  • Great video, brings back great memories. I ran that Ferris Wheel from about 1965 to 1967 but the man you see running it in the video was my boss "Shorty", he died about 1976, rest his soul.

  • Thanks for sharing. It brought back some great memories. Amazing video quality for the late 60's

  • I was in an accident at Jolly Colly's. The train that is shown in this video tipped over while my aunt and I were on the ride, among others. I was 10 to 12 years old at the time. A hot summer day, the train operator was going too fast and the train tipped over. SCARY! That was the last time that I was at this park, It had to be the mid 70's. You never think it could happen to you!! It can!

  • My first time going there as a little kid, I was in awe of the huge clown you had to walk through his legs to get in. I remember standing there and as I looked up and up, to see the clowns face, I fell back on my butt LOL

  • I am a fairly new resident of North Attleboro and live about 100yrds from where this used to be. I remember the days as a kid at Lincoln Park as we lived in Fall River at the time but I never knew there was such a place as this. It is sad to see the shape the lot is in now though but thanks for the videos.

  • That was a great place! We used to go there with our church youth group from Woonsocket, then go eat supper at the Colstone Pancake House across the street. We looked forward to it every year!

  • @jeffs666 Ah yes, the Colestone Pancake house. We used to go with relatives for a Sat. evening supper once a month.

  • Oh that boy is sooo cute!!!!!!!! What a fun time in history! Thanks for posting.

  • I remember going here every summer,, so sad to drive by in now and see Jolly Chollys gone!! Thx for sharing,, u made my night,,, :) I remember the train ride being on of my favorites!!

  • I hope more videos/old home movies of this and other defunct New England parks can be found and added.

    So many have been lost.

This was my favorite growing up nearby. In the meantime, go to Canobie, Lake Compounce, or Santa's Village

  • How cute is this little boy??? Adorable @ 2:35!

  • awesome home vid that is so HQ for some old vid those hand peddle carts @ 3:22 look so cool if we had those in every park along with flying cages there would be less fat kids. I think I might be on to something. a green amusement park maybe put a couple of fat dudes in a hampster wheel to power the ferris wheel stuff like that and no don't think the all the consession stands are gonna be nothing but Boca burgers and granola ick (shivers) lol

  • Oh, for such simple pleasures again! Thank you for sharing this, what powerful images of a simpler, happier era! (I worked there in '73 - '74, first job!)

  • Wow this sure brings back some great memories, thank you for this!

  • Adorable! I,too, was the same age as that young man...Great memories. Last years of the age of pure innocense! Fun,happy, times!!! Awesome park!!!

  • That kids awesome, he's not even steering.

  • Wow, I remember the helicopters that could go up and down. Great video.

  • thanks for sharing your movie Tom really brought back some great memories..

  • Thanks again. All the best rides, the train, the cars on rail, the hand carts.

  • i always wanted to see what it looked like at this place. The enterance arrow is still standing today thats rusty and the building was there in the late 90's but they tore it down i believe in 2001 or 2002

The miniature golf sign is still there but im not sure if that was added after this home video was taken.

  • Yes the good old 8 mm movies like this that my dad once took of us and his travels with with out the sound. These are the places that we will always remember in our childhood years and I can remember the boats like this down to the beach and the train rides at Rocky Point park in RI where I remember very well. Thanks for sharing these great times with us baby boomers.

  • That video is absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing it with us! I remember going there as a child. There are not enough places like that left today, if any at all. Thanks again.

  • wow. That was just wonderful. I would have been about the age of that tot with the little league cap when this was taken...but I remember Jolly Cholly's. I remember it fondly. thank you so much for sharing this, it long gone, and photos of it seem so rare.

  • Wow! What a time capsule to a simpler time. Thanks for posting!

  • You rock for posting this video - thanks!

I was born in 1970 and have lot's of happy memories of Jolly Cholly's. All the rides pictured plus the Scream Liner and the Salt and Pepper Shaker! Loved the family outings to all those 50's/60's roadside family attractions all over New England.

  • Great memories of JC's!!

  • i had so much fun watching your family video! thank you so much for sharing it. i grew up in plainville/north attleboro and spent many happy days at jolly cholly's. my favorite ride as a child was the whip, and the little boy holding on to his hat is so cute. what a beautiful family you have!

  • I have great childhood memories about Jolly Cholly's. We went there every summer when I was a kid. (I'm from Medway). I found Jolly Cholly T-shirts at Claire's Casuals in Attleboro a couple of years ago and gave them to my siblings as Christmas gifts. We all had a hoot over them.

    Thanks for sharing memories.

  • JC's was a great place while growing up in NA. Witchi's sports arena, The Golden Cue, the Friday night Hop -all local teen hang outs in the 60s

  • Thank you so much for posting your old 8mm movie. Even without the sound, it's great. Us "Boomers" recall with great fondness these simple pleasures of outings with the family to places like Jolly Cholly's, Treasure Island, Nantasket Beach, etc. Kids these days may be into differnt things, but keep connected to them, laugh and play together!Don't loose sight of "family first". Time passes so quickly, take time to do fun stuff with your kids, they'll be grown and gone before you know it. Peace!

  • Hey, I remember Jolly cholly's. My uncle Carl Spavold used to work there. Does anyone remember Jack Witchi's Sports Arena. I remember working there every Friday night. Always looked forward to it, that was the best part of my life for sure! I cried when it burnt down. Anyone have any videos of Jack Witschis ???
