  • The memories I get when I listen to the Brothers Gibb, is just toooo much! I LOVE THEM. Don't care what you say, the dancing was GREAT!!!!!

  • I remember these days so fondly listening to the Gibb brothers...their music has some special meaning in my life. It is sad to have Maurice gone, and time marching on for Barry and Robin...Love these guys and their music!

  • wow

lonely days aren't with this song :o

  • Good morning mister sunshine!!

  • Rare talents and we are blessed to have enjoyed them throughout our lives.

  • Great song, deal with negative people with benign indifference.

  • I love this group.

  • @paqumike , I absolutely concur with your analogy, why are so many people so judgemental...

  • Bee geas has a very hard voice.

  • Say what you will, but these boys sold some albums. They got paid.

  • @danelsons they also had to work their butts off to make those somgs it takes work to make a recording it is not all play none of it is untill you think or know you made another hit , they earned the money they made, not just getting paid it takes a lot of work so many think all you do is go in and make a recording

  • @lonelymikey55 HEY LOONEY, my responce was to those my comments that the BEE GEES were not as good as this band or that band. So reread my post and see if you get it now that I splaind 2 u. At one time these boys were the best.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR LOONEY :-)

  • It's human nature to compare things, people... Hmmm-I'd choose BeeGees for 15 reasons, one is because of robin . That's it. Sorry Beatles .

  • I really miss these guys...light years beyond comprehension of today's narrow trash

  • Brothers Gibb will endure in the Eternity hall of fame. Never again will such a unique group exist.

  • Beyond Epic! such a sound such emotion! Bless the Gibb family!

  • Great song. The Bee Gees prior to Saturday Night Fever were great. I could not take the falsetto disco stuff. To those who liked that era, go for it. It was just not my cup of tea.

  • @doobster2010 I sort of agree with you. I have loved the Bee Gees since the 1960's, and I like the Disco sound they did too, but I prefer the before Saturday Night Fever music.

  • oh god i remember when Barry looked like that, I mean the hair gorgeous beard!!!!! I loved the twins sooo much too...But god Barry

  • I've always felt that if a band sounded almost like their records live, they were truly talented people. These guys are timeless; just like this song.

  • If you are going to argue about this song instead of enjoy it, then why are you watching this video?

  • the bee gees are not the beatles.they are better.

  • @aggager078 I beg to differ with you, aggager078. Although I do adore the Bee Gees and think they are a multi-talented group - there would probably be no Bee Gees were it not for the Beatles. The songwiting team of Lennon/McCartney is unsurpassed to this day. The Beatles started it all for the world - but left ample room for all other bands to shine as well.

  • @Lonestarry i should have phrased it differently.i dont disagree with you.what i should have been more clear about is the bee gees are my favorite group ever.

  • @aggager078 Well - I too think the Bee Gees were a fabulous band - totally ahead of their time - great harmonies - I just loved them. It's such a shame Maurice passed away and I've been hearing rumors that Robin is very ill - I hope they are not true.

  • @Lonestarry Unfortunatley what you hear about Robin is true :( He's very ill with liver cancer.

  • @magpieeye Oh dear....oh no. I'm so very sorry to learn of this news. I will keep him in my prayers.

  • why don't all yu fukin pussy's shut to fuk up or go away

  • Such a miasma of talent, the Bee Gees........so why must I be haunted by these mormon promo video thumbnails to my upper right with every YouTube clip I watch?

  • I love Bee Gees.Thanks

  • The Bee Gess have no need to "fit" anyone's idea of what music "ought" to be; what they did stands on its own merits...they were what they were...and in my humlbe a damned talented group.

  • for years i thought this was a Beatles song but could never find it!!!i it wasn't of course....but it should have been!!!

  • this is the dogs bollox of a tune come on the bee gees x

  • fantastic

  • if you knew anything, barry was one of the original beetles before they became famous !!!!!! then lennon replaced him before their tour to america, which incidently put the beetles on the map !!!!! so there!!!!!

