  • Even the residents of Bangalore who now have realized the importance of tree's have to be blamed.

    80% of the residents have violated building bye laws of set back which could have been used for planting trees.

  • All the dudes and ladies commenting are ones who commute in AC cars....to go underground u need 1000 cr extra...Tata Motors is finding hard to raise such money even at 12-13% interests....and who will give money to a public works project to go underground....astu idre....music videos madodara badlu...duddu collect maadi...and STOP putting spanner on METRO which will help 15 lakhs common bangloreans....why dont u guys take BMTC to shoots for starters...

    there are two issues here - one that the metro is taking over public parks and spaces. we're not able to create new spaces in the city, atleast we should save what already exists. second issue is that - the people who are impacted were not really consulted before this route was discussed, although the law (karnataka town and country planning act)

  • Who says you cant create new spaces....B'lore turf club is being moved ensure that entire space is turned into a park...also Central jail was recently converted into Freedom park....there are lots of vacant spaces lying around in new layouts..which are not developed they can be picked up with honesty...by lalbagh and nanda road I mean all users in B'lore will be impacted the general public..not just the people who are protesting ...so u suggest METRO shdve run ads in papers profiting TOI etc

  • we're saying there are many alternatives - go underground, go on kr road, go on jayangar 9th main etc. if i understand the movie makers right, they like us want to stress that there are other alternatives like underground etc which can be used , so that we can save nanda road and lalbagh!

  • Fr going underground I already metioned you need 1000 cr extra...who will give?Metro did the ground work ages ago and route etc were up on their site since sometime...and as per RTI act anyone coud've got even more details from METRO corp..but no one did that and now when things are in threshold people want route changes...what ppl dont think is we will never get back the lost time...if u redo it we will delay metro by another 3 yrs atleast....can't we grow more trees in that time?

  • as for the point on ppl trvaelling in ac cars, actually yenandre, metro will serve mostly middle class and upper classes only, because the rates will be higher. the poor will continue to use BMTC!

  • What a joke...hv u been to delhi and seen who use METRO often?and prices wll be slightly higher thn BMTC(normal bus) whn ppl in Blore have welcomed more expensive Suvarna and Volvo buses the time saving advantage/safety METRO would give will make evn poor think and moreover bus price depends on diesel prices..u think prices of fuel wont rise in nxt 2-3 yrs? where as METRO is electric we can hv more control on pricing..also the more the ppl use METRO prices will reduce once it breaks even....
