  • Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Watched your videos - they're very well put together. The boat looks like it sails like a dream. Very well done.

I know the east coast well (I have family in the Moncton area), though the boat I'm going to build will be plowing through the waves of southern Ontario. I may be in touch asking for some advice in the near future.

  • @basketclam No problem, and thank you, it sails well, we actually were featured in the newspaper in Saint John last year for the large trip we did, which we are sort of repeating this year. This time we are starting in Fredericton and coming down the Saint John River to our home port in Rothesay, 150km roughly. It'd be some fun in lakes in southern Ontario, you'll enjoy it. Any questions let me know, glad to help. I have documented the construction. Once we're out again I'll have more videos.

  • Where did you guys find the plans for this boat? Or did you just throw it together sans plans?

  • @basketclam Hey, yeah we had plans, which we stuck too loosely but we modified with different materials that we're either easier to find in our region or just made sense again for the area we planned to sail our boat in, South Eastern Canada. The plans are from this great guy who put together a book, he is from New Zealand, if you look up Garry Dierking you can find this plan "Wam'pa" and others in his book which can be ordered from his site I think.
