  • @calimar28 Mate show some respect!

  • @MyScorpion42 The rectal animations are quite nice too...

  • I love this game, it is not real ! It is real like a dream.

  • 8:45 Eyes front, soldier.

  • Comment removed

  • I love how, when he's talking about the facial animation, he zooms in on Alyx's butt.

  • I can't decide if I love or hate the way he says "gunplay"

  • This guy is an idot and troll. HL2 is rated the number 1 game ever, and this guy runs it down! LOL Half Life 1 is SHIT compared to HL2

  • @calimar28 Dude, he calls it magical within the first minute. MAGICAL.

  • @calimar28

Did you even listen to the review?

  • @calimar28 You know the reviewer is dead, right? Could be a bit more respectful...

  • The Reason i love half life is because I Feel like it is an adventure, Half life is an escape from reality for me. When i play, IAM Gordon.Basically it feels like iam going backpacking in an alternate reality. Its just, Our vocabulary is very limited to describe this game.

  • half life 2 is not on a 3rd generation consol its called the orange box

  • This has to be the most over-rated game ever. I just don't see what everybody is so worked up about. I played it two times, just two see if there was anything I missed, because I simply hated it, and all of my friends loved it to death. It is two steps back from the original. Slow-paced, horrid gunplay, sub-par graphics (for it's time), and physics gimmich shoved down your throat. HOLY SHIT I CAN PICK UP BARRELS AND THROW THEM AT MY ENEMIES! The original Half-Life is excellent, what happened?

  • @ThorinSHR When did you play it? Because when this game came out it was revolutionary in graphics, game-play, and mechanics.

  • @FrostmourneFK I played it at launch. Trust me, all of these "revolutionary mechanics" were done before. Physics? Trespasser. Don't get me wrong, the physics were improved upon in HL2, but half of the game is still scripted non-sense. Also, go play Surface Tension in HL1, it's 10x more fast-paced than any chapter in HL2 or episodes. This game really didn't revolutionize anything. All of the "innovation" was featured in games before this.

  • Half Life:Best Game Series Ever.

  • best game of the decade for sure, better than any of the trash that has come out recently (uncharted 3, skyrim, to name a few)

I stil find myself going back and replaying HL2 and its episodes because the games are just that good.

I think the level of quality valve achieved with this game, like its predecessor, can only hoped to be toppled by the next sequel to it

  • @Chnswdchldrn Sure HL2 is great the best first person shooter in my opinion but Skyrim is an excellent rpg game thats worth playing if you want to call some games trash next add call of duty to the list

  • 8:47 ... did he think i wouldn't notice?

  • I understand why it is one of the greatest games of all time, and I think it is true...yet I hated playing it and stopped after HL2...never touched ep 1 or 2.

  • Half Life 2 was the game of the decade just as good as Half Life 1 was when it was new , thsi games don really get old they are still the best movie like experience

  • I don't agree with review at all

  • Can't believe he just died like that, this was a great review, RIP antisocialfatman

  • R.I.P bud

  • 01:59 aw what it says portal.

  • do i have to have played the original half life to get half life 2 i want to buy the orange box

  • @CentsTwo not really, you should at least read a summary of the story as it will help in HL2 a little bit.

  • The story was not all that fun it was like gears look good but for people who don't know the defance bewteen good story telling and and just making it look awesome the story was in the mid and people play it for the mods and they know it.

  • Great review. I like your creative, open-minded reflection on the game.

  • Fantastic review. Thanks.

  • 8:47 pedophile :P

  • @roxor108 that's pervert...idiot

  • The original Half Life is the best game ever made, an work of art if I may say so.

Its a shame that the enemies in HL 2 are so dumb because all other elements are so well balanced.

  • @TheWeirdTeens eeeh... oh well HL2 is still an overall better game. (besides the faces)

  • this is the best game in the world...

  • my friend says half life isnt very popular and my brother says half life sucks, theyre both wrong

  • @TheWeirdTeens Yeah but that uses uninteractive cutscenes. HL 2 doesn't.

  • Is this you playing the game? If so, is your crosshair turned off?

