  • he is good alright but its time for people to be themselves i play jimi but I put my own spirit through the songs with all respect to all those guys I love their music .... but then when wil we be our selves anyway to do every move a man did 40 years ago is too much

  • Very nice!!!!!!!! i'm goin to see him tonight :)

  • @MrStratoStrut Since you seem to have his current number SS--leave it on my e-mail so I can directly speak to him and leave out this forum for issues that should be a for private conversation anyway since the topic seems to be so sensitive and divisive and will not be resolved here. I bet you can still proportionally find more white artists accepted in the R&B markets than you will find black guitar-based artists having lucrative careers in modern Rock and you will not be able to dispute this...

  • @MrStratoStrut We debated Skibby enough SS, the topic has long been closed. My focal point is living now in the future. Though Stan will never have the support and promotion of most white rocker's he's happy with what he is doing at this point of his life so let him be and concentrate on your career instead SS let's all ensure that equal opportunity exists for all of us in whatever genre we want to pursue. Currently Rock IS extremely segregated and has been for years including MTV originally...

  • Stan is currently married, and living in Poland and since I do not have his current number there I cannot directly speak to him even though I did try to e-mail him. I am in full view, I am not in hiding, and I was in touch with his Mom who is a wonderful person as is Stan. Your perception is way off since you have not known Stan as long as I have. He knows who I am and as I stated earlier Rock is extremely segregated which is why Stan will never have Jimi's success or promotional support...

  • @MrStratoStrut Also you never addressed why there are no Black guitarists playing primarily in the arena Rock genre who are or will ever reach the status of a Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Metallica..much less another Hendrix who if you recall the history was not initially accepted by his British peers as even legitimate. His talent, timing, development as an artist, and association with Chas Chandler and Mike Jeffries as well as others to help package and promote him was extremely crucial...

  • @MrStratoStrut America is divided racially and has been for a long time according to the average Black American as you can see politically and personally with President Obama. Having a black record collection does not address injustice or economic disparities in the music industry--particularly in Rock and finally as I indicated in my postings--I know Stan personally so there is no need to stalk which I don't do anyway, so once again your perception is WAY off so let's focus on Equality in Rock.

  • @MrStratoStrut Also while no one will take his place, there are hundreds of talented guitarists/performers/songwriters who can add stunning contributions to Hendrix's legacy and rock in general if given a chance and are fully supported by both the industry, marketing, music retailers, sponsors, as well as the audience themselves who have been programmed to believe only white males can authentically play rock guitar and write great crossover songs that are not just urban based experiences...

  • @MrStratoStrut Rather than going back and forth--since you are so passionate about this then support the Black Rock Coalition to address the apartheid in the rock and country music industry that continues to this day even though you claim to love Jimi so much...there is a reason why there are no black rock counterparts to the Stones, Eagles, Metallica, etc..The reality is there are presently no arena level guitar based black rockers being promoted because of this blatant racism no one addresses!

  • @MrStratoStrut You're addressing the wrong person BRO--I am living and letting live... You and others like you need to stop living in a Jimi Hendrix fantasy--Jimi has been gone for over forty years and Woodstock is over BRO and if you learned anything about Jimi, he would not have wasted time with any of you so keep your comments directed only to Mr. Skibby Bro so you both can be eternally happy together wishing and hoping to take Jimi's place...Reality check BRO--focus on yourself not Skibby...
