  • I do not believe in executions for any reason. Prisons keep dangerous people separated from society. Executions are for revenge. "Thou shall not kill" and "Revenge is mine, sayeth the Lord."

  • 'I'm going either home or home'

  • damn. death penalty over a freaking car.

  • Check out my channel for a Q&A from the Toronto film festival screening of Into the Abyss...

  • less people like him the world is better. More water for me :)

  • sometimes justice is about punishment !

is it ironic to stop killing you kill the murderers?

    or is more realistic that...

    somethings are just simply unforgivable...

and the death penalty... is punishment for heinous crimes

  • "Execution just sounds so Old Testament ... like Wrath of God ... I don't think Jesus would have approved!"

  • hey , when it's going to be released after all?

  • @ichbinlawollmond

Sorry, I think it's gone from theatres at this point. Not sure when it comes out on DVD. I saw it in theatres twice and it was great both time.

  • @siskelebertroeper can't wait to see. Im glad you've enjoyed

  • the guy kinda looks like Hilary Swank on "Boys Don't Cry"

  • As more and more people in this world are being victimized by an increasingly inhuman economic system, desperation grows. The sole purpose of the death penalty in this context is to terrorize and manipulate the population into obedience.

  • I just waanted to say to all of the people saying that these men BOTH deserved to be executed that within the next few years Jason and his supporters will be going back to court with newly discovered evidence of actual innocense. Also Mr. Herzogs movie is about humanity and not the case itself so any opinions formed based soley on this film incomplete.

  • What is Justice.

  • the death penalty should be everywhere in the world. as long as its humane. you put these murdering freaks out on parole and they are back on the streets, with no money, no job, and they are ready to steal and kill again. there lives have no value. some of you may think im wrong. but that's just because you havnt been the killer's next victim

  • @SukiSukiNiiNii You obviously haven’t seen Kieślowski’s “A short film about killing.” It will undoubtedly change - or having yourself question - your opinion, lest you were looking away half the time.

  • @Volturism sounds interesting. well i have a open mind so i will check it out. if my opinion changes i will let you know

  • I can understand where Herzog is coming from, but sometimes the ultimate punishment needs to be used. Some people simply cannot exist in society and actively try to destroy it. These men needed to be executed.

  • is this a movie or a documentary?

  • Does anyone know the first song played in this trailer? I cannot get over how haunting it is. I need the song.

  • i hate the death penalty, im glad canada doesnt have it

no one should be able to take a life for a life

the people who kill others with that penalty should also die becuase it is murder also

... there i put my 2 cents in (though i could go on forever about this topic)

  • @florah3 So you don't think a lot of the people who were put on trial in the famous Nuremberg Trials should've been executed?

  • @florah3 People like you obviously haven't never seen evil in it's most purest form.

  • the guys killed (adam and jeremy not the idiots who killed them) were extremely close to me and this made me have chills. ive seen that car in person ive been in that house. those guys were part of my crew and i believe that the death penalty was the right way to go.

  • peace in hell

  • I'm glad I caught a screening of this. It's a superb documentary. It presents a deep look into the motivations, emotions, and consequences of all people involved -- victims, convicts, the executioners. It shows a bleak cycle of tragedy through the families of the victims and the murderers. It's NOT anti death penalty propaganda AT ALL. Herzog doesn't excuse the crimes, but he also wants to show the murders as people. I highly suggest this doc.

  • Put what happens when they get it wrong are they charged with muder or manslaughter no they get off free. So how is this equal

  • I'm looking forward to watching this documentary. Word is that it's about as balanced as movies about this difficult subject have gotten.

  • I can hear it now: "Why do we kill people to show people that killing is wrong?" It's on a million bumper stickers, so it's bound to show up in these comments. Okay then, why do we kidnap people to show people that kidnapping is wrong?

See how that works? Murder is not morally equivalent to legal execution. Trying to conflate the two is confused at best, and more likely is just simple sophistry.

  • This film is really deep. Herzog nails it. Some of the people are truly bizarre.

  • You Americans sure are a unique bunch.

  • @mo0nbuggy yous need to get back to spayne or werever ur frum.

  • @antiirony What and where the fuck is "Spayne"? You must be American.......

  • @mo0nbuggy i dun give a European pimps second string hooker what or where YOU are from because we all know the answwer is SPECIAL EDUCATION. i am an AMERICAN citizen and I believe in freedom so drink some red wine, eat a cheese, and say cheese motherfucker because I just blasted u with some AMERICAN FREE SPEECH.

