Yes, the G50V-A1 is the older G50 series. The new version is the G50Vt-A1 and has a better GPU :)

Somewhat. Gaming performance is still primarily based on GPU. There are some games out there that are more CPU intensive, such as Flight Simulator and the Sims, but for the most part, having a good GPU is key for gaming.

Absolutely! WoW and CSS are not graphically intensive games. Heck... you could even run WoW on integrated graphics :p

Actually, the native resolution of the G50V-A1 screen is 1680x1050.

Actually, that resolution is quite alright. But any higher, I'll probably need a magnifying glass. Higher res screens will be good if you need more screen real estate. The 'normal' resolution for a 15" is 1440x900, but I personally think a 1680x1050 is ideal.

I have the same laptop and when i try to play this game it runs like shit. Its like COD4 lowers my GPU core, while other games doesnt. Did you have the same problem? If so, how did you solf it?

I never had problems running this game. Try use different drivers from laptopvideo2go and see if that improves your performance. If you are still lagging significantly during game play, it could be your GPU overheating. Once the temp on your GPU goes above a certain threshold (usually ~100C) your GPU will automatically downclock itself to prevent any further damage to your system. Try use RivaTuner to monitor your temp while gaming.

If you buy an Asus from Best Buy, it won't come with anything nor does it have the standard manufacture warranty (only 1 year US warranty). If you purchase the Asus from an Asus reseller like GenTechPC, then it will come with a gaming mouse (either Logitech MX518 or a copperhead), a carrying case/backpack and 2 year international warranty + 1 year accidental protection + 30 day zero bright dot screen protection.

Similar..., dude ps3 and xbox run at about low-medium settings at 30ish frames. This runs it on high settings on full hd resolution with over 30 frames. This laptop is wayy better than xbox 360 and ps3

consoles do not run low-medium they run with medium to max. however it can change while the game is running to keep a solid 50-60fps

No, consoles run things on ~medium with VERY low resoultion compared to computers. Even comparing HD resolutions to 22 inch+ resolutions now adays are a joke.

What I like about PC's is that they can do homework fast. End. When you wanna play games online, go for the PC. When you want smooth gaming on your TV, go for the console. If you want the cheaper option, console.

Sir i´m not a pc fan but anyone know that consoles cant keep the grafics at max... they fake the grafics to be low medium trying to appear high. a game that shows that exacly is a rally game think is called drift... the consoles take out every thing that people dont pay attetion like reflections, mirrors, mirrors backgrounds, and other things like anti aliasing. so keep attetion before you say something you dont know.
