Makes me think of Whitney Houston. Wow, how ironic that Ms. Dionne Warwick sang this song for a movie about the ravages of drug addiction for singers and actors. RIP Whitney Houston.....
The movie is campy and bad, but Dionne performed magic with that song. One of the stars suggested that she sing the title song. It was a number 2 song, and I want to say it was a double sided hit with I Say a Little Prayer, but don't quote me on that. One of her best. Dionne also sang the title song for the TV remake of Valley of the Dolls. I thnk it's on here.
This is a classic it was then and it will always be if you do not have this now is the time to get it before you can not find it any longer. What a wonderful voice, and the message in the song, this is a true classic.
I have always loved this particular performance of the Theme from the Valley of the Dolls by Dionne. I saw it as a kid. I believe this is from the 1968 Academy Awards Ceremony the was telecast. I had a clip of this up a few years ago here. Great, great performance.
