honestly, something about mark and his attitude is really bugging me lately. he used to be one of my favorite male pros and i think since he got the boot so early with shannon he has had a really terrible attitude and has tried to be too modern and innovative almost to a fault. to me, it almost seems as if he's trying to outdo derek or something. i wish he would go back to his old self - in case he didn't realize, derek has recognized just how good his choreography really is.
Oh my god the is the best thing this dumb show has EVER produced! They even used lights similar to Deadmau5's! I love how their clothes look kind of like Steam Punk + Nazi Germany XD They did an excellent job! ttly should be a 40!

@97Chopo Well keep in mind this: the judges don't always score correctly. I honestly don't believe Bristol's Paso was any better than Chelsea's. And Kristi and Shawn both deserved 30s for their dances. But that is pretty odd how they've steadily decreased.
@RichardCypher2100 That's not the point though. You can choreograph a more modern paso doble and still be technical. This didn't have many paso doble steps and not much technique either.
I totally disagree with the comment about her being better with Derek. Mark and Chelsea just look so adorable together they complement each other so well. I think the creativity he had with their dances this past season is the only thing that kept me watching the show is getting to be a little boring. Mark gave it a flare with practically all their dances and this one is no exception.

I just think that some of the older judges are getting too hung up on seeing just a straight Paso that they forget that maybe, just maybe, they forget that the dancers have to not only try to impress them judges, but the fans as well. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to see 10 weeks of just traditional ballroom dancing.
I think everyone can just mute the sound and watch them dance. It's the dance that matters, not how Harold Wheeler's band play a rendition of the song... They should've gotten a 10 in this dance and ultimately should have won.

I think it was mean of Mark to not show the type of affection to Chelsea that he always does just because Pia was there... He usually puts his arms around her or holds her close to him and this week he just stood there.
When I heard this song I immediately freaked. I'm not huge fans of the singers there though. They did well job of using what they had though (you know, horns instead of synthesisers and such :P)

I really don't understand all the criticism that has been directed toward Mark all season. He only spoke up after Brooke asked him directly how he felt about the judges remarks. Last week Mark sprained his ankle during the dress rehearsal for the quickstep but still wanted to perform the dance with Chelsea live rather than have the judges critique the rehearsal footage because he felt that she would get a better score. If he had this all about me attitude, why would he risk further injury?

I do not watch this show; I watched this video because I heard that they had done a Deadmau5 song. It was a great dance and all, but seriously people, the band butchered this. They somehow managed to make the best song ever sound like crap. Go do yourself a favor and search "Ghosts 'N Stuff." Listen. You will not regret it.
@OldeWindmill Sorry to say this, but the band has a notorious record of butchering songs. Due to this performance, Deadmau5 has gained a new fan (me). A lot of people search the song title in Wikipedia if they get interested in a performed song. They only do good in instrumental or classical music. Again, see "aiden turner quickstep" and if you're drinking water while hearing the cover of "Hey Soul Sister", you're gonna spit everything to the screen and laugh for 24 hours continuously. Cheers!
why do people think that traditional dance is boring? I think mark's choreography is getting boring becuz its always aiming for the dazzle rather than traditional dance. its getting really old.
@sesen100 Nearly all the pros do traditional routines, and I enjoy those way more. Mark seems to be all about doing this for attention for himself. Seriously, I doubt anyone else would have gotten away with doing the worm during their VW. If he wants to be edgy and showboat, fine, but he needs to deal with the criticism. Even Tom was joking about his little hand gesture moment this week. I'm sure he and Chelsea are in the finals. Whether he gets a 3rd trophy like his buddy Derek we'll see.

A lot of people over the years have said that Mark tends to be too much of a showman..That he over-dances his partners...( See Harry Potter ). I have see him since day one, and I intend to agree with it...He is a great choreo, but he also is obligated to help his partner win..But there are always several times every season when he does something that he knows is going to push Len's buttons..Glen has some standards, why to the others have not prob with it, but Mark does?..

I read that Mark appeared in the dance show Burn the Floor during the DWTS hiatus, so maybe this experience motivated him to try a new spin on some of the traditional dances. Chelsea had previous theatrical experience, so maybe these creative moves are something both of them want to try. During the rehearsal packages, Mark and Chelsea seem to be having a lot of fun. Last season Mark's choreography had to be more basic because Bristol was a true beginner. I have always liked Mark.
@prettypass2000 Please don't stop rooting for them. You loved them for a reason. Just because Mark got upset doesn't mean you should stop being a fan. Everyone has their off nights. Plus you can't blame his choreography. Yes, he should be more traditional, but he's trying to appeal to the audience too. Chelsea's popularity comes from kids who don't really watch dwts, so he's trying to bring out the fun in his partner and stand out.