  • @ywillburn What are you talking about? Thats the funniest thing I've ever heard! So Lennon never played with the Beatles in Germany? Wow... You are a regular encyclopedia of Rock and Roll.... only thing is... you're wrong about everything!

  • @ywillburn....Dude, you're joking, right? I mean, seriously..you cannot POSSIBLY mean that. Because if Barry Gibb was an orginal Beatle, then that would mean that Santa Claus and The Easter Bunny are real.

    You moron.

  • Where would i be xxx

  • this song is one of the most beautiful

  • AWESOME LOVE THE TEMPO CHANGES....DEF....INSPIRED BY THE BEATLES....LOVE THIS GROUP....

  • A beautiful memory just before the 'You Should Be Dancing' and 'John Travolta' era..

  • Robin in hot in this video. Thats all I have to say...Damn...

  • bee gees are great, but this song sucks...

  • Damn, this song is almost 40 year-old. What a LEGEND !!!

  • Everyone tries to put the BeeGees in the same box with Lennon/ McCartney! That is so untrue! Tho when they were youner and starting out there wasn't even a Beatles Band yet!! Their music is Their own. Perhaps because they are all British may have something to do with their "inspirations"?

The BeeGees are much more talented than the Beatles.. And what a stupid name. After a Bug!

Lol. Never liked the lads.. Their music was nothing but screaming noise or crazy words.. Music to get High by!

  • @Witchypoo031664 Your response/reaction to the Beatles reminds me of all the old people who criticized them without ever listening to their music. The Beatles name, of course, follows Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Try listening to lyrics before criticizing, not all were great, but many were. The Bee Gees, of course, are and were great in their own right. No comparison needed, they were incomparable in their own style.

  • Comment removed

  • @Witchypoo031664 first thing the beetle is a bug while beatles aren't bugs, second thing the beatles had a band when the bee gees were starting out in the early 60's, third thing is the beatles and the bee gees are both equally talented, and number D the beatles had no music that was "music to get high by" just music that required deep thinking.

  • The Bee Gees definitely took inspiration from the Beatles on a number of early tracks, they were produced by the same guy for a while. The changing-tempo nature of Lonely Days was apparently inspired by the Beatles' album Abbey Road which came out around the same time.

All the same, I agree with paqumike, they are very much their own band.

  • I listened to the bee gees everyday. Oh man, I'm addicted

  • I allways thought Barry Gibb and Greg Evigan (My two Dads) was the same guy!

  • I thought the BEATLES SANG this?

  • THE BEE GEES BRIGHTEN UP MY DAY:::::

  • It's a little known fact that, early in his career, Michael Jackson took dancing lessons from Robin Gibb. (the one in the middle)

  • ITS not fantastic; > ITS MORE THAN FANTASTIC

  • absolutely fantastic

  • It wasn't this song that people thought was the Beatles. I for one. It was N.Y. Mining Disaster 1941. "Don't go talking to loud, you'll cause a landslide, Mr. Jones!"

  • woah woah WOAH eaaaasssssssyyyy guys, slooooooooooooow dooooown

  • why so godamn fast?

  • Have just discovered this and Nights on broadway..... am amazed...it's fanastic and I can't get enough of it.

  • Where would I be without my women?

  • Why the f%%k do so many people feel the need to "compare" everything. Just enjoy the damn music and if you don't then just move on. All musical artists perform as to their abilities, what moves them and what has influenced them. The result is, in the best of them, and individual and unique sound. Yes, the BG's aren't the Beatles and I'm sure that they never meant to be. They wrote, sang and performed based on who they were. Why is that so hard to understand?

  • @paqumike "SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

right??? the shut up, I didn't say it for you, is for all who get to compare and say stupid things! hahahaha

  • @paqumike yes! I listen to all types of music, lots of bands, soloists, whatever my emotions can connect with. What a drag if all music was the same anyway. thanks for telling it like it is. It's annoying reading negative comments about any band. I say: like it or go to another page, plain and simple. Love this song by the way!