  • @tommehirl It is me playing. The crosshair is definitely there, it's just really faint in the video for some reason. I didn't have any problem seeing it when I was actually playing.

  • 1:48 "Portal" storm continues. I am very excite for EP:3 after they figure out how to tie in L4D and Portal into a completely epic game.

  • 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999/5

  • I disagree with the total disparagement of the gunplay, but agree in almost all other aspects. I always thought that it had a good, solid feel. In the regard that it's not what defines the game, I agree wholeheartedly.

  • ha ha at 8:47 he zoomed in oh her ass XD

  • @Themexicannatzi Can you type....at all? If you do not like a review, leave and don't put up stupid comments or here is another idea, make your own review.

  • @Themexicannatzi Also the Half-Life games came before Halo, so if anything Halo ripped of Half-Life.

  • @Themexicannatzi Troll harder next time noob.

  • @ChaosBahamut I WILL TRY MY BEST Bb

  • @Themexicannatzi Oh my God, you type like a tool.

  • Half-Life 2 is the most unique first-person shooter of all time, it has a fun level designs filled with enemies and puzzles, the most unique gunplay then most shooters like "Call of Duty" where you aim down sights and shoot.

  • 0:08 to 0:24 is basically a perfect description of Modern Warfare

  • It's interesting how his name is "Freeman" obviously being a play on words meaning a "free man" and that in the first game it was about him escaping while the second was him starting and leading a revolt (as well as an allegory for the end-times).

  • @KedViper It's interesting if it's a coincidence, but I'm sure it's very, very deliberate.

  • @antisocialfatman why is Mark from classic game room ignorant, checkout his channel, he's played and reviewed TONS of games, famous and completely obscure

  • best game ever made

  • BTW, Soul Reaver 2, back from 2001, had complex facial animation and lip-synching, combined with a dynamic inverse kinematical skeletal system that positioned character limbs in a much more natural way than the usual key-framed animations.

At the time I felt spoiled for other games with their plastic flapping mouths and static features. Even now I still feel let down when I see the same level ground 'run' animation used for stair climbing and slopes. SR2 was 5 years ahead of the curve.

  • @DissorderedArray Yes it did didn't it. It didn't get much recognition for it though. Not like some modern games like L.A Noire and Uncharted are getting for it. I loved the Soul Reaver series. In Half Life 2 the characters talk to you in real time though, so that's more of an achievement, but I do hate the way reviewers and the like go on and on about how great the facial animation in the other games is when Soul Reaver 2's was actually more accomplished for it's time. Some incredible VA too.

  • I have a request for you if you would be willing, there is currently a mod called black mesa, it is a remake of the original half life on the hl2 engine, when it is released, would you be willing to review it, it is not a complete remake actually the developers have redone large portions of the levels that were tedious or boring.

  • @arizzi1000 I've been following Black Mesa for years and am looking forward to playing it, but I won't be reviewing it. I don't review free games/mods.

That being said, I have a feeling that, if it's ever finished, Valve will buy it and sell it/bundle it with some other game. They have a habit of doing that sort of thing.

  • @antisocialfatman I was wondering if you ever played a game called deus ex and if you have could you tell me what you thought of it.

  • @antisocialfatman TF2 is free, your argument is outdated.

  • @DrasarSalman No it isn't!

  • @antisocialfatman check steam

  • @DrasarSalman No, I mean my argument isn't outdated.

  • Good review, in general all of your reviews are good, this one is no different. You brought up some interesting new points, while you are a harsh reviewer by most other standards, they are just. You have a clear picture of what makes a video game fun, which most other professional reviewers don't have.

  • I agree with what antisocialfatman has to say here. The game recycles old set pieces with only slight variations to make them appear new and inventive when (unfortunately) they are not. The cave sequence did fall short in the regard of level design and was extremely monotonous. The driving sequence was exciting but I felt like I'd done it all before. It would have been exciting to drive a combine vehicle or pilot a combine gunship or something along those lines. Overall I had fun playing t

  • 1:45 "Portal" Storm Continues

  • I would say that both uncharted and mass effect that was out in 2009 proceeds half life 2 in facial animation.

