more reassurance of leaving Baltimore and joining Aggieland. Thank you and if we could continue this series with different people and Kaiya it would be greatly appreciated. =)