I won't vote for Mark and Chelsea anymore b/c of his attitude. He's frustrated for being underscored. But he's the one who broke the rules. How could he expect the judge to give him better score when he couldn't even consist with what each dance should be. Mark and Derek are both talented and innovative. They both can think outside the box. But I think Derek still can impress the judges more because he can put his innovative choreography into traditional dance and it still looks amazing. While Mark is also innovative but take risk. Yes, Sometimes people need to take risk but those risks don't look good in dance. I've been watching the show since season 1 and I can tell why Mark is not that successful as Derek.
Those who insist that Chelsea and Mark lack chemistry should check again. They have a LOAD of chemistry. They had inside jokes a few days after they met and they've exchanges smiles/hugs/kisses so many times. In Mark's Hotwire and making of videos it's absolutely obvious how close and sweet they are together. Also, in the Week One and Week Two rehearsals, it's nothing but cute moments.
I know everyone watching is a fan of Team Kanenball (including me) so we're biased. But Len and the other judges are highly qualified and they know what they're talking about. I liked this dance, but I don't pretend to have an expert opinion.
And I did understand what Len said about it being "too aggressive." Paso has aggression but it's not just acting aggressive because you think you have to be; it needs some substance and control.
@ExpertAtMe I agree with you. They judged every couple relating to Ballroom dancing. Sometimes taking risks is good but I don't think their paso deserved better score than this. I've been watching the show since season 1. There have been many paso dances that look much better than this one and still can stick to the traditional way. Don't expect the high scores when he can't even stick with what the judges look for.
Brooke Burns is a TERRIBLE host. DON'T ask an effing question if you're not gonna let him answer. You've been doing this for HOW many seasons now and you STILL suck?! Jebus effing Chreesto.
Also, what Len was probly upset about was that the Paso is supposed to be an intense, passionate, aggressive, and yet elegant dance where the Matador at the end destroys that which he most loves.....There was very little of that in the dance.
The Paso is not supposed to resemble a Ultimate Fighting Cage Match, and Mark knew that, which is a shame 'cause I'll bet the Chelsea could really shine in a proper Paso....But it seems that every now and then, Mark tries to push Len's buttons..
Well, I guess last night answered the question if Mark's attitude is putting Chelsea in danger.....Only Kendra had a lower score, and remember, those are also fan votes...Last week, there were lots more who voted for them, but because of his attitude they lost about half of them...

Mark is at the point in his dancing career i think where he wants to be artistic. The problem is only 1 1/2 (Carrie Ann is on the fence) of the judges are going to give them the score that they deserve for it. However, i think Len needs to score Chelsea's dancing ability not the fact that he wasn't crazy about the choreography. If she did it correct that she needs the scores that say so. But at the same time...you would think mark would just swallow his pride after previous disagreements w/Len.
He was defending his work, he had every right to do so this is not the first time that the judges underscored them, and the guest judge gave Kristie a 9?!?!?! because of her energy and he gave them an 8 for this amazing performance like really dude..btw Mark's look to Chelsea at 2:03 is killer...And was it just me or was Mark really cold towards Chelsea even before the judges comments, he's not the gentleman that he usually is every week, even Chelsea was confused..PIA?!?!?!
@xoxyoyoxox I don't approve of Mark being with Pia. I just can't stand thinking of them as a couple. I don't know if it's because I'm biased with my Marsea shipping or because whenever Pia's around he doesn't act him normal self. His normal self is when he's with Chelsea. There was a complete difference between Monday and Tuesday night. A lot less hugs/kisses/(Mark) more fussy on Monday with Pia leaded to confused Chelsea. A LOT more hugs/kisses/exchanged smiles on Tuesday leaded to pure love.
@CarrieUnderwdfan I am not a fan of the whole Pia and Mark thing, we all saw how Mark was cold towards Chelsea on Monday night and it was obvious because Pia was there, after their Paso Doble dance poor Chelsea was sad and confused. On Tuesday night he was back to the Mark that we all know with the hugs, kisses, smiles, and touches especially at the end, they were the only couple who was holding on to each other the whole time. I have a feeling that Pia is jealous and she told Mark to stay away.

Poor Chelsea was really confused, it broke my heart. :( @8:12 you can see Chelsea wanted to lay her head on his shoulder to be closer to Mark, but he just kissed her head and she forced a smile... Chelsea seemed close to tears too, which seems more obvious in the backstage footage shown Tuesday.
But, guys, this isn't about the professionals. If you really like Chelsea and support her dancing ability, then vote for them. Don't stop rooting for them because you didn't like Mark's attitude. He was having a rough night, we all do. And, please, don't question their chemistry. They were really close and holding onto each other tonight. Mark cares about Chelsea a lot: another reason why he got bothered by the judges. Can't blame the guy.