  • @paqumike well siad man only wish more people would think like me and you

  • @paqumike lmao people compare because its in their nature to say that X is better than Z. Jus let people say what they want.. I hate when people tell others not to complain about a certain product because everyone has their own opinion and it should be listened to wether it be good or not. Clearly its your opinion that people shouldn't compare yet it is natural for people to compare. Its like me saying people shouldn't say a Whooper is better than a McBurger. Opinions matter, dont shut them down

  • @paqumike hello wow how wonderful to meet someone with same viewpoint as me. WOw. I have stated many times on utube comments that i do not compare artists. Its just this simple. Are we are not intelligent individuals who are capable of making up our own minds and our own choices on what we like in terms of all genres of art. and in this case music. Therefore, if that is so than why would you ever allow anyone to make your choices in life for you. If we like something than that is our choice.

  • @MermaidPrincess9 therefore , why do we constantly feel that we need to compare. It should not be that the Bees Gees arent the Beatles.. that is right and thank goodness they are not for the simple fact that we are all individuals with our own tastes and interest in music. THerefore,,choose what you like and write a fav comment and also respect other peoples choices in music as well. That is why there is Vanilla Chocolate and Strawberry and many other flavors of ice cream to choose from.

  • @MermaidPrincess9 As i stated the Bee Gees are not the Beatles and thank goodness they are not . and the reason i say that is because they are their own entity and they bring their own magical colours to the world of rock and pop music as did the Beatles. All artists have their story to tell and their own style of songs and music and if you connect on some level with them great if not than thats fine too but dont knock someone elese choice if they happen to connect with a band that you do not.

  • @MermaidPrincess9 in closing i just want to go back to the original statement hear is why do we feel the need to compare every band or singer or musician in a certain genre of music. Why cant we just recognize that each band has its own unique or beautiful colours that make them who they are. If we are drawn to certain band or genre of music or singer than its because we have a deep connection with the band or artist. A soul connection. Its what we like so dont compare and respt otherschoices

  • @MermaidPrincess9 one final note .. Why not step out of your comfort zone once in a while .. and you might be surprised what you find out ..Try something new once in a while instead always what you usually like perhaps a new genre of music or a different singer or band. You might surprise yourrself. If we only ever stay in our own back yards and never go beyond that than how do we ever expect to grow as a person and expand our horizons.Life is an adventure to be lived. Be adventurous/.try new.

  • @paqumike What's with all the anger? If you like the Bee Gees, like the Bee Gees. So what does it matter if other people don't or want to compare them to the Beatles or whatever. They have their opinion, you have yours. Be good with that, let them do what they do. You do what you do and be OK with that. Peace out to all.

  • @paqumike

Very well said paqumike. Your constructive comments are probably the best I've read on youtube. It's no wonder you've received 52 "thumbs up" (53 now).

  • @paqumike yes and thank g-d for the bros. Gibb.

  • @paqumike Extremely well said! We all move to a different drummer, as the saying goes.

  • @paqumike Because they're 12 year olds, ne'er-do-wells, creepy shut ins, welfare suckers, single mothers and assorted refugees from the outside world who prefer to dodge real world responsibility by living through the internet vicariously?

  • Wish I could have been in the front row....

  • wicked song first time heard this love it.

  • who the fuck disliked this. cock suckers.

  • DISCO IS THA SHIIIIET!!!

  • @flybreath I agree: some (in fact most, imo) of their best songs were pre-disco. "Words" is good, as is "I Started a Joke," "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," and "I've Gotta Get a Message to You." Their body of work is commendable, and the fact that so many people have covered their songs speak to their talent in song writing. I just thought the Beatles vs. Bee Gees comparison was over-the-top. Peace!

  • @karmadhyana I dont compare the Moody Blues with the Beatles. Nor do I compare the Bee Gees with the Beatles. That to music is like comparing your Mother with your Father if you had two very good Parents who loved you and raised you right. Comparison crap with anything whether it is Sports,Movies,Music,or any form of Entertainment is just plain stupid late 20th Century and early 21st Century problem that people are stck too much into.

  • @BBQFanNo1 I can pick up what you're laying done! Comparisons don't serve any meaningful purpose when it comes to comparing one person to another.