  • @antisocialfatman Not that it's a big deal, but what do you dislike about CGR's reviews? Yours and his are still great regardless. What's sad is you and CGR are really the only reviewers left (that I know of) that give an honest opinion. You don't just get sucked into the hype and hand out a perfect 10.

  • @antisocialfatman The guy on Classic Game Room isn't really ignorant, but your reviews are still better. He's the only reviewer I've ever seen to put Perfect Dark in a negative light. I've never seen anyone else do that. Probably because they're to scared to or something.

  • Good review, will you review Alien Swarm? It is a free to play game, and is a lot of fun. Made on the same source engine? You can play it on steam.

  • I like how you love Half Life 2 in your own way. :)

  • @antisocialfatman um watch the classic game room review of bioshock. He reviews games for a living. Not some n00b scottish fags.

  • @jfetherboy Him reviewing games for a living means he makes money, so part of the reviews are likely more than a little biased to sell the games. He reviews random games as well, like that Shrek kids game for the DS, and that, along with the way he talks about things in his reviews, shows he obviously doesn't particularly take what he does very seriously.

  • @KedViper He is also one of the only reviewers that focus on the fun aspect of games instead of the typical "this game is better than that game, the graphics is shit" and so on. He play games to have fun, just like most gamers. I am sick of reviewers that only spend time on comparing games instead of showing how fun a game can be. And do random games make him ignorant? Or is the fact that he reviews a DS game and not a main stream AAA title make him a lesser reviewer?

  • @TheXLink He just doesn't act very serious in doing his reviews and it couldn't have been fun when he played the Shrek game. I have enjoyed his reviews but at some point they stopped being entertaining for me. And I hate most AAA games.

  • @KedViper Well you have your opineon and I respect that. But I like his non serious reviewing style. It is relaxing and like I said, focus on the fun side of the games. He also do talk about the problems in some games and give info on them. But some times I agree that it gets a bit to much. And I never just blindly follow reviews, and his reviews is more like a show, let's se Mark have fun crashing cars in Forza and complain of the lack of flame throwers

  • @um watch the classic game room review of bioshock. He reviews games for a living. Not some n00b scottish fag...

  • Half Life 2 is a first person shooter. Not some weird puzzle game like Portal which i personally thought was great. And Bioshock is one of the best first person shooter/platformer thingie ever and is more unique than any other game. Have u played Gears of War cuz that game is fun!!!!

  • @jfetherboy BioShock is not unique at all. It's a dumbed down copy of a game called System Shock 2. Watch my BioShock review if you want to know just how mediocre the game is.

I didn't say HL2 was 'some weird puzzle game', but I strongly feel that the gunplay is not the game's defining aspect.

GoW is a very poor, console shooter.

  • @antisocialfatman The guns are not fun to use? Come on man (most) of them are awsome...... Gravity gun - EPIC Dark Gravity gun - SUPER EPIC Shoutgun - AWSOME Revolver - AWSOME RPG - AWSOME SMG - Nothing special Puls Rifle - Good Pistol - SUPER GAY Crowbar - AWSOME The antilion shit - Good Crossbow - Bad/Nothing special Grenades - Nothing special
  • @antisocialfatman While it may be dumbed down and similar, it does, however, create a believable world with an intense atmosphere and tell a compelling story.

  • @laifalbert The story in Bioshock is essentially the story from System Shock with cyberpunk replaced by steampunk and a heavy Ayn Rand influence.

  • @Abon666 The world though, is unique. It's completely believable as a once great city ruined by addiction. You are right though in that the core story is ripped off and changed.

  • anitsocialfatmans reviews suck!!! Thats 2 times you've compared games that were created a year apart. Get ur facts straight dick! U think system shock 2 is a unique game, 2K (looking glass) games has been mimicking first person shooters ever since the first system shock and they're all the same, dark, bland, repetitive and most importantly boring. So go shove ur system shock, bioshock, and upcoming bioshock infinite up ur stupid redcoat ass.