@wildcat2114 i agree, he's showing off a bit too much. Chelsea is great dancer, there's no reason for drawing all the attention on Mark. He didnt mess around this much with Bristol last season... actually i prefer the choreography for Bristol's paso more than this choreography...

@NlKD0 ...he didn't "mess around this much" with bristol because she just sucked. i liked her well enough, but she was a horrible dancer. chelsea has the ability and talent to handle advanced choreography. had sabrina bryan stayed in on mark's first season, he would have done similar choreographer with her as well. this show can handle a bit more of a modern spin! i'd rather see this than kirstie alley clomping around like a damn clydesdale horse!

@NlKD0 You preferred Mark's choreography with Bristol?!!? Surely you a joking! Mark had to keep it boring and simple with that Bristol because she is stiff and boring. I am so effin happy for him this season! He has a GOOD partner that can keep up and he can actually do the more challenging, fun choreography that infuses elements of modern dance. I like when he "shows off." I love when the male pros show off, (Derek, Maks and Mark are my favorites).

I really don't understand all the criticism that has been directed toward Mark all season. He only spoke up after Brooke asked him directly how he felt about the judges remarks. Last week Mark sprained his ankle during the dress rehearsal for the quickstep but still wanted to perform the dance with Chelsea live rather than have the judges critique the rehearsal footage because he felt that she would get a better score. If he had this all about me attitude, why would he risk further injury?

I do not watch this show; I watched this video because I heard that they had done a Deadmau5 song. It was a great dance and all, but seriously people, the band butchered this. They somehow managed to make the best song ever sound like crap. Go do yourself a favor and search "Ghosts 'N Stuff." Listen. You will not regret it.

@OldeWindmill Sorry to say this, but the band has a notorious record of butchering songs. Due to this performance, Deadmau5 has gained a new fan (me). A lot of people search the song title in Wikipedia if they get interested in a performed song. They only do good in instrumental or classical music. Again, see "aiden turner quickstep" and if you're drinking water while hearing the cover of "Hey Soul Sister", you're gonna spit everything to the screen and laugh for 24 hours continuously. Cheers!

why do people think that traditional dance is boring? I think mark's choreography is getting boring becuz its always aiming for the dazzle rather than traditional dance. its getting really old.

@sesen100 Nearly all the pros do traditional routines, and I enjoy those way more. Mark seems to be all about doing this for attention for himself. Seriously, I doubt anyone else would have gotten away with doing the worm during their VW. If he wants to be edgy and showboat, fine, but he needs to deal with the criticism. Even Tom was joking about his little hand gesture moment this week. I'm sure he and Chelsea are in the finals. Whether he gets a 3rd trophy like his buddy Derek we'll see.

Cont: His attitude has been pissy all season, and now lost votes 'cause of it.Only Kendra had lower score. Last week Chelsea had lots of fan votes, but after his attitude and the Paso, they lost about 1/2 of them.Mark needs to get his act together quick.What prbly upset Glen, is the Paso is not supposed to be an ULT Fighting Cage Match..And he later got in Len's and Donny Burns faces.D Burns was/is the greatest judge/ ballroom dancer for 20 yrs, a god to all B-dancers. Embrsed mom, I'll bet.

A lot of people over the years have said that Mark tends to be too much of a showman..That he over-dances his partners...( See Harry Potter ). I have see him since day one, and I intend to agree with it...He is a great choreo, but he also is obligated to help his partner win..But there are always several times every season when he does something that he knows is going to push Len's buttons..Glen has some standards, why to the others have not prob with it, but Mark does?..

I read that Mark appeared in the dance show Burn the Floor during the DWTS hiatus, so maybe this experience motivated him to try a new spin on some of the traditional dances. Chelsea had previous theatrical experience, so maybe these creative moves are something both of them want to try. During the rehearsal packages, Mark and Chelsea seem to be having a lot of fun. Last season Mark's choreography had to be more basic because Bristol was a true beginner. I have always liked Mark.

@prettypass2000 Please don't stop rooting for them. You loved them for a reason. Just because Mark got upset doesn't mean you should stop being a fan. Everyone has their off nights. Plus you can't blame his choreography. Yes, he should be more traditional, but he's trying to appeal to the audience too. Chelsea's popularity comes from kids who don't really watch dwts, so he's trying to bring out the fun in his partner and stand out.