"If you compare yourself to others you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself."~~Desiderata

  • @BBQFanNo1 I can pick up what you're layin' down... Comparisons don't serve any meaningful purpose when it comes to one's drive, motivation, intention. At one point or another we will recognize that to use it as an easy way to label someone is really making a pre-judgement about someone we know nothing about.

"If you compare yourself to others you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself."~~Desiderata

  • OMG I just went back 35 yrs.! No really, I actually went back in time, waiting for my parents to take off for the weekend with the younger sibs and they no sooner left when I had this 'record' blasting the BG's!!!

  • @flybreath Imo, there is no comparison to The Beatles--at least I have never heard anything that was worthy of being compared to them. The BGs, while great song writers, don't compare to the Beatles. During the week of 4 April 1964, The Beatles held twelve positions on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including the top five positions. Neither feat has been matched by ANY other artist to date. The BGs, on the other hand, enjoyed most of their fame doing DISCO. Good band, not iconic.

  • @karmadhyana they are certainly iconic here is australia. they had so many hits...had a lulll...had many m,ore hits...had a lull and then wrote great tracks for some of the biggest pop divas of all time in the 80's....chain reaction was huge here in australia. the bee gees were great song writers. their songs were pure.

  • OK so I am shocked, I had no idea this was a Bee Gees Song, I thought it was either a Beatles song or Moody Blues

I am now more of a fan than I was before

  • NO MATTER WHAT LIFE GOES ON , SO U ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST , GO WILD GO OUT ENJOYING LIFE WITH A SMILE , U TAKE IT WITH YOU !!!

  • Maybe where you grew up, I knew from the get go it wasn't the Beatles !

Just wasn't up to their Caliber !

  • ♫♥♫los bee gees[iminent rb=anim][/rb]

  • This song was 40 years ago no.4 in the world charts #bee #gees

  • Barry Gibb was absolutely gorgeous..... still looks good.

  • its true, lonely days with justin beiber singing:(

  • I always wished to hear this ...said and/or sang to me...the feelings it expresses. Music does express. It all comes from life experiences. How odd to feel lonely and loved. The loneliness comes from the fact that the love is not given to me as much as I give. I can tell...by his actions. His words...his heartache by the past he has had. Not giving up that past...to build the present and the future.

  • Robin said Oasis recorded a cover of this song for Maurice Gibb's tribute cd.. However we will never hear it because Robin never put out the album. Does anyone know why? Paul McCartney also did a version of Too Much Heaven for the same album.

  • I love their harmonies and their special sound. Brilliant.

  • What a beautiful, classic masterpiece! Thank you eternally!

  • This song was 40 years ago no.5 in the world charts #bee #gees

  • Lots dont know this was a Bee Gees song.

  • People that don't know this band don't know that these are composers, artists, vocalists, live and studio performers, musicians, singer/songwriters, songwriters for other musicians. They are in the sound business and have reached the heights of that business. They put out pretty darn good sound don't they?

  • great documentary on BIO!

  • Love this song. Wishing he'd sing to me....and I don't care if he can't carry a tune. His voice is music to me.

  • The most if not the only incredible group on the planet.

  • my first time to listen to Bee Gees, very nice music

  • Mark me down as one who thought this was the Beatles the 1st couple times I heard it. Thought it was some lost b-side. When I found out it was the Brothers Gibb & had to re-examne my take on them! STill love this song, all time classic jam for the ages! The cool thing about the 70s was you could dig these guys, Aretha, Stevie Wonder, EWF AND Rush AND Alice Cooper AND James Gang AND Eagles AND Judas or Boston or whoever. The MTV walls hadn't been erected, eclectism was still cool!

    peace!

  • @redfishradical i agree this song does sound like a Beatle Tune.

  • Precious music, thank God there are the Bee Gees songs.

  • One of the greatest bands ever, period. The magic they created together is timeless. Pure talent.

  • what have you done? Please, let's enjoy this offering it is genius in changing of tempo and it deserves better.

  • My favourite Bee Gees song

  • Good Morning!

  • @russysy

But you are some racist ! So please!!!!

