  • I couldn't help but notice that he is wearing shoes...are they planning on patching this glitch?

  • .... Anyone notice his guitar is backwards...?

  • @MemorymanDL Left handed guitar?

  • @Paul17373 No, not like that, the strings are facing him, you can see the vibrato springs on the open back, look closely, the fretboard is the other way, he's pretending to play the back of the guitar.

  • @MemorymanDL Oh ok. Obvious how very little I know about guitars.

  • One of my favorite Joe Jackson songs! :D

  • graham maby...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha thats funny he fakes playing on the small piano, and the band freezes movement while music plays, I wonder why they wanted people to know they werent playing the insturments.

  • Classic! The fricking good old days when music was great!

  • This is not live , thats why the guitar player has his guitaer flipped over for half the song , they are dissin the fact that they are miming

  • @sibsrock The instruments are recorded, but the vocals are live.

  • @sibsrock exxactly...hilarious too!! Esp love the solo on the mini-grand...

  • The new wave/punk era during the late 70's, and early 80's was very special to me.

  • This is such a great song - Joe's voice! Man he looks cool!

  • Little piano solo Fuck Yeah :D

  • 'Just like last night, oh yeah thats right, I'm the guy with the big feet but plenty of nerve'

  • thanks for posting this

  • JJ's early stuff had some great, heavy bass lines.

  • This sounds very 80's even though it was 1979. Where's the big piano hiding?

  • @Andreas748

well, the 80s actually began in the late 70s. lol

  • @TimmytheGeek2009 yes, I suppose by 1979 the style and trends had already changed to what we now consider 80's music...

  • Is that Joey from Friends playing drums?

  • I'm always amazed at the big sound JJ's able to extract from such a tiny piano :)

  • @twisteddsister me too...especially when we all know size does matter.....

  • Killer tune.

  • ode to Elvis Costello

  • Is the guitar player actually playing? Are those stops deliberate? Did the bass player switch from left to right hand? Do I need some sleep?

  • when they stop who plays, cool trick

  • Yeah, that's the word I received - Botox.

His appearance over the past few years or so definitely suggests it. As if it's written all over his face.

Joe looks good in this clip, btw.

  • Are you sure you're not confusing him with MICHAEL Jackson? LOL

  • Or his father, the other Joe Jackson? LOL!

  • He only fixed his teeth ;-)

  • Choefoe...you sure about that? His face these days looks like if he smiles too much it would be painful....too bad he had such a sweet face in this vid....

  • No, I,m not sure but it,s his body, let,s not make a Michael out of THIS Jackson;-)))

  • well it doesn't make any difference anyway...I doubt Joe gives a damn what we think of his appearance or even reads any of these posts

  • More or less what I said ;-)

  • Anybody notice how guitarist Gary is "playing" his guitar on its backside?

  • Joe is a bad ass mother!!

  • I would love to see him in concert!

  • Then do so ;-) He,s still-performing ;-p

  • loved him for decades.....

  • Wonder what happen with people's talent. I can't think of any recent song writer or artist, or band that is talented, original.Back then we had bands like Joe Jackson, Supertramp, Dire straits, and you name it. As of today, most bands copy their stuff, because they don't have the ideas neither the talent and creativity to express something from their soul. Probably that's where the problem relies. The stuff made today is soul less.

  • Artist of today mostly don,t write their own song or play instruments like the 80,s artist and before. Artist today only have to look pretty and do what the producers come up with, so they,re not really artist like JJ and many others from his time who still perform their own written songs and music and became what they are by working hard and experience ! Today we have instant artist,!

  • I mostly agree that much "talent" today is green (recycling old stuff), moreso than in any recent era time since disco was big. The singer/songwriter peaked during the 80s & 90s. Carole King & Neil Diamond were unknowns in the 50s & 60s when their music topped the charts. JJ is part of a select group. I love his music and performances, but only like his voice. While you're not wrong, we should not eschew those who can only sing or write. Today's problem is the lack of a musical movement.

  • My brother hated his voice and kinda liked his music;-) I don,t have problems with songwriters and other artist performing it.Take for instant the Brothers Gibb, they wrote songs for Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, does not mean THEY are lesser artist, I only talk about the groups brought together by producer on their looks to perform a "trick"so to speak"and mostly every song sounds the same .Regards ;-)

  • To say it more simple JJ went to conservatorium, most "artist" today don,t even rocognize a music note if they see one. ;-))) pull open a few can,s pull over some hot water ,tada, new music group ;-) instant mash ;-)

  • It's not the artists, it's the record company's... they are run by idiots that haven't a clue what talent is.

  • Graham Mabry on bass is second onlt to Bruce Thomas in the Attractions. To bad Elvis and Bruce had a falling out.

  • Kinda Kute-great powerpop.

No one writes like that these days.Sigh.

  • Marshall Crenshaw does!

  • Big fan of his as well, but must admit to not keeping up with his work as I should lately.Miracle of Science was the last album I bought of his.Still recording?

  • Great!

  • What a band , what music ... God ...

  • joe jackson a true legend, kinda kute a classic.

  • Sad that nobody makes music like this anymore.

  • Joe Rules!!!

  • I heard alot of people say Joe is ugly, but really this is about music, not his looks. He sure is talented, and I love his music.

  • Too add to that,Joe Jackson is not ugly at all. There is nothing wrong with his looks, what a great performer.

  • Exactly-Joe looks great here. And looks like no one else, which is cool. Though he did undergo Botox recently. Doesn't matter- I'm looking forward to his future releases.

  • botox??? really??

  • so ne coole Nummer und so'n schlaffes Publikum... unfassbar :-)

  • You're kinda kute too, Joe!!!!!!

    :D

  • Joe Jackson is the man !!!

  • this is a classic tune i remember buying the album im the man in 1979,this is a fantastic tune very underrated joe jackson a legend.

  • Just love the minipiano bit!

  • yeah-it's Kinda Kute at that!

  • Joe Jackson,Andy Partridge and Danny Elfman all had the same look going.