I won't vote for Mark and Chelsea anymore b/c of his attitude. He's frustrated for being underscored. But he's the one who broke the rules. How could he expect the judge to give him better score when he couldn't even consist with what each dance should be. Romeo still add the chick choreography into his traditional foxtrot and still fun to watch.

Mark and Derek are both talented and innovative. They both can think outside the box. But I think Derek still can impress the judges more because he can put his innovative choreography into traditional dance and it still looks amazing. While Mark is also innovative but take risk. Yes, Sometimes people need to take risk but those risks don't look good in dance. I've been watching the show since season 1 and I can tell why Mark is not that successful as Derek.

Those who insist that Chelsea and Mark lack chemistry should check again. They have a LOAD of chemistry. They had inside jokes a few days after they met and they've exchanges smiles/hugs/kisses so many times. In Mark's Hotwire and making of videos it's absolutely obvious how close and sweet they are together. Also, in the Week One and Week Two rehearsals, it's nothing but cute moments.

I know everyone watching is a fan of Team Kanenball (including me) so we're biased. But Len and the other judges are highly qualified and they know what they're talking about. I liked this dance, but I don't pretend to have an expert opinion.
And I did understand what Len said about it being "too aggressive." Paso has aggression but it's not just acting aggressive because you think you have to be; it needs some substance and control.

@ExpertAtMe I agree with you. They judged every couple relating to Ballroom dancing. Sometimes taking risks is good but I don't think their paso deserved better score than this. I've been watching the show since season 1. There have been many paso dances that look much better than this one and still can stick to the traditional way. Don't expect the high scores when he can't even stick with what the judges look for.

Also, what Len was probly upset about was that the Paso is supposed to be an intense, passionate, aggressive, and yet elegant dance where the Matador at the end destroys that which he most loves.....There was very little of that in the dance.
The Paso is not supposed to resemble a Ultimate Fighting Cage Match, and Mark knew that, which is a shame 'cause I'll bet the Chelsea could really shine in a proper Paso....But it seems that every now and then, Mark tries to push Len's buttons..

Well, I guess last night answered the question if Mark's attitude is putting Chelsea in danger.....Only Kendra had a lower score, and remember, those are also fan votes...Last week, there were lots more who voted for them, but because of his attitude they lost about half of them...
Did you see last night where they showed Mark getting in the face of Len at the end? And ABC also greyed out most of the gesture he made...Mark better get his shit together fast...

Mark is at the point in his dancing career i think where he wants to be artistic. The problem is only 1 1/2 (Carrie Ann is on the fence) of the judges are going to give them the score that they deserve for it. However, i think Len needs to score Chelsea's dancing ability not the fact that he wasn't crazy about the choreography. If she did it correct that she needs the scores that say so. But at the same time...you would think mark would just swallow his pride after previous disagreements w/Len.

He was defending his work, he had every right to do so this is not the first time that the judges underscored them, and the guest judge gave Kristie a 9?!?!?! because of her energy and he gave them an 8 for this amazing performance like really dude..btw Mark's look to Chelsea at 2:03 is killer...And was it just me or was Mark really cold towards Chelsea even before the judges comments, he's not the gentleman that he usually is every week, even Chelsea was confused..PIA?!?!?!

@xoxyoyoxox I don't approve of Mark being with Pia. I just can't stand thinking of them as a couple. I don't know if it's because I'm biased with my Marsea shipping or because whenever Pia's around he doesn't act him normal self. His normal self is when he's with Chelsea. There was a complete difference between Monday and Tuesday night. A lot less hugs/kisses/(Mark) more fussy on Monday with Pia leaded to confused Chelsea. A LOT more hugs/kisses/exchanged smiles on Tuesday leaded to pure love.

@CarrieUnderwdfan I am not a fan of the whole Pia and Mark thing, we all saw how Mark was cold towards Chelsea on Monday night and it was obvious because Pia was there, after their Paso Doble dance poor Chelsea was sad and confused. On Tuesday night he was back to the Mark that we all know with the hugs, kisses, smiles, and touches especially at the end, they were the only couple who was holding on to each other the whole time. I have a feeling that Pia is jealous and she told Mark to stay away.

Poor Chelsea was really confused, it broke my heart. :( @8:12 you can see Chelsea wanted to lay her head on his shoulder to be closer to Mark, but he just kissed her head and she forced a smile... Chelsea seemed close to tears too, which seems more obvious in the backstage footage shown Tuesday.

He was having a rough night, we all do. And, please, don't question their chemistry. They were really close and holding onto each other tonight. Mark cares about Chelsea a lot: another reason why he got bothered by the judges. Can't blame the guy.
