This song is sooooooo good, I can't stop playing it. Thank you 9thW for posting! Happy BDay to Ivan Neville! Maybe he has some insight, I will try to find out.
@electric57booty James was really close friends with Eddie Bo and can be heard on a number of Eddie's latter recordings. He also worked with Ellis Marsalis, and a young Harry Connick Jr. among many others in the music world.
@rara5426 Toussaint all the way. I think Allen recorded it and it was released right before Katrina hit. I'll get a copy but odds are it won't get uploaded because I think it's on Warner Brothers Music. BTW, Warner Brothers Music is no longer owned by Time-Warner. It was bought and belongs to a company named Warner Music Group (WMG). I say this because I don't want anybody boycotting Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn, Sal and Tweety, Yosemite, Wylie and the Roadrunner. They are owned by Time-Warner.
@hassledguy I really don't know. I'm guessing they did but without any credits since they were just trying to get started and landed a national contract. I think the perception them being a "house band" would have hurt them this early in their career. (Please don't have a "bar bet" based on my answer. I am always so wrong. However, my wife reinforces dat complex dat I got so who knows?)
So good.

sounds like Allen Toussaint on backup vocals and Leo Nocentelli on guitar...do you know if all the meters play on it?