  • @gihaddd A year is not a long time in gaming terms, considering how iterative games are. Besides, the comparison was not unfair.

Your point regarding LG (which is NOT 2K) "mimicking" first person shooters makes no sense at all. They are *not* all the same, but in your HL1 comment you said why change a good recipe, so you're contradicting yourself.

As for calling them repetitive, uhh, they are elaborate and complex, the games you cite are simple and therefore much more reptitive.

  • @gihaddd Finally, I don't like BioShock at all. It's mediocre in the exteme, as will BioShock Infinite also probably be.

Finally, what's with the abuse? So what if we have different opinions? Are you so immature, filled with so much impotent rage that you can't simply accept that different people like different things? So what if we don't think the same way, that doesn't invalidate my opinion or my review.

    Please, please, grow up.

  • @antisocialfatman I am not trying to sound smart but you seem not to like really good games.. Name me your personal top 5 to see what you like

  • @topografer I don't stack rank cross genre. It makes little sense.

  • @antisocialfatman Couldn't you just make a top only the "how much i enjoyed them factor" even without any order. For example i will name mine

Metal Gear Solid 1, Diablo 2, Halo CE, one the two mass effects, Assasin's Creed 2.. As you can see this totally is a cross genre list.. If i could stick Dragon Age origins and Doom 3 somewhere in between it would be nice

  • @topografer Take a look at the 'top score reviews' playlist on my channel for a list of all the games that I've scored 5/5.

Obviously you don't need to watch the reviews, just look at the game names. This is a small sampling of some games that I think are fantastic.

Looking at your examples, we have very different taste in games. MGS, Halo and AC are mediocre, but Diablo 2 is pretty great.

  • @antisocialfatman Checked the list.. I agree in about 50% of the games the other games are good but not 5/5 for me.. Well you seem to like good games but as i said, you happen not to like games that are pretty good.. Okay assasin's creed combat was not top notch but the whole game was addicting deep, big and really really good.. Halo is a matter of taste so ok i respect that you don't like it.. But man.. MGS 1? It has to be the best game ever.. Thumbs up for dawn of war dead space and batman tho

  • @topografer MGS has a really good story and really good characters, but the writing is pretty iffy and it's really preachy.

But, uh... the gameplay? It has to be some of the worst stealth ever. The top-down camera gives you a ridiculous advantage and the AIs walk around like muppets and can only see about 5 feet ahead of themselves. The combat is awful.

Out of the big 3 stealth games of 1998, Tenchu and Thief both have way, way better stealth gameplay. Waaaaaay better. MGS is just okay.

  • @antisocialfatman Yes MGS is not a good stealth game, its an action game with use of tactics.. But the gameplay is amazing and the story/character/storytelling was beyond any imagination at the time.. Tenchu and Thief are great games.. I think you shouldnt standardize the games and shouldn't walk on "genre" pavements.. Play any game for what it is.. Yes thied had better stealth.. But by no means it was a better game.. And i don't even talk about about backstory/lore

  • @topografer Which bit of the gameplay is amazing? It's not the stealth, it's not the combat...

And what's left? Running around and collecting stuff? Some of the bosses are okay, but the rest is just totally mediocre in every respect.

  • @antisocialfatman First of all all the bosses are perfect boss fights (generally mgs series has great boss fights) Second you got many gadgets to use.. Third the stealth ain't really that bad, its just easy. Fourth the codec talkings are really great and gives you reason to play.. I could deffinitelly go on.. If i rated MGS with separate categories, the gameplay would deffinitelly be the lowest but music, story, presentation, characters, voice acting and everything else would be 5/5 easily

  • @topografer I don't see how you draw any of those conclusions.

  • @antisocialfatman It's a matter of perception, but these kind of things ain't that subjective. Something is either good or its not

  • @topografer The exact opposite is true. It's entirely subjective!

