Sorry YouTube didn't alert me that I had a new comment. I am not sure what that is all about since the distro I did on these vids did not show the apple logo when booting, it was in verbose mode - meaning it displayed all of what it was loading. If you try it again you will want to boot the PC in verbose mode using -v when the darwin loader comes up first and see what the error is and go from there.
Thanks I ended up solving that problem by just booting the cd through safemode (-x) but ended up giving I have a ps/2 mouse and keyboard Leopard wouldn't read them (sigh) so I'm back on XP.
there is a kext you can use that will allow the use of a PS/2 keyb and mouse. Or just get a cheap usb key and mouse. prob for about $10 or less from like goodwill or some place like that.
Well if you look at my channel you'll see I'm a pretty computer literate person but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to install the kext is there any versions of Mac that come with them preisntalled I didn't fully understand how they worked....
you have to install the kext via command line input while it is booting in verbose mode. I don't remember the wildcard to make it boot so you can do that, but thats the way it is done. As for a distro with the PS/2 Kext - Leo4All with Leopard...10.5.3 I think it is, I don't remember the exact version but one of the newer but not newest ones, does have the kext built in to the installer - though I don't know if it actually loads IN the installer but will install it to the HD with the OS
I have a problem I downloaded it burned the iso then when I boot the cd the apple logo comes up like everything is loading and everything then a little circle with a line across it comes up this is really frustrating any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.
Probably not. You could get the disc, rip it to your hard drive, perform the necessary mods, then burn it to a new disc if you like, or just use one of the made for AMD versions out there already. Prob easier the second way, but could be a lot more fun the first way.
i formatted a usb drive as "mac os x journaled (extended)", but my installation failed, and now I can't use it on my windows machine. Any clue on how to reformat it to NFTS/FAT32 without a mac?
does anybody realize that this breaks the os ten license agreement? its against federal law! sure once you buy mac os ten its yours but, only licensed to what the agreement says... like a copy righted picture! its yours but you cant do what the copy right tells you not to! (legally)
Yes yes, I know it is illegal, which is why it is for demonstration and preview purposes only and not used in place of the actual hardware it is designed for.
Hey i'm just wondering, what are your computer specs? I'm a noob, and I just learned that a pc could run mac today. Can you please tell me what I need to run mac on my hp pc? Like do I need any specific kind of motherboard or something else?
PC Specs MSI K8 Neo4 Platinum AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Toledo 939-pin 4GB RAM Rosewill Z3 92mm heatsink ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT PCIe 512mb GDDR3 320GB SATA Western Digital ( XP Media Center ) 40GB Maxtor IDE ( Leopard ) Realtek AC'97 Audio Marvel Yukon Gigabig Ethernet nVidia Gigabit Ethernet As for what to run, I would search for the OSX86 wiki. That gives a list of compatable hardware
If you want to, sure. If you plan on using the entire hard drive for OSX then just format everything and erase all of the partitions and create one large partition and install there
My question to you is how risky is this? fixable risky or complete loss risky. I'm getting a new $1000 computer. I've seen mac and think it's great other than not being able to use games. If you find it not that risky than I may consider attempting this.
Not that risky. Risky as in if you are doing this on a computer that you have a ton of data on and what not that you don't want lost it would be risky as something might get erased. But it wont corrupt your hardware or anything
Cool. Somebody I know is getting leopard so I could borrow it from them. If I get a knew laptop all it will have is the hardware because I can't get all my programs on that fast. You rock!!
You can have as many OS's on a hdd as long as its a partition per OS. You won't lose windows if OS X is on a different partition. However you wont be able to boot into it if the windows partition is not active, i think you can use GParted to change the active partitions as well. I use hirens, but you can use what ever: Hey everyone wanted GParted, you can download live versions on the full version of linux (Knoppix, Ubuntu) online.
Which to be honest I know, but I don't want to say this isn't going to do anything to your other data and have a serious fuckup happen of some kind and then people come back yelling at me because I said to do it. I just want to cover my own ass lol
try redownloading the ISO from gparted's website - make sure you get it from their site, and then burn it using Alcohol 120% thats what I use and it woks great, doesn't mess up Boot CDs like other apps usually do
There is no Wifi on my desktop and sound wasn't working in SafeBoot, no, but that is only as far as I have gotten it. The AC'97 Chipsets are supposedly supported though
It might work, no guarantees though. Run CPUZ to make sure you had SSE2 and SSE3 first off and just go from there. Only you can find out if it would work or not :)
sadly that is the alarm with the battery changed. It is all screwed up, one of those ones that runs on house power, and ever since we had a big power surge that took out one of my computer's power supplies that has always beeped.
Aye you know for the leopard software does it gotta b the REAL software like bought one. or do i gotta mod it? cause i got the real thing and im wondering the fact it doesnt work when i just put the real copy in. so do i gotta make it an iso then burn it again or?
You have to have a modified version, or turn the one you have into an ISO and modify it via the guides they have out there explaining what you need to change and add and remove.
Like I said below in another comment I cannot post a torrent link but I tell you exactly what to search for in my videos. ToH makes the only AMD rework that I know of
Should be able to, though I do recommend using GParted instead of the Ubuntu CD as GParted is a more powerful partitioning utility, since that is what it is designed for, but if you used the Ubuntu disc to do the partitions it could work.
Theoretically yes you could erase the partition in Windows, yes, but the partition that it uses for OSX is one that Windows does not support.
All of my attempts from a Windows format didn't work, GParted gave it that /boot flag which does it I think. But that is just my Theory and what has worked for me so far.
hahahahahaahaha that was soo gay sucking on a lollypop jesuschrist dude you sure like to suck on things right? gross
