@DuchessMyPony because he was difficult in the bitless and no matter how hard we tried he didn't accept it like he has accepted a bit now. He may throw a paddy again and not tolerate the bit, then he'll go back in a bitless but i prefer bits to bitless! :)
he looks gorgeous, your hands are so light and soft! cant think of a better way for someone to ride a pony with a disike for bits :) it's so good to see you back in the saddle too :) x
the amount of work, effort and dedication you have put into him really stands out. what you do is brilliant, you can see he trusts you and accepts your contact on the reins, you should be so so proud of what youve achieved! xxx
for a pony with such a mental block about bits there could be no rider with softer hands then you to do him justice, you can see he trusts you and where you give to reward he completely relaxes in any moment hes thinking of tensing, very nice work cannot believe this is the same pony that you first got on, hes very lucky to have you and such a good owner as hes got other wise god knows what would of happened to him!! xx
Have to say the horses who " are brought for just hacks" always turn out to be cracking horses! I was always told my mare would never be anything more than a hack?! ¬¬ He's looking fab! And I do the same as you with my reins and an outline, it stops leaning and is much softer and nicer on their mouth! :)