  • @antisocialfatman I for one believe that the meaning "subjective" is way too overused for some things.. But beware, something being good is entirely different than something appealing to me, or you, or anyone.. Being good or not is entirely subjective.. If i like something or i don't is entirely not... And as i get you, you just don't like for example MGS, but the fact that MGS is a very very good game is subjective to me and to many people.. Its not mediocre you just don't like it

  • @topografer Being good or not is entirely subjective.

I'd encourage you to prove me wrong. I mean, you can't, but I'd like to see you try.

  • @antisocialfatman I deffinitelly couldn't like you couldn't prove me wrong when i am saying being good or not is objective.. The only thing thats subjective is if you like something or not.. That's unfortunately not debateable to me and the only way to agree is to agree to disagree:P For example i think you rated PC game amnesia 5/5 no? Well i think even you know that it's not a 5/5 game in any world/universe/whatever.. You just happened to like the hell out of it, which is something i respect

  • @topografer Uh, no, I can prove you wrong. 'Good' has no inherent meaning. Its worth is created in the mind of the individual and is entirely relative.

It's the same as 'big' or 'funny'. They are utterly subjective. That is a fact. Agree to disagree all you like, you're wrong. Quality is subjective.

Your Amnesia point is supporting *my* argument. *I* think it's a 5/5 and *you* don't. That's the very definition of subjectivity.

  • @antisocialfatman Oh please don't start philosophy and the truth behind words:D I am trying to make just one point.. That you reviews are not actually reviews, but opinion videos.. And before you tell me that a review is an opinion, well no i think it isn't.. Because a person that's (for example) into RPGS he is gonna like every RPG game that's out there.. The amnesia rating (and also torchlight rating) supports *my argument.. So your videos are subjective as you say but... (to be continued)

  • @topografer Anyone who likes RPGs is going to like EVERY rpg game that's out there? Really?

  • @antisocialfatman ...(contine) a review (something that says if something is good or not) in the way i see it should be objective and sterile.. Because as we both say there are people with different tastes.. As a finisher let me say this to you.. I don't like Final Fantasy 7 which is a game that many worship.. Does this mean its a mediocre game? You understand that there can't be 6 billion reviews right? Just some reviews and 6 billion opinions

  • @antisocialfatman Another example is bioshock.. For many its the best game ever.. You just can't come and say it's mediocre at best.. You can say that you think its not that good, or that you don't like it, or whatever, but not that it IS bad... It doesn't make any sense, if you try to baptise a game BAD when 80% of people think its awsome

  • Comment removed

  • @topografer So what you're saying is that a reviewer should suspend his own opinion in favor of the opinions of the majority?

The fact is that different people value different things, not just in gaming, but in EVERYTHING. It doesn't make any sense to say that something is good when you don't think so.

  • During the 1700s, over 80% of people felt that slavery was not wrong. Does that mean that slavery wasn't wrong?

  • @laifalbert It actually saved lots of people from dieing in Africa from hunger

  • @F1brawfa Are you being serious?

  • @laifalbert Dont take it too seriously but there is a bit of truth in that

  • @laifalbert Hold on, what's your point here?

  • @Travaillons My point is that one cannot modify his opinion simply because the majority disagrees with it.

  • @antisocialfatman I don't share the opinion that bioshock is the best game ever, but its clear to me that its a really good game in its core, and personally i did enjoy it.. That makes it a good game and also a game that i liked

  • @antisocialfatman replace the last "subjective" with "objective" it was a typo:D

  • @gihaddd <-----Asshole.

  • Story is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing, the engine is MAGNIFICENT (unmatched except for crysis 1 but that game came out like 3-4 years later?), the guns are unique and fun to use, the levels are super diverse and the "our benificiaries" or whatever it was had the best level design ive ever seen in a game personally and i mean i could go on, for 2004 this game was the best fps no doubt, and today it is pretty much still the most original and innovative game, it is just so amazing. Valve <3

  • I hate you... I hate you sooo much >:/

  • While Half-Life 2 wasn't as groundbreaking as its predecessor, I think that it is in every way a much better game than the original. Game play, storytelling, physics, music-every aspect of the game was drastically improved. With the exception of the amazing execution of physics, there wasn't really anything that was fundamentally different from other games. But it didn't really matter, because it was still the best game of its kind. At least that's what I think.

