I kept waiting for the epic ma thumpers or the caps or even the chases. All I saw was chasing midfield enemies with no clear role to play, a few OK returns which weren't required as the enemy didn't have his flag, a double kill from an ability I can only assume is there because of CoD and some guy generally getting his ass handed to him with a class widely regarded as (currently) the best in the game set to a really annoying soundtrack.

I think the confusion is from what your definition of a point seems to be. If you were looking for a video that had killshot after killshot lined up with intense visual effects accompanying each kill, you'd want a montage. This is pretty clearly meant to be a more in depth look at how, for this player at least, the ranger actually 'plays' as opposed to the minor insight just seeing kills brings.
@grthwllms I appreciate your point but I can't agree, I wouldn't have minded if he was capping or chasing or defending or even attacking/defending the generator, harassing the offence, whatever, show us what the class is or isn't useful at doing but it doesn't bring any insight because he does absolutely nothing with the class. It's not in depth because he doesn't do anything to get any depth out of. He fills no role and it has no point, no matter which way you slice it... It's just bad play.