Dont abuse such beautiful music , ok?

Saw lot´s of your insulting comments against

    the minorities in your country.

  • @russysy

But YOU are writing nazi comments against gypsys and jews.

     btw: I am black.

  • @russysy

    And you need some brain.

YOU ARE SOME RACIST WHO IS DOING RACIST, INSULTING

    COMMENTS AGAINST MINORITIES.

SO NOW I AM SOME GYPSY AND SOME NAZI?

    LOL

  • and they called us hoes

  • Thank God for the chance to have adored the Bee Gees! They will always be legend!

  • Bee Gees: None like them before, none like them has ever followed. Musical brilliance, second to none. We love you all, brothers Gibb! You are one of a kind!

  • I love this song!

  • Goosebumps

  • The Beegles

  • i love Robin. he is so sexy!

  • So good!! I love bee gees, Barry so sexy

  • I was 12 then this song was playing on the school bus radio.

  • I saw these guys in 1974 in Perth, Australia.

    brings back some nice memeories.

  • Awsome song! Clearly a Beatles-influenced song. I also thought this was the Beatles when I first heard it many, many years ago.

  • I love love love the Bee Gees - Rest In Peace Maurice.

  • Good song - but not into them.. My sister is and she has huge 3 brothers Bee Gees tatttoo on her back - Saddo! Was embarrasing enough when she was in to Runrig ha

  • My older sister use to be absolutely freakn` grade A fanatical about Barry in the `70`s. I remember clear as day like it was yesterday walking in her room one day when I was about 8 and she had almost every inch of her wall covered in pictures of him, and she cut out the other Bee Gees lol!

  • @JamesTKirkCobain I was the same way with Van Halen! (with Roth, of course) I had so much shit on my wall, you couldn't see the wall!!!

  • The BeeGees prior to their disco days could compete with nearly anyone, but when they turned to disco they ruined themselves.

  • @uummmiforgot that is your opinion and i respect that. i know lots of people don't really like the disco era, but i can dig it. the bee gees went through different phases of music through their career, and i really think each phase was a success. i love all their music including the disco era. i love singing and listening to all the bee gees music. just my opinion as well, but that's what i think :)

  • The harmonies in this song are fantastic.

  • Barry forever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pretty much the most underrated band that ever walked this planet....genius

  • I cannot get enough of The Bee Gees!!! They are and always will be number one on the charts!!!

  • Finally at the end the crowd stands up. I would have been the crazy lady in the front row going nuts!!!

  • My high school graduating c/o 75 how cool was that.

  • Pure genius, what musical talent they had/have. On a par with The Beatles imo.

  • The gujys at the Penal Unit for Mentally Ill really loved this song! One guy howled for 4 hours straight after he heard it on a guard's tape-player

  • Man! (or rather boy! :) Look at those baby faces! When you see all that hair you know you've got an early one. Barry looks like he was growing it to save for later or something. I don't care, he's still a chick magnet even today and I'm at least 15 years younger then him.

  • MAN i love that GIBSON SWITCHMASTER that Barry is playing!!!

  • When this song first came out people thought this was the Beatles. The Bee Gees are an awesome group.

  • I love the Bee Gees, Barry gibb is pretty much one of the most UNDERRATED MUSICANS ON THE PLANET!

  • @LifeIsGood63 So when this came on the radio, all of my friends in the car say, definitely beatles.

  • @SaxyMan93 No. These were rumors at the time,,

  • @LifeIsGood63 Sure did...cost me a $20 bet to learn the truth. Still sounds like the Beatles to me...lol

  • @LifeIsGood63 ....that is so true and I was one of them lol

  • @LifeIsGood63 That surprises me--the Bee Gees sang through their noses--a very nasal sound. Nothing like Beatles sound, harmonies, orchestration, style...I just don't see the comparison.

  • my mom used to sing this to us in the mornings to wake us up for school...lol...

  • The finest band I have ever seen, pure genius.

  • Fabulous....Robin your a very Sexy Man.....

  • Robin & Barry & Maurice(RIP).. ARE VERY ATTRACTIVE MEN.....