  • But I do agree with it being execellent! :D

  • the guns etc are unsatisfactory? Personally I disagree. I really enjoyed half life 2 and 1. But I can't argue with your decision, because it is only an opinion...

  • What annoyed me in half life 2 was the overly generous distribution of ammo, it almost never forced you to change guns

  • The seven hour war us in elis lab. And well it's a old game.

  • Where are the newspapers for the 7 hour war located?

  • half life 2 should get a +1 for its music

  • Nice review. I started watching your videos with your review of Half Life and I must say, your reviews are refreshing. They're very extensive, speak truthfully and are unbiased. The Half Life series is easily one of my favorite and it's nice to hear someone who appreciates it as well as critiques it, rather than everyone else who just praises it and calls it flawless.

  • @4illegalalien so the GMAE IS AWESOME

  • The origanal Half Life is looking more and more appealing to me.

  • half life 2 is aWESOME lol and thre good porgrammers becuse valves workers used to be windows porgrammers

  • He has a reputation already...in the old half life games, there was no reputation involved, no personality, no emotion nothing. I liked that, I liked the pure, minimalist aspect of the character design.

  • Something I didn't like about Half Life 2 is that the developers gave a kind of personality to Gordon. With Alyx constantly talking to him and about him, and being his friend, and they hinting at some kind of love between the two, this gives definition to the character of Gordon Freeman. What I liked about the old Half Life games is that the character had no personality at all. It's kind of weird, but that's what I liked...also in HL2, Freeman is seen as a hero, a savior by all. He has a reputat

  • @WorldOfSnakes But I think it's one of the things that makes him better than other video game characters. He actually has a personality eventhough he doesn't talk too much. And he still has that kick ass aditude of killing zombies with a crowbar. I mean take a look at master chief. He nearly doesn't have any personality which makes playing him so boring. the halo games are great but you could as well play as someone else rather than master chief and you wouldn't feel the difference

  • @applejuiceZOMG Yes I agree that it's nice and fun to play a character that has personality but without ever talking. I know what you mean and I agree totally. However, for Half Life, I liked better when we had no clue, no hint, no reference to Gordon's personality or relations with people. It's not that I don't like how they made the character in Half Life 2...it's more like...after having played the type of Gordon of Half Life 1, I wanted to stick with it.

  • @applejuiceZOMG Had I not played the kind of gordon they displayed in Half Life 1, I wouldn't care about what they did in Half Life 2. I hope you understand my point lol it's kind of messed up and I tend to explain bad:P

  • I love how you made that nuance in both your reviews about Half Life and Half Life 2: you said "the story is shallow, but the story telling is wonderful". That is so intelligent how you managed to put that into words and describe it so well...I totally agree with you on this, and it's the reason why Half Life is so memorable.

  • i WANT to kill the guy who leaked half life 2 because it was SOOOO much better than the half life 2 we have now, the storyline was BETTER and DARKER, and the weapons were actually satisfying, although the combine suits were damn ugly with all that yellow, but the half life 2 beta can kill half life 2 anyday, at least in half life 2 ep 3 they plan on putting some of the beta stuff in :)

  • do u thing person who havent played the 1st games would easili picup the storyline and enjoy?

do u think its important to play the 1st game in order to enjoy the 2nd game (storyline in specific) ?

  • @buxzed I just completed Half Life 2, and I hadn't played the original before, although I found it fine, before finishing the game I watched youtube videos of Half Life one to keep me up to date with the story. I suggest doing that before you finish the game.

  • @buxzed dont listen to him, play half life 1 first, half life 1 is WAY better tahtn the second

  • Why would a game that follows GTA's template be judged so harshly. Obviously HL isn't a Doom clone but it could still be called it if AC 2 is going to be called a GTA clone. There are very big differences between AC and Brotherhood to GTA. The fact that the game features free running is definately one valid feature. There are a load of other factors which give it it's own identity too which I don't feel like going into here.