  • @antiirony Hot damn! slow down cowboy.......

What makes you think I'm European?

  • @mo0nbuggy gee, uh, maybe ur faggy way of speaking or maybe ur affiliation with ilogical statements. Youve got to be euro, if not ur probably from Zaire or something.

  • @antiirony Hahaha you're such a fucking idiot, I'm not even sure if you're serious or not. I don't care because either way I'm still laughing.

I'll give you a hit of where I'm from, click on my profile, ya' dick head.

  • @mo0nbuggy clciked on ur profile. had no idea u were from Antarctica.

  • @antiirony Omg, marry me xx

  • @mo0nbuggy people in general are a unique bunch

  • @mo0nbuggy and you are a bigoted, ignorant, misinformed fool with no ability to comprehend the fact that every single nation on this planet has its flaws. The United States is jam-packed with great, kind, and intelligent individuals. It is not conducive to anything positive to maintain your mindset of blind ignorance regarding stereotypes of others. Do not judge us by our middle-American inhabitants who do not know any better. Wise up.

  • @ekimusman2 Fuck off shit head

  • No matter where you stand on the issue, this film is a true masterpiece.

  • @YogzDaBeatChild life in prison sounds better

  • why make a movie about these pieces of shit?

  • @vladvoro the movie is not about them so much, as it is about the fact that people like them exist. (and how society tries to deal with them)

  • execution is so wrong. man o man, the fact that people are happy about it. saddens me

  • @hificomponentsystem No execution is not wrong. If you willingly take another person's life for your own selfish gain, then your own life should be forfeit. Execution removes animals like Michael Perry from our society. He'll never again have the chance to murder another human being and good riddance to him..

I'm not happy that he threw his life away, but I am relieved that he's been removed from among us.

  • @thafoofa

I understand your point of view, but the fact that people feel they have a right to take away others lives despite their actions. I agree with captivity to prevent sin suvh as that bu t all life belongs to GOD.

  • @hificomponentsystem You are correct that all life belongs to God, and that includes the lives taken by this animal. In the Bible, the commandment "Thou shall not kill" is translated back to its original language as "Thou shall do no murder". Murder is the premeditated act of killing someone strictly for selfish gain, in this case, to gain that car. Michael Perry did not deserve to live rent free at our expense, especially since he seemed so remorseless about his crime. I'm glad he's gone.

  • @thafoofa do soldiers believe in the commandment "thou shall not kill"

  • @thafoofa

Yes but what did God promise to do to any man that killed Cain? Lay unto him 10 fold the transgression.

We better watch ourselves, the death penalty will only cause more problems than we could imagine

  • @thafoofa Very good point. However, being glad someone is dead (im assuming) translates to hate. In the Bible it is said that hate is an equivalent to murder. furthermore because all life belongs to GOD, it is meant that it is not anyones authority to take that away from anyone including yourself. However you have your opinion and I respect that.

  • @hificomponentsystem Likewise, I respect that you have yours. I'm not happy that this man is dead. Maybe a better way for me to say it would be to say that I'm relieved that he is not among us any more. Every moment that this remorseless creature drew breath would be another chance for him to kill again. It's an ugly business any way you look at it, but I guess this is what happened when sin was let loose upon the world.

  • @thafoofa fair enough. Sometimes I guess you can't help the way you feel.

  • @YogzDaBeatChild reformation: Help the person become a productive member of society. Not only would this save human lives, but would also severely decrease the amount of re-offenders if introduced to normal jail sentences.

  • @YogzDaBeatChild I hope this helped you understand the other side of the argument better :) when it comes to the politic and practical problem with this solution in wherever you live I cannot comment on. but atleast this is how I would go on improving the system.

  • @YogzDaBeatChild additonally I'd say the point of death penalty is not for the good if the society, its more of a revange from the people that has been insulted by the act. You can say 'Oh but you'd feel different if it were YOU who lost a child', and yes I would feel different, I'd probably be so full of rage I couldn't think about anything else than revenge, much less anything that could resemble justice.

I do not belive in monsters, only misguided and damaged human beings

  • @YogzDaBeatChild I think the better alternativ is treatment. I see no problems with it. I live in Norway and here the harshest penalty is 21 years in jail, and that has worked out quite well. It works like this: you treat and help the people that commit these terrible acts, BECAUSE they are simply not fit in our society. if they are not 'healed' by the 21 year period, and not ready to be put back in the community, they may serve another 21, and so forth.