  • I think the way you are comparing it to GTA is grossly unfair. There may be similarities between it and GTA but so what. It's very unfair to call a game that does what GTA did a GTA rip off or such especially when it's done as well as the AC 2/Brotherhood world. You said before that most shooters that came out after Doom were considered Doom clones. Im sure you don't think that's fair now. You even defended Exhumed a while back when someone said it might be a Doom clone.

  • The game isn't a full sequel but it is more of sequel than a lot of other games Ive played. The gameplay is vastly improved upon from AC 2 even if the story isn't as intriguing. It's probably not as good as AC 2 was w.r.t when it came out but it is still a great achievement considering how quickly it came out.

  • Fatman, Im being marked as spam on your channel so I will continue the last conversation here.

AC 2 was set in multiple different cities. AC:Brotherhood is set entirely in Rome. The very last level of AC 2 was set in Rome so part of it would be complete but there was still an enormous amount of other stuff to include as well. Rome is one of the finest cities ever built after all and th team did a remarkable job of designing it for the game.

  • @sorahearts325 You abviously didn't watch the whole review He didn't give the game an average review. He gave it a 5/5!

  • @sorahearts325 Uh... did you even watch the review? I gave the game my highest score and spend about 8 of the 10 minutes praising the game.

  • @girondi1 Nah, not really. HL2 has obviously influenced future games in ways, but much older games are still much more influential today.

And the Mega Drive didn't start anything.

  • @antisocialfatman srry i ment to say sega dreamcast.

  • @girondi1 I don't understand. What did the Dreamcast start?

  • @antisocialfatman everything that made consoles today. half life made me the gamer i am today. im more of a pc gamer but i started out playing a leaked copy of half life on the dreamcast. and when the dreamcast came out it started everything that consoles have today. online gaming, triggers. it also had a revolutionary memory card which didnt take off, but i liked it .

  • @girondi1 The Dreamcast just iteratively built on what came before it. The SNES had internet access in Japan.

The Dreamcast was great, but no Saturn, no Dreamcast, no Mega Drive, no Saturn, no Master System, no Mega Drive, and then we go back further to home computers like the Spectrum and the Commadore 64.

The Dreamcast accomplished some good things, but it's a little silly to choose one machine as 'starting' things when it's all so iterative.

  • @antisocialfatman im just a person that doesnt go with what the crowd says.

when ppl are liking death metal i like hardcore punk

when ppl are liking FEAR i like system shock

when ppl are liking xbox 360 i like atari 2600

when ppl are liking Call Of Duty Black Ops i like red orchestra

i like original things not things that the whole crowd likes. but no matter how hard i try to stay away from these crowds that r collective i find out im still the same cuz we all live our lives lmfao!

  • am i the only hl2 fan here that agrees with this guy?

  • this game will eventuelly put you in a couner and kill you again and again utile you find a solution wich makes it exelente

  • First of all I want to say that I really like your review also I see some points slightly diferent.

I don't think that HL2 is a bad shooter. Ok, the AI is not great, but not bad either. The combines take cover, throw grenades and always try to get you from the flanks. So you always have to move and look for cover. But what in my opinion makes the shooting so intense is the realistic violence and especially the incredible physics (which can't be pointed out often enough).

  • half life 2 had me loving it at times and hating it at times, if ot wasn't for the last 4 chapters, the game woildve gotten a 3/5 from me, but once your in the citadel, the game just takes you, ypu cant stop, I would give it a 4.5/5

  • Very nice review, you pretty much summed up my own opinion of HL2 -groundbreaking and/or excellent on most points, except for the actual first-person shooting aspect, which paled in comparison to even its predecessor's. However, saying that the facial animations "still haven't been bested by any other developer" is completely and utterly false. Titles such as Mass Effect 1 and 2 have vastly superior facial expressions and animations, and the Crysis games blow all of the above out of the water.

  • damn where's this guys accent coming from, i cant name it.

  • The best game i've EVER played.

  • Shallow... Story..?

There IS a special layer of hell for people who diss Valve's games.

  • On the contrary, I thought the AI was pretty good, and the Combat to be very fun.