  • we're going to show you killing is wrong by killing you.. and for some reason, murders still happen. go figure!

  • @enceph7 some people dont belong here; not looking to get in an argument but some people just don't belong in society or even prison

  • @BoxingIsFun I'm not sure how one decides who "belongs" or does not.. When a murder is committed, I try not just to look for the "who dun it", instead I try to understand the social influences (such as poverty, lack of education or lack of medical aid) that allowed such a depraved act to occur. When we ignore the ills of our society and solely blame the individual for their mistakes, we effectively allow more murders to happen. As social creatures, we are responsible for each other. Real talk.

  • @BoxingIsFun More specifically, some people don't deserve life. I'm sorry but this is the truth.

People need to realize that "killing" somebody who has killed is NOT the same as real killing due to greed, power, or simply because they wanted to. Whoever does compare these two or use them in the same sentence needs to go take ethics 101.

  • put those fuckers DOWN~!

  • Of course the man seems sympathetic, he's locked up. Set him free and give him a weapon, and he's a monster. I say execute the fucker, if he hasn't been already.

  • Americans are prolifers who approve the death penalty. Whaaa?

  • Damn Americans with their killing.

What other countries have the death penalty? Hmm...

China, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran.... hmmm a few more, any western countries? No... just the US of A. What a disgusting practice.

  • Don't kill your son? They never have a chance? What about the victims?!?! They certainly didn't have a chance!

  • hahahahah i have a friend named michael parry

  • poor boys

  • hmm interesting

  • yankees de mierda... resuelven todo matanto..

  • people to appreciate others lives. Victims or suspects alike.

  • This isn't meant to make us feel bad. From the trailer I got that it's a movie trying to show

  • If they killed somebody they deserve to die

  • @MrBitchslap101 yeah because taken a human life is wrong...

  • lol you are not goin' home, you are going to die...

  • this will be interesting.

  • So I'm supposed to feel bad for these monsters? Is that what this movie is about?

  • @RebelfireLives "it's wrong to kill. So we're killing you" Reflect upon that.

  • @WaterCrystalline

Are you trying to equate all killing? That the murder of a woman in cold blood is the same as putting a convicted murderer out of society's misery?

  • @RebelfireLives Nope. I'm not. Since when did i sate i was doing so? Ending a life is bad. Be it either murdering an innocent person, or murdering someone for any reason other than self-defense or related scenarios. The man is already locked inside a prison.... he won't have any contact with society for the rest of his life, therefore he can no longer harm anyone. Yet, someone decides that his life now has to end. It's that eye for an eye philosophy....... what a shame.

  • @WaterCrystalline

I never said you were, I guessed that you were trying. Ending a life is not always bad. These men have proven themselves to not only a danger to society, but also a burden. Why exactly should we as a society provide housing, food, clothing, and recreation for those we have banished from civil life? It's not an eye for an eye philosophy, it for the protection and preservation of society.

  • @RebelfireLives Mmmm technically you're right. But look. If it's money issues, then the U.S shouldn't have a problem..... Look at all the billions of dollars that are spent each month to support war...... funny... billions are spent with the goal of killing and destruction. Yet those morons complain about not having cash for this or for that..... but here's the point. IT's STILL wrong. Even if they have no means to support those prisoners...

  • @RebelfireLives And put yourself in the shoes of his mother..... really.... try it. And imagine how it would feel to know that your "baby" ( despite having taken someone else's life ) is going to get killed. Simply because someone says so. That "Eye for an eye" thinking. is also visible in war. Take the killing of Saddam for example. America was "trying to stop the blood-shed, and violence" Yet, when they captured him, they hang him on Live Television with thousands of families watching.....

  • @WaterCrystalline

If I was the mother, and I found out my child had killed a woman over a car, I'd be horrified, probably broken. But would not think my child was some "victum of the system".

  • @RebelfireLives But it would hurt you to see him die. Wouldn't it? Don't bull-shit me. It would. Imagine what they must feel. Sure he's a monster. But he's her son.

  • Comment removed

  • @RebelfireLives No. It's about what it feels like to be on death row. What it feels like to know that you're gonna die and know exactly when you're gonna die and how it's gonna happen. Man is the only creature that is conscious of his own death. I don't give a fuck about these people, their poor choices brought them where they are. It's just interesting to see how each deals with the situation they are in, some accept them, some are in denial, others make up bullshit stories about afterlife.

  • I swear it's just dust in my eyes

  • Cannot wait.
